It is a lot of money. I should have said something months ago, but I did not. My studio is back open and I have attended twice so far. I am also registered for Saturday. So, I am not going to say anything. Now if the studios close down again, then maybe I will. I am hoping to be back at 2 pounds over goal this week and then back to free etools. I've e-mailed and posted and messaged WW about the price. They said there is nothing they can/will do at this time. If I want to still attend VW, then I have to pay the $45 or just go digital (which you can still access the VW). They weren't very nice or helpful. Sorry, they were not nice to you. I have had good and bad experiences with WW either through email, Facebook and chat. Sometimes it may depend on who is responding. Thanks for letting me know that you contacted them about the price.

i could have sworn that i saw that WW was putting everyone with a monthly pass down to the digital subscription since the meetings were shut down. maybe i just thought that's what i heard and it wasn't true at all.
$45 a month is highway robbery.

I actually called the WW 800 number a few months back, was going to quit for a while because it wasn’t worth it to pay for non existent meetings. I got 2 free months ...
Now that my workshop is open I’m ok with paying monthly.

finreporter, I thought the same thing about the price, but what they did was bring the digital price up to the monthly pass price. I should have done what healthyjoy did and called, but I did not.

wow so they found a way to keep people paying the same price for 25% of the service. that's really quite terrible of them to do that especially when people are laid off, or got paycuts. i guess they figure if those who were laid off or got pay cuts can't afford it, they'll cancel and leave everyone else making up for mindy's ebitda targets.
limefan, i'm sorry they didn't help you out given that you're a very loyal customer.

finreporter, Thanks, Fin. It is a shame that they do not respect those who had stuck it out with them through the shut down. Fortunately, I am .2 away from being back to 2 pounds over goal (Lifetime) and I am hoping to do that next week. Then I will work really hard to continue to get the free etools. So, they will not be getting $45 from me much longer.

The comment by Mindy that 80% of the members are virtual is misleading. My membership was changed from in studio to digital with the same price tag of $45. This was not done by me, but by WW. So they skewed the numbers by relabeling those of us who were in studio to digital. That doesn't make sense .. at $45 your membership is digital plus meetings, due to the closure those meetings were virtual but still that's not a digital only membership.

What bothers me is that they ultimately plan to have levels of service (and price):
1. Digital only 2. Digital with virtual workshops 3. Monthly Pass Studio people (I assume you can still pay in meeting for just one week also).
Basically with the studios shut down people who are paying for 3 were getting 2. But they weren't paying what will be the price for 2 (somewhere between 1 and 3). They were buying charged the full price for 3 even though they weren't getting what they were paying for.

Jennifer, When I looked to see if WW had reduced the price I was paying, my membership had been changed from monthly pass to the digital plus virtual and I was still paying the same price. The earnings call states that 80% of the members were virtual, so to me I felt that it was misleading since my membership was changed from monthly pass to digital with virtual (I forgot to add virtual) without my knowledge making it look like I was a virtual member when I was really a monthly pass member whose account was changed. I just forgot to add virtual in my previous post. Kitty, I agree Kitty. Unfortunately, I did not notice that I was paying the same price as before until right before my studio reopened. I would have called and complained if I had noticed it before. WW had said they were reducing the price and I took them at that, but I guess I should have checked sooner.

Digital plus virtual membership does not exist it's digital plus studio. (Virtual was supposed to be temporary)
When they had to close their doors over 30,000 live meetings were transitioned to virtual in 3 days.
That was supposed to be for 2 weeks. :-(
Here we are 5 months later open but, barely.
I don't know what to think about the future of WW, or many other companies for that matter.
What happens to restaurants in Ohio when it gets cold? They can't seat people outside.

jae, i think you're getting tangled up in the semantics. it sounds like linefan is saying they switched her to digital plus virtual workshops because of the temporary need for all virtual meetings. and thus they kept her at the monthly pass rate because they reasoned it was the same as having digital plus studio workshops (which it's clearly not but they chose to bilk people anyway despite the fact they said they would reduce rates to digital membership during the period of time when studios were closed).

finreporter, Thanks for helping to explain what I was trying to say. Sometimes it makes sense in my head, but my fingers do not receive the message clearly. Lol.

Digital plus virtual membership does not exist it's digital plus studio. (Virtual was supposed to be temporary) When they had to close their doors over 30,000 live meetings were transitioned to virtual in 3 days. Well, yes, but sort of no. That is, yes they offered virtual "temporarily" when they had to shut down for live meetings. However, before all that in the earnings call prior, WW had said that they plan to later this year offer a digital plus virtual meetings that will be price at more than digital but less than digital for workshops. So they clearly know that it isn't "worth" as much as digital + workshops because they were going to be charging less for it. Having it be priced between digital only and digital plus workshops seems fair enough (of course, have to see the final pricing). But when Covid happened they "temporarily" switched workshop member to what is essentially digital + virtual but they kept charging people for digital + workshops. They absolutely know that is unfair because their plan was and is to eventually charge less for digital + virtual. Even though I wasn't having to pay for that as I was free lifetime it does seem very unjust and kind of a scummy thing to do.
