Looking for help/advice to transition to a Plant Based Diet. There are so many websites, almost too much information.
I just watched Forks over Knives and I’m convinced I need to do this for my health. I want to take more responsibility for my Golden Years. But how?
I guess Im looking for a ‘how to start’ book/website ... simple recipes ...
Any and all advice welcome. I’m nervous about giving up meats and dairy, but I’m ready.
Thanks in advance.

I follow several plant based youtube channels (I do several meatless meals a week, not full plant-based) :
RainbowPlantLife Caitlin Shoemaker Sweet Simple Vegan Simply Quinoa Tabitha Brown (she does a lot of personal stuff, not cooking dedicated, but some good recipe/meal ideas) (she's also on/from "goodful" which is a mostly vegan channel) Chanty Marie
You might find some useful info there.

ohsheglows.com/My DD is a vegetarian, and love this website. She has some of her cookbooks also. Vegetarian Times, Eating Well are also good places to start.

I ran across a low-carb vegan channel that I'm really enjoying as well: More salt please

healthyjoy, I don't have a specific book I recommend...or a website. I have been on and off vegetarian/vegan eating for years. I usually do the Veganuary Challenge in January and that is always interesting. I am currently more vegetarian than vegan because in Lebanon at the moment there are few imported goods and things like tofu, plant-milks and protein sources other than beans are not readily available/not being imported OR are too expensive to buy if on the shelves. So...I am vegetarian, at least for now.
I googled "transitioning to plant based eating" and a number of sites popped up.
It is a process and some say to cut back on the red meat then the poultry then the fish then the dairy and most lose the cheese last of all.
There are tons of recipe sites out there with vegetarian and vegan ideas.
I wish you luck AND feel free to post in this thread any time. Perhaps we need to start a daily thread of some sort? Not sure what it would be but...we could try it if there is an interest.

I tried this recipe and it's pretty good! I didn't like it immediately, but a day in the fridg and it was really good once the flavors had blended. Vegan ricotta cheese

One cookbook that I like is The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen by Donna Klein. I like that she uses everyday ingredients.
I first checked it out from my library. I liked it so much I then purchased it.

I first checked it out from my library. I liked it so much I then purchased it. Thank you for the recommendation. It has interesting reviews on Goodreads and looks like a cookbook that I would enjoy because it would use ingredients I would be able to find where I live.
I read/reviewed another cookbook recently that was not vegetarian or vegan but did have local ingredients and many of the recipes were vegetarian/vegan so made note of those.
It is difficult to find recipes that don't use processed foods or imported products so will see if I can find the book you mentioned or have a family member order it for me.
Thank you.

Ask questions any time. I have done a few Veganuary challenges and would go 100% vegan if I could find a few alternative protein sources to beans... I am definitely lacto-ovo vegetarian but most days totally vegan.
