amyrs, sunrose49, cj59, DotRen, irisinnia, *waves* I went back to lower carbs as well. We had Olive Garden Saturday, then Sunday Ron decided he wanted pancakes, so I made them then had a blood-sugar crash later that left me feeling shaky and sick. So yea, lowering the carbs lol. (When you need a "sign" that's an obvious one!). JD is getting really frustrated with his job, but he won't speak up for himself. Since the school age kids are doing online classes now, he's in charge of all 12 of them during class time. Except the regulations say you can only have 10 kids per class in rooms their size, and they didn't enforce that. And 1/2 the kids brought tablets or laptops that need to be plugged in/charged and they don't have the outlets for that. None of the kids knew how to even sign in to their classed - and JD didn't either because no one told him he was the only one handling that aspect. Yesterday was a pain in the butt for him and he's really getting depressed about it. I told him that we would help him financially if he wanted to quit and work for instacart or something while he looks for another job, but he's afraid of change (always has been). I feel bad for him, but he's the only one who can change what's happening by speaking up and letting them know he needs help (he won't ask) and that he deserves a raise (they all do! They've been on the front line through all of this).

Hello Everyone irisinnia - yes this is the starting over thread sunrose - hope the counting calories works for you DotRen - I hope things work out for your son, I'm glad he has you to help him. I hate change too and ended up working for the same company for over 30 years before I retired. It turned out alright in the end, but there were a lot of the early years there that I really wanted to leave and was afraid to. So I understand how difficult it can be for your DS. Hope everyone else is doing well and staying on track. I'm hoping I can get motivated to do more than I am. At least I'm getting a bit more exercise in each day, so that's something Take care!

Woohoo! Starting over! Hi, my name is Irisinnia and I'm a food-aholic. It's been 3 days since I've eaten food that I didn't track. My goal for this week is to track everything, do some very, very light cardio first thing every morning, and I want to do some light weights - just arms - once this week. cj59, Exercising is great progress! It's always the hardest step for me. DotRen, I've never had a blood sugar crash but that sounds downright scary. Glad you heeded the "sign". Sorry about your son having a rough time at work. He's doing a tough job. Best of luck! sunrose49, Great strides for starting over. You're so good at getting your exercise in, I hope you get your groove back! amyrs, These are very stressful times. I love that you're always ready to start over after life throws you. Personally, I feel swamped with starting homeschool, I'm trying to be gentle on myself and the kids during this transition time, but it's a lot. I hope I find the right balance.

Still tracking!
I had to take the kitten to get spayed early in the morning yesterday and didn't get a chance to work out.
Today, I don't want to.
*sigh* I better do it now before I change my mind.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today.
irisinnia - Hope the spaying of your kitten went well. I have only had dogs in my life, but recently I have really wanted to get a cat. Kittens are so much fun to watch.
Another board that I post on is doing a Beck Diet Solution book review and exercise again. I did one about 3-4 years ago. I've really resisted going back to counting/tracking and working those processes because it just seems like work to me. I want weight control to be a natural thing, but I can see that it never will be for me. It will probably always be work if I want to keep the weight off and help my health. So I might join back again and do the review that lasts through November. Maybe it will get me back on eating better and losing weight.
I have been walking for a dedicated amount of time each day, so I need to keep that up and get back to a daily dedicated walk each day.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello! cj59, The kitten is doing great! She's basically unphased, so I have to get after her for jumping and climbing on things. She is a handful. I didn't know the other board was doing a review. I might have to check it out. Thanks for the tip! I totally empathize with wanting weight control to be a natural thing. I think it gets a little easier the more you do it, but to say it's devoid of work isn't true. So, I didn't exercise this morning.I might still be able to pick it up. But it's harder for me to find the motivation in the afternoon/evening. We shall see. And I have yet to do the weight training, but I have high hopes for tomorrow. Tracking is going phenomenal. And twice this week, I picked up a cookie, thought about it, and put it down. I need to talk to my kids about putting their cookies back in the cupboard. Bye everyone!

In storm prep mode right now. We're near Freeport, just south of Houston, so it looks like we'll be on the dirty side of Marco. So far they're not calling for it to make a hurricane strength, so that's good news.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - I'm glad that tracking is going well for you. Guess I'll start back on that when I do the Beck exercises. DotRen - I hope that you and your family will be safe and not have any damage at your house. It's just crazy that two storms are coming into the Gulf at the same time! sunrose - I'm the same with exercise too, it's best for me to do it in the morning. Thanks for the skinny vibes I've still been getting in some dedicated walking time each day and it's starting to sink into my head that I have to make myself do this again. I don't want to be worried about getting steps but instead I'm working on minutes of exercise. I let that Fitbit/steps things make me do some crazy stuff just to get a step counted and I don't want to get back to that. I also signed up for the Beck Diet Solution review on the other board, so I hope that will help with reinforcing the good eating behaviors that I need to use each day to lose weight and keep it off. I always say this is the last time I'm going to lose weight since it's so difficult to do, but I sure hope this is the last time and I can keep it off. Take care everyone

Hi sunrose - I guess at some point it has to the be last time I've read comments from people that said they hoped when they died they weren't still dieting Hope your house issues get cleared up quickly. You have all my sympathy with those matters. I have multiple house issues that cause me anxiety every day. I'm starting to get my mind into a dieting mode so I can be ready to start the Beck Diet Solution review next week. I think I'll do the Momentum program again, since I know it well and it's easy. Each of the two times I did it I lost over 100 pounds, so I know it works for me. I hope it will this time too. I'll just have to figure out something else for Maintenance because that program doesn't work for me once I'm at my goal weight. Hope everyone is doing well on their plans and just in there lives

Still on storm watch because they have no idea where Laura will go (it seems) now that she's passing Cuba and into the Gulf. The cone has shifted back towards Houston a little, but it's still on the fringe. They are evacuating a lot of the barrier islands and low-lying areas on the coast here for the storm surge potential. cj59, "they" say maintenance is harder than weight loss because no one tells you how to do it! Etsy has a lot of the old WW momentum cookbooks and things from the other programs sunrose49, irisinnia, *waves*

Good morning
cj, That would be great to try momentum again. I am going to take a look at it. I've done everyone program WW has had since 1991.
dotren, wow thanks for the tip on Etsy!! I'll have to check it out. I think this new storm is going to be stronger. Stay safe.
I have jazzercise at 9:30. I have canceled my ww account for now. I can't keep wasting $ on it. Getting no results.

sunrose49, I bought the 1 year plan for $10 a month back in Feb or March lol. I started tracking back on myfitnesspal Saturday because I was getting too lenient on WW just counting points and not carbs/calories

Hello Everyone DotRen - I hope that you and your family will be safe and that you won't get too much rain/wind from the storm. I was looking at the latest path for this storm and once it heads north it takes a sharp right and heads right over my area! I sure hope it's just a bit of rain left in it by that point sunrose - I hope you can find another "program" to do. There were several times I kept paying for WW even though it wasn't working for me. I know a lot of people like the ITrack Bites app that lets you chose older WW program and even some of the newer ones. And I tried My Fitness Pal for awhile too and it wasn't bad for tracking, and there is a free version. As for the Momentum program, fortunately I kept all my instructions and guides that came out in 2009-2010 when I first did it. So I have all the tools I need. I like to paper track my food, so I just ran copies of an old tracker from then and I use those for tracking. I loved the 3 month journals they had back then too. The thing about the Momentum program that made the most sense to me was that your points are determined based on your weight, along with other factors, and the points go down every time you lose 10 pounds. I never understood how someone who weighed 300 pounds could eat the same amount of points/calories as someone who weighed 150 pounds and both would lose weight the same way. So when this program came out I really liked it and I used it again in 2015-2018 and it worked well - except once I got down to where the points were only 18 points a day with your 35 weekly points to use. You were probably eating about 1200 calories a day at that point, which is not bad for losing weight and getting to goal, but didn't work well for after. When I tried maintenance by adding back in points, I got kind of out of control again. I do think a lot of those problems were more personal issues than the program - but there does need to be some kind of adjustment to maintenance on this program to make it work. I just need to figure out what that is Take care everyone!
