This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey

Here it is Tuesday and where is everyone?
Linda, I laughed hard at your post on Sunday evening about your dinner experience. I would have loved to have been there with you.
I have been avoiding the news and have not had the TV on much the past few days.
Have a great day.

I keep Fox News on most of the day when I am home mostly for noise in an otherwise quiet day. Can't believe what I read on Facebook especially if it's political from both the right and the left. The only news I trust is that backed up by Fox News.
Old age pains in my neck, back, knees, and feet today, but life goes on. Got laundry, shopping, and cooking to do today.

Just got home from doctor. Guess somehow I pulled a muscle in my back and he put me on a muscle relaxer and said to stay home from work a couple days. I have next week off anyway so instead of 8 days off I now get 10! Wish I could enjoy it. I tried to keep going yesterday. I had grocery shopping to do and cooking and cleaning up the kitchen, but today I am down for the count. Still have to pick up my prescription though.

Evening all. Meg, thanks for the start-up. I've not been watching much news (never did watch much TV news) but don't really spend much time reading on-line either. Sure am sick and tired of the MSM harping on and on and on about Russia. Maxine Waters acts more insane every day. Hillary calls Sean Spicer a sexist (LOL, that's rich coming the wife wife of a predator), the MSM ignores Podesta's and his family's involvement with Russians, nobody in the MSM ever talked about Hillary's and Obama's involvement with George Soros, a dangerous and evil man. I would best most people don't have a clue who George Soros is.
Been busy at work and also having physical issues....somehow twisted my knee and its been throbbing at night....so of course I had to do dr. google...now I've diagnosed myself with all kinds of things. Gary....we need to be careful with our backs.
And how about that dem rep from the Boston area? Giving illegals a heads up that ICE raids will be in their neighborhood and then posts instructions on her facebook page about how you should not answer the door.....this has to be some kind of violation of her ethics....kind of like warning the drug dealers in the neighborhood about impending undercover operations. Unbelievable.
I see the libs are up in arms because Bill O'Reilly made a comment about Maxine Water's hair looking like James Brown;s hair. How come nobody ever gets up in arms about Rachel Maddow and her comments about Trump .... or remember all those comments about Sarah Palin? Nobody seemed to mind.....in fact, it seemed like it was the "cool" thing to do. Why is it that it is okay to call Trump and his wife everything in the book, but God forbid you say something about a dem? And why is his comment considered racist? Maybe he should have said Elvis Presley's hair? What difference does it make? Really gets tiring ... the libs constantly looking for some kind of racism angle when there really isn't any.
I hope all my fellow republicans and/or conservatives are well. Lin

Finally.....another Dem/Lib has spoken the TRUTH about the failed Hillary compaign. The first was (according to me) Joe Biden.....he made a statement soon after the election about how was watching a Trump rally taking place in the Scranton area (Biden's home town) and I remember him saying something like "I was watching the crowds and their reactions and I thought to myself 'we could lose this thing'". The second was when someone from her campaign....my memory fails me, but it was someone important on her campaign staff....admitted that the "basket of deplorables" comment really hurt her campaign. And now this:
Brian Fallon, National Press Secretary for the failed Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, told audiences at Yale University Wednesday that what he called the “Breitbart effect” was a “profound” obstacle his team did not see coming.
“One of the realities that I don’t think was truly appreciated by our campaign was just how profound the Breitbart effect was in cultivating a standalone ecosystem in conservative media that very aggressively and successfully promoted certain stories and narratives we had a blind-spot for during the campaign,” Fallon said.
Fallon offered Breitbart News a grudging respect as he expressed his disappointment that his campaign’s attacks on Trump did not have the devastating effect he might have hoped for in another era. “The right has innovated a really good infrastructure,” he said, “that not only insulated Donald Trump from criticism that should be driving his numbers down, but has brought the conversation to the right.”
***** I'm sure there are people reading this that have no idea what Breitbart is. It is an on-line news outlet, very conservative. A great number of people starting to gravitate toward this news site.....people were getting darn sick and tired of the majority of news outlets more or less being an extension of Hillary's campaign staff and were seeking out alternative news sources. Even Fox News was getting a little tiring....same recycled stories every 30 minutes or so. To me, Breitbart is the conservative's answer to Huffington Post (you would be hard pressed to find a more liberal, left leaning on-line news outlet....our "friends" cut and paste from their site constantly). And their senior editor, Steve Bannon is the "Bannon" that the MSM keeps harping about and demonizing....because he is now part of Trump's inner circle in the White House. LOL, I know how they feel, I felt the same way when it was revealed that liberal news people (Carville and others) would have daily morning telephone conferences with Rahm Emmanual.....who was Obama's Chief of Staff I believe....now the Mayor of that death capital, Chicago.
Good night. Gary, hope your back is better. Don't drive a car while on muscle relaxants. Lin

Sorry, just came across something else that is really unbelievable. Everyone knows that when you leave a company....whether or not it is your own doing or the company's...you are usually marched out the front door....no computer access, no files, no customer contacts...nothing!!! Take a look at this from Fox News....you know, it must be false because our "neighbors" refer to it as "Faux News".....I think they are confusing it with their favie MSNBC...or perhaps CNN..anyway:
When Hillary Clinton resigned as Secretary of State in 2013, she negotiated continuing access to classified and top-secret documents for herself and six staffers under the designation "research assistants," according to a powerful senator who notes that Clinton was later deemed "extremely careless" with such information.
The staff apparently retained access even after Clinton announced her run for president in April 2015, according to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. The access was ostensibly granted to facilitate work on Clinton's memoir, but Grassley said he was only able to verify it after the Obama administration left the White House.
“I have repeatedly asked the State Department whether Secretary Clinton and her associates had their clearances suspended or revoked to which the Obama Administration refused to respond,” Grassley wrote in a March 30 letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
“Recently, the State Department informed the Committee that six additional Secretary Clinton staff at State were designated as her research assistants which allowed them to retain their clearances after leaving the Department,” Grassley added.
The State Department has not yet responded to an inquiry from Fox News as to whether Clinton, or her staff, including then-chief of staff Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin, her traveling chief of staff and former assistant, who went on to become the vice chair of her presidential campaign, and Jake Sullivan, her senior policy advisor, still have access to the classified and top-secret archives and systems.
Clinton could not immediately be reached for comment. ****************** Good grief. We are not talking about customer contacts and personal contact stuff for future clients here (as in when you work for a corporation and they are worried about you taking your clients with you when you leave)....we are talking National Security here!!!!! This is INSANE!!! Hillary was NO LONGER part of the Obama Administration....why was she allowed continued access to this stuff....and six additional people......how scary is this? Is this being reported on CNN or MSBNC? I really don't have time to check it out...past my bedtime. Good night again. L.

Hm, I wondering what Joe Biden might be up to. He has said it again, he could have won the election if he ran. I think not, but anyway, he gave some kind of talk at UPenn where I believe he has some kind of teaching position. He seems to be distancing himself from the "Russia Russia Russia" thing. **** During a speech at the University of Pennsylvania on Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden argued that in 2016, the Democratic Party “did not talk what it always stood for, and that is how to maintain a burgeoning middle class.”
Biden continued that 2016 was the first campaign he could remember “where, my party did not talk what it always stood for, and that is how to maintain a burgeoning middle class. And the truth of the matter is, you didn’t hear a single solitary sentence in the last campaign about that guy working on the assembly making $60,000 a year, and the wife making $32,000 as a hostess in a restaurant…and they’ve got two kids, and they can’t make it, and they’re scared, and they’re frightened.” He further stated that while on the macro level, globalization has been a phenomenal success, but it has “left people behind.”
Biden later said, “[Y]ou know, all those angry white men, you know, we talk about, that are racist. Guess what? Barack and I won them. Let’s get this straight. It wasn’t racist. They voted for a black man, twice in a row, but they didn’t this time. They didn’t this time, because they look out there, and they’re scared and no one’s talking to them.” ****** I think he must seethe every time he thinks about what a terrible candidate Hillary was. And I honestly thinks he take too much credit for Obama winning, but then that's just me.

I'm getting confused about all the convolutions this Russian investigation is getting into. It's worse than Watergate. I totally believe Russia has been involved with influencing our elections but I don't see any involvement of the Trump team except for Flynn. Who knows where this is all going to end up.
On a personal note, my back is somewhat better today after being on muscle relaxants for a couple of days. At least I don't have shooting pain every time I move like I was. Now my back just hurts all the time! Hopefully, I am on the mend. I finally got my taxes together for my tax preparer so I will take that in Monday. I am later than usual. Looking forward to our semi-annual LDS church conference this weekend. I will be watching all 5 2-hour sessions on the BYU channel so I don't have to get ready for church.

Hi I am new to this board. I've been on the other WW board but have no desire to post in political threads there because people have become rude if they even suspect you might not be a Trump hater. I need a place that is not facebook to throw out my thoughts and concerns without getting blasted from either party because I have a doubt or a positive comment. So glad I found this thread.

If you post on a liberal leaning board, you will never get treated with any respect no matter what you say or how you say it. There will be a few who will try to treat you with respect and have a conversation, but they will be overcome by the folks who will start the name calling.
I hate that it is that way. I will never understand folks on either side who will abandon treating friends and relatives with respect all to support polititions on either side who are not even worthy of wiping the boots of the average American.

Welcome! We don't all agree here on all things, but I think we all agree that we are so much better off without a Hillary president!
Poor Joe Biden. One day after he made that speech at UPENN...about how his party just didn't "speak" to the core of traditional Dems....here comes the new voice of the DNC, new Chair Joe Perez. Here is what he said at a rally in Newark, NJ: Tom Perez on Friday night said President Trump “didn’t win the election” and suggested the Republican Party doesn’t care about voters.
The comments by Perez, Labor secretary under President Obama, appear to leave little doubt about the direction in which he will try to take the struggling committee.
“Donald Trump, you don’t stand for our values. You didn’t win this election,” Perez said at the rally hosted by the New Jersey Working Families Alliance.
"We have a bully in Washington in the White House," he also said, according to several news reports.
****** Way to go Perez....what a great way to bring those dems back into the fold. I say....keep it coming!!!! More and more will turn their backs to you. You may appeal to some, but seriously? This is the guy that is supposed to bring unity back? Why would any sane person go along with hateful speech like that?

Also, remember the big outcry from libs whenever a national voting I.D. thing is mentioned? It's racist, unfair to the poor, blah blah blah. Why is it, then, that Rahm Emanuel, mayor of that great city of Chicago, has come up with a wonderful i.d. plan for illegal immigrants to register without fear of being deported in order to collect WELFARE PAYMENTS?? Does anyone else see the hypocrisy in this plan? I surely don't understand why the people of Chicago continue to vote these people into office.
The “Municipal ID” plan is Emanuel’s latest bid to resist the effort of the Justice Department and remain what he has called a “welcoming city.” Emanuel’s new City Clerk Anna Valencia’s website describes the Municipal ID as “an optional, valid, government-issued ID that they can then use to access a range of services from both the private and public sectors. ”
In addition to ensuring access for illegals to government programs, the Clerk’s Office also claims to be “working with cultural institutions, sports teams, pharmacies, local chambers of commerce and community organizations to explore potential discounts and partnerships.”
The Sun-Times also reported that the Municipal ID program itself will cost Chicago taxpayers $1 million in its first year of implementation.
**************** Is it just me that thinks that all of these illegals accessing free government "stuff" kind of takes things away from American citizens that are not well off? Why should my tax money go towards shoring up these federal programs....what will all of these recipients do to make my country a better place?
And yet another reason why we have a PRESIDENT TRUMP.

Lin, You are right the people in Chicago and other cities with similar problems need to rise up and get rid of these jerks that are in office now. I have had a busy day. I am getting too old for busy days.
Lots of prayers for President Trump.
