My DD was going to buy a house, but the owner/agent did something strange, and the deal fell apart, and he took a back up offer. Something happened with the back up offer. Then the price was was raised. It's been on the market over a year. The house may not be standing after this weekend. It's in an evacuation zone. Nice house but wrong location. She got lucky, although at the time, it didn't feel like it! Something besides being close to a fire isn't right.
The air is horrible here. It has to be impossible there.

Sue, so sorry that your air is still horrible there- and I pray the fires end soon- for safety for all, especially those brave individuals who fight the fires. I am sure your daughter felt some anger and despair over losing that house- but obviously God had another plan for her, which I am so thankful for!! Was she able to eventually find another house she liked? Just saw a segment on the news covering the fires...so very sad.
Its humid here but still reasonably cool. Guess I will get my walk in soon. Think later on today I will break out the Christmas quilt kits and get acquainted with them. Ginny

Ruth- before I forget (and I have forgotten multiple times already) I emailed my congressman to request help with my tax refund. I emailed yesterday- of course do not expect any results for several days- but was encouraged by your good results asking for help that way.
Hope everyone is having a good day G

Hello Crafters Sue - I'm glad you DD didn't buy that house! I hope your air gets better soon. Ginny - That panel is really lovely, looks like classic wintery Christmas scenes. Hope you enjoy making it. I hope you get an answer back on your tax refund. Ruth, Phyl, Rene - Hope you are doing some crafting. It's hot here again, but I don't have to go outside for anything so I'm staying in where it's cooler. All the weather issues in our country are terrible. I feel for the people dealing with the fires and those that will deal with the two storms coming this week. I don't know why I'm putting off working on the Oh My Stars quilt, but I am This morning I made another sample block of a pattern that I saw a few days ago. It's called a Magic Circle and if you lean back when looking at the blocks you can see the circle formed in the center of the 4 blocks. I was just using fat quarters that I had, wish I had more of each of these fabrics so I could make a larger quilt. I think this quilt would look better with just 2 colors (and maybe solid fabrics too), but I didn't have enough of 2 of the 4 fabrics used to make 4 blocks. So I just picked some colors that seemed to work together. If you look at this blog post you can see some different samples of this quilt block: thejoyfulquilter.blogspot.com/2020/04/magic-circles.htmlHere's the sample block I made Take care everyone!

CJ, again you posted a beautiful block for us to see. I like some of the walkabouts but the last two with all the flowers I don't care for too much
Ginny, the quilt panel is beautiful. I looked at the link you posted and thought the price was for the whole kit so I thought it was an amazing price but then it seemed to be just the fabric which would make sense at that price. Are you making two of the same one?
I worked on the shawl yesterday as I mentioned then got bored with it because it's so repetitive. I stopped then and made a couple earwarmers and some more today. Since it's only 9:15 I'll probably work on the shawl some more.I hope everyone had a nice weekend
Sue that, indeed had to be God's hand protecting your dd from having her house burn and maybe even worse.
Smoke here is clearing away but it's been darker than usual all day probably because the smoke is higher in the air and shutting off a lot of sunlight.
