Dislike canned spinach, reminds me of the lousy school lunches. When DH buys it,I hide it in the back of the pantry for good drives! Love fresh spinach. I make a great spinach salad. Also, love to Saute it in olive oil and garlic. I don't own purple, it's the worse color on me, but will pray for the those that have epilepsy!

I can only eat raw spinach in a salad. Hate it cooked due to the 'mouth feel'!

I eat it a lot - fresh, sauteed in olive oil, frozen and added to soups and grain dishes. It helps me bulk up my meals and gives me added vegetable servings without much trouble.

I do like spinach, but usually eat it raw in salads. I do like it cooked sometimes too.
I do have a diagnosis of epilepsy, though it is not definitive. The type of epilepsy I'm diagnosed with is not a type that includes convulsions (Simple Partial seizures - non motor types). My mom, however, did have a type of epilepsy with visible convulsions. I didn't know it was Epilepsy Awareness Day.
My mom never wanted to tell anyone she had epilepsy. I think in her days it seemed like something to keep secret. Though she did have seizures in front of my siblings and I she would never talk about it with us. I don't feel that way though. I don't think it is anything to be embarrassed about. It is an illness like any other. I am very open about my Bipolar disorder too. I feel people need to learn about them. That is an illness with a stigma attached too. I work hard to end the stigmas of certain illnesses.

I eat it raw and cooked. I add to sandwiches instead of lettuce, I keep some sauteed with onions and marinated artichokes that I top taters (sweet and white) with, fill an omelet with, put between two fillets of sauteed fish. I also like to add some parmesan to that mixture to make a dip to dip veggies in. It's great in soups and pasta.
I also eat spinach everyday almost.

I hated spinach as a child because my mom only bought the stuff in a can. Still can't stand it that way. But, I love it raw in salads (and I also make a great spinach salad) and I love it lightly sauteed with a little olive oil and garlic. I've started adding it at the end of cooking in stir fry and spaghetti sauces and I put a few handfuls in bean soup just before serving it. Really am happy I've learned to eat it.

I could have written linda72 's post! I'd say it's my *green of choice* now and add it to a lot of foods at the end to get the nutrients. I only ate fresh for a long time, then a friend on the old boards taught me the trick of using my healthy oil, onion, and garlic to sauté it, and I became a believer.

I like it sautéed with evoo and onion best but do eat it fresh as well. I have begun to prefer swiss chard though so will eat more of that as it appears at the farmer's market. Gotta love the benefits of leafy greens!

I LOVE Spinach. Always have, even as a kid.
My mother used canned Spinach, too, but she sautéed it with garlic and then scrambled in an egg.
A favorite way to eat fresh Spinach is to sauté it with Olive oil and garlic, then after removing from the heat stir in some butter and squeeze lemon juice over the top. That, of course, is on occasions where dietary caution is thrown out the window. But I can enjoy it just sautéd the oil and garlic.
I love Swiss Chard, too, prepared in the same way.

I love Spinach, But like many of you don't like the canned stuff due to childhood memories.
I like it fresh and have recently learned to cook it (more like wilting) and I like that. I don't like when it's cooked into mush.
I have worked with many children that have seizure disorder, they don't quite call it epilepsy. But I believe it's the same thing.
I am on two different anti-epileptic medications. One to help the spasms in my legs and one to help my chronic migraines. My neurologist says that I have many symptoms of a type of epilepsy that is common with CP. However we have it managed, I've never had large convulsions and probably won't. He said unless I want it, he's not willing to put me through testing just to get a diagnosis which will then put a warning on my driver's license, make insurance go up, etc. I said I'm just fine as I am. I just know the meds work for legs and headaches, I don't need to know why.

I never knew there was canned spinach and I grew up eating canned vegetables.
I like spinach but not really on its own. I make spinach pie all the time with frozen spinach. I always keep a bag of TJs chopped frozen spinach in the freezer and add it to all sorts of things like soups. I like fresh spinach in salads, omelettes, pasta with beans, and my favorite Moroccan chickpea soup.
I like kale and Swiss chard too.
