This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone Welcome to September. I'm really looking forward to some cooler weather. The Beck review has started and I'm hoping to focus on it and be successful. I appreciate the support I receive here. I went out and did some shopping today, groceries and a drug store (the first time I've been in one since March). I also had the oil changed in my car. I'm trying to get all the things done that I've put off during the virus crisis. Hope all of you are doing well. Have a great day!

DotRen - Those are some high temperatures! Hope you can stay inside and stay cool and that your weather gets better soon. It's hot and humid here, but nothing like that. Hope everyone is doing well today. I had to go out shopping again today since one of my Kindles "died" yesterday I have an older one that still works, but it doesn't hold the battery charge very well. I use my Kindle many hours during the day for reading books and going on the Internet, so I needed to replace the one that broke. Take care everyone

Cj I live on my kindles, too lol. I read every day.
JD is in dire need of a haircut and he won't let me trim it. Between his long, wavy hair, beard and mustache, he's starting to look like the unibomber lol. I'm surprised that his job people haven't said anything about it because he can pretty much make a decent pony-tail right now.

DotRen - I'd be lost without my Kindle I'm always reading a book and I like to play Bingo Blitz on it too. Hope your son will give in and let you cut his hair, it has to feel hot, I know my hair drives me crazy in the summer (even though it's only should length. I always have it in a pony tail. Hope everyone is doing well today. I'm still working on the Beck Review. It would easy to quit, but I know I need to stick to it and try to get something out of this review like I did the last one. My eating hasn't been that great though, but the last few days have been stressful. The next couple days should be quieter. Take care everyone!

Hello Everyone I'm catching up with my Beck reading this weekend. I posted on the other board that I'm feeling about half in-half out of doing the review at this point. I hope that if I stick with it, I'll want to keep going. A lot of things that I start not wanting to do I find that I really enjoyed when I stuck it out. So I powered up my new Kindle yesterday and got it all set up and then thought I would check my old one again, just to see if it would come on before I decided what to do with it. I'd already tried several times over several days and it wouldn't start. Well wouldn't you know that thing started right up So I powered down and turned off the new one and I'll put it aside for awhile. Guess I just need to check it and use it from time to time. I know my older one is going to go at some point, so at least then I'll have another backup. Weather is less humid and lower temps here today, so I have my windows open instead of the AC. Hope your weather is nice and you all have a great weekend

Hello! dotren That’s so funny he won’t let you cut it. I just cut my son’s hair for the first time - he’s 7 though, so he could not care less. I was so excited, my first haircut! My neighbor liked it so much he asked me to do his. I wasn’t going to pass up that learning opportunity. He liked it too. DH on the other hand, won’t let me touch him. Win some lose some I guess? lol sunrose49 I’m having a hard time with stress and eating too. So I’ve been trying to really focus on myself one day a week - Sunday’s seem to work the best - and it’s really helping me to get centered mentally. How long it lasts is another story. cj59 Great seeing you on the Beck review. I’m afraid I’m going to lose my momentum and fall of the bandwagon, but I’m hoping that sticking with it will be a side effect of... sticking with it? I hope you get that inspiration you’re looking for! I tracked my food today - after eating like 4 cookies. But it helped me make a better decision about dinner. Tracking is invaluable. I forget what I eat but when I’m looking at the numbers I make good choices. Good luck everyone! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

Good morning
dotren, too funny on cutting his hair while sleeping.
cj, what kind of books do you like to read? I've had my kindle for several years now. I hope it keeps going.
irisinnia, focusing on yourself one day a week is a great idea.
I cut half the grass yesterday and will do the other half today. Beautiful weather today and yesterday.

I'm on the last book of "The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne". If you like fantasy with a lot of myth and history, this is a good series- and lots of humor

Hello Everyone irisinnia - We'll have to help and support each other through the Beck review - I know we can stick with it till the end You are right about tracking. I did that every day for over 3 years and then I stopped and started eating junk. I'm getting ready to start tracking again, since I know I have to do it to be successful. sunrose - I'm glad you were able to get your grass cut while the weather was nice. I like "light" reading, mostly romances and some contemporary women stories, drama and historical books. There are several authors that I read that have series and I've read all of them (sometimes 10 or more books), so it's like you get to be a part of the family and towns they live in. It's a nice escape from real life for me. I had a migraine all yesterday afternoon and into the evening before it finally went away. I'm hoping to avoid one today. My "tech" issue for the day is that I can't get the sliding door on my DVD player to open. It won't open with the remote, or the button on the DVD machine and I've tried poking at it which I'm going to do again today. I have a bunch of DVDs that I'd like to watch and then either just donate or throw out, so I hope I can get it to open. Hope everyone has a good day!

Ron grilled yesterday. He grills maybe 3x a year. He'd do it more but I find a reason to stop him lol. He's awful at it! Me: plans and preps everything, then cleans up afterwards. Him: pour charcoal into bbq pit, add liberal - LIBERAL -amounts of lighter fluid. Toss match, admire his work. While flames are still roaring to the sky, toss on whatever he's grilling. Cook 2 minutes, turn and cook 2 more minutes, remove -eat. Seriously he always does this. T-bones: charred to cinder on the outside, raw inside. Sausages: burnt. Chicken: burnt and raw; tosses back on more burnt and still raw; tosses back on; (me) tosses in trash when he's not looking. And it all tastes like charcoal lighter lol.
As we say in the South "well bless his heart". I've tried to ask him to wait 10 minutes for the coals/flame to settle down, but his "dad always grilled like this" - ugh.
