surfgirl, you nailed it. if a person who doesn't have the brains to think for themselves depends on me to stay safe, and i tell them it's totally safe to go swimming with hungry sharks and they believe me, and then get eaten by the sharks, who is responsible? they didn't have the brain capacity to think this through on their own and they trusted me 100% because they thought i did have the brains to exercise judgment on their behalf. he is too irresponsible to be the leader of this country. his lack of responsibility caused 170k and counting deaths. the man who died of covid that the daughter was speaking about was in fact a trump supporter.

wow! that's nuts! not surprising, but nuts.
i watched obama's DNC speech last night. SO GOOD! first time he has ever outwardly called out DT. normally he's more discreet about it but he let it all out last night. i loved it.

you know, one thing i will say though is that those people almost sort of deserve to have been defrauded. you reap what you sow. you want some dumb wall because you hate mexicans and immigrants and some known conmen (anyone with ties to trump can't be trusted and they should have known better) come asking for a donation for an org for a wall the US government itself isn't even involved in, then maybe you deserved to lose your hate money.

Steve Bannon is also under investigation over some fund raising for a media firm.

Sounds like Steve Bannon wasn't just charged, he was arrested. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. And of course Trump is distancing himself.

of course he is. i think bannnon gave him a heads up it was going south because according to that article trump already tweeted from his porcelain throne his displeasure at them doing this privately funded wall. but only said that in july. not before when it was first going on.

I know, for many, many years, a lot of Americans wanted a businessman in the white house to help the economy. We should have specified: a "good" businessman, not a failed game show host who f's up every business he runs.

we got some crazy narcissist as a president. not anyone with any good sense of anything at all. i was so sad to hear obama speak. to think that we once had an actual leader. and now we've got a clown car running the show.

"The Susan B. Anthony House on Tuesday objected to President Trump’s pardon of its namesake, saying it “validated the proceedings” that led to her conviction for attempting to vote in the first place.
The suffragist leader “was outraged to be denied a trial by jury. She proclaimed, ‘I shall never pay a dollar of your unjust penalty,’” the museum’s account tweeted. “To pay would have been to validate the proceedings. To pardon Susan B. Anthony does the same.”

This is the first time I've watch the Democratic National Convention. So, I have no basis of comparison. I really enjoyed it. I hadn't planned on watching, but got pulled in on the first night. I liked how they included so many people from different walks of life (just waiting for Trump to claim how they are all actors). I like that the speeches were short. Since I can't compare with past conventions I don't know how much was lost with not having a live crowd.
