I have to say, Bidens comments/attitude here offended me, a lot. His dismissal of the cognitive test and his "are you a junkie" comments remind me a LOT of how Trump responds to uncomfortable questions. It is an important test for seniors to make sure they're not showing signs of mental decline. My grandmother had pretty severe dementia the last few years of her life, so his pithy "why the hell would I take a test" is pretty Trumpish when you consider how many Americans do suffer from mental decline. I just found his whole attitude off-putting and I want to know "why not, Joe? Why not take the test? If Trump did well, surely you would do better".
If I were Biden I would have pushed back too. Has any other normal presidential hopeful been asked to take the test?
This is how filthy and dirty Trump and the rest of the Republican party are these days.
The low life's of the GOP will not let go of this now. I'm thinking they probably have a few other despicable tricks in that bag of filth and disgust they depend on.
My eyes and ears tell me Biden is an honorable and good man. More than capable of leading the country. Trump is a disgusting, selfish, and evil man, just like the rest of the GOP today concerned only with power, greed, deceit, and control.
I know politics is a dirty game. The GOP is more than that these days. They are evil. Trump knew that. That's why he switched parties. Dems wouldn't have touched him with a ten foot pole.
The repubs will keep pouncing on Biden. This way they don't have to talk about all the things the slime didn't do for Americans.
America is far from great. We are a joke to the rest of the world. A pathetic joke. A ship of fools and proud of it.
No honor, decency, or respect. Thugs and bullies just like the cop who pushed down that senior. As well as the cop who pulled a decent cop away when he knelt down to help the elderly guy as he lay on the ground with a bloody head.
Oh yeah, every day I see how great America really is.
i didn't like his response either but i agree with birdgal. the other side has now decided to make this a "thing".
he's going to get pounded on for everything because our party demands perfection. unfortunately knowing that, he's going to have to play the game of fine line "keeping it real" and "playing it cool" and "getting fired up because our country depends on it now."
i agree he should not have to take that test. trump's camp is just embarrassed that their master bragged about passing it. and so they want to push some of that over to biden. misery loves company.
maybe because i've never been into guns but i had to look up history on the NRA and what their point even is. sounds like it was a noble start, and has morphed into a bunch of gun nuts hell bent on no legislation whatsoever.
Re: Biden's latest gaff - I don't even have the heart to quote it; the gist is something about the Hispanic community being very diversified versus the African American community, implying the African American community is somehow monolithic in culture, I guess.
Biden is an occasional idiot who nevertheless is decent and well-meaning.
Trump is a constant idiot (and liar) who is malicious and evil.
biden does say some stupid things. that is very true. overall, as we all know, would choose him in a heartbeat to throw me a life line over the guy who would wave smugly and take off in the other direction if i were drowning.
Is it time to have a woman leader like other countries have? Oh wait. Let me ask the men.
we will, i can feel it coming.
i'm so pleased to see the wins from this week for ultra progressive candidates. the blue wave is here and i don't see it stopping. now someone is going to cheat to try and avoid losing by a landslide but that's precisely why he won't play fair. he knows he's got no shot if he let it be fair.
This is a link to an article in Vanity Fair about Trump's followers. I think you can get to it. Something comes up on the bottom of the screen but you can still read the article. The descriptions of the followers are amazing.
birdgal, The article would have infuriated you. One thing in the article was his followers look for meaning in the mistakes he makes when typing out his twitter messages, they also look for meaning in numbers he mention.
luanne , I left the baby-killer one out since that seems to be a deal breaker for even the non-foaming-at-the-mouth Trumpers.
I know, nobody loves abortion but I believe it should be legal and up to the child-bearer, not a bunch of sperm donors.
I don't think anyone is FOR abortion. What "we" are for is a woman's choice. I know when I was pregnant, as a "older" mom I was high risk. Luckily I never had to make the choice, but if I had and chose an abortion I was very comforted to know that it could be performed by MY doctor in a safe environment.
