Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
FRESH START MONDAY! What is your accountability for the week?
MOVE MORE ACCOUNTABILITY Steps Taking Stairs Counter push ups Your choice
SLEEP ACCOUNTABILITY How many hours do you need? How many do you get? What can you do to help yourself?
NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY Ugly and good days Drink more water Drink your height in water….68 inches tall equals 68 ounces of water….add 8 ounce every seven days One or more fruit daily One or more vegetable daily Track nutritional intake Grocery List Share a healthy recipe Low Sugar, limit added sugar to 24 grams or less Pre lose the five pound holiday gain AF/AIM/AIE
JOURNAL YOUR NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY
HAPPINESS ACCOUNTABILITY
What did you do for yourself today? Motivational quote
HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY What new habit are you establishing?
CHECK IN DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY
Scale of 1 -5 …how is your day going? Just say NO - pick a food you won’t indulge in. Even healthy foods can be indulgences.
TIME MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY Need to do, should do, want to do Organize yourself with lists
Let's be accountable and supportive to each other. As always no judgement, just encouragement, and if needed, tough love though we are usually toughest on ourselves. Set your accountability goals and let's get to work.

Love the new challenge! Hope that being more specific will pay off. I took my meds as soon as I got up yesterday and waited for the soreness to subside before walking. DH & DS went along and played some basketball while I continued to do laps around the basketball court. Found that when my shins started hurting, that if I stopped to stretch and rest the pain subsided. After breakfast, DS went home but is coming back today. I think we'll do our Labor Day picnic fare today instead of tomorrow. I didn't feel that great, so spent a lot of time on the couch watching TV and napping. Probably why I didn't sleep that well last night. I did finally get off the couch in the afternoon to clean the bathrooms and wash the windows on the french doors leading to the back porch. The weather has turned a bit cooler and the humidity is lower. Looking forward to getting out there again for a walk.
Jan- Sorry about the flea market. It's hard to know what's safe to do.
Murphy- So glad you were comforted by the online service for Robin. Yay for getting out the fall decor!
GG- Hope your neck and hips are better. Enjoy your Rylee time!
Cindy- It's been a while, but I have had filets that melt in the mouth. Thanks for the new challenge- love it!
Cathy- WTG AF/OP/clothes fitting better. So close to the 170's!

FRESH START MONDAY! MOVE MORE ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Got my 10,000 steps, 10 AP SLEEP ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Slept well, cool breeze in the window, quiet cats NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY 1 Had beers with dinner??? HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY 3 Trying to drink more water, less soda CHECK IN DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY 5 Here! And love the challenge TIME MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY 3 Still time "wasted" but mostly got done what I planned. Need to make a list BUILD YOUR WALL OF RESOLVE CHALLENGE September 6 - October 31 September 6 start weight: 199 September 13: September 20: September 27: October 4: October 11: October 18: October 25: October 31 final weight: START BUILDING! BUT DON'T OVERWHELM YOURSELF...Brick by brick, step by step brings results! Good morning. Love this! I may just focus on one or two to start but know I need to continue working on Nutritional and Habit. Too easy for me to get sidetracked these days. Part of my brain is on the WW is a lifestyle so I can fit things in, but right now I need to treat it like a "DIET" and relearn how to say no to temptations and mindless grazing. It helps when I pre plan, don't have the junk in the house and stay busy doing other things. I have convinced DH not to buy wine but now he'll buy 2 kinds of beer, a dark one I don't like and then something else...which I usually find "attractive". Today I really will focus on the FRESH START MONDAY part. I want to lose at least the 5# Covid disaster and I need to break up with Ice Cream. First baby step is to be AF for this week. I did have a lovely day yesterday. Drove to the flea market, enjoyed the ride in the country, and it helped me get my steps. I bought a pumpkin and a basket of mixed fall flowers for the front porch. I also explored the town and found an amazing bakery, uh oh, good thing it's about an hour away! We made a yummy chicken enchilada bake for dinner and I would have been fine but the witching hour still gets me and once I have the beer, I get into the sweets. Need some of that yellow caution tape to close off the kitchen after dinner. I will just have to make up my mind to do this, and do it. Hope you all great success and when I need some tough love, I know where to find it. Maybe my mojo will come home today! Jan Cindy Thanks for the challenge. Hope you can repost later. Cathy I see a new decade in your future soon!! Congrats!! Hope the water is fixed tomorrow. Amy I'm glad you filled in the actual challenges, that encouraged me to do it also. I think it will be great that you will get to see more of DS. Hope that the meds will make you feel better, good idea to stretch as you walk. Is there a pool you could use too? Maybe water walking would be more gentle for a bit. Glad the weather is cooling off. Murphy What are you up to today? Did the choir sing? Are you doing hotel ministry? Have fun with your family. GG yay for Rylee coming over, hope you are feeling better and can enjoy the time. Hi to all.

Hello friends! We ended up picking up Tyler on Friday. His roommate, who normally drives him, wasn’t leaving until Saturday. Yesterday was beautiful out, I think the last pool day. It’s raining today, thank God! I think the afternoon is supposed to be nice. DH is making pasta sauce from his Garden tomatoes, I think I’m going to vacuum out my car, it’s a mess.
Amy, how are your gym shoes? Maybe you need more support or something. I bet DS is so happy to have you near him. How is dad doing?
Cindy, I love the challenge! Thank you. I think I need to do the happiness journal. I am becoming very angry over everything going on in the world. Need to focus on my many blessings.
Jan, DH and I went for a walk last night and a cat was on the sidewalk that wanted some scratches. He was so sweet! I’ve seen him before, I hope he has a home. DH would not let me take him, besides ds is very allergic.
Cathy, I hope the water gets straightened out. It’s amazing what I take for granted!
Murphy, I’m glad you were able to see the celebration of Robins life. Do you have to work tomorrow? I do. Only 5:45-10:30. The kids will probably be getting up when I get home!
Gg, take care of your neck and hips!
Have a great rest of the day!

Hi all. Have had a good day, now if Carole would just watch some TV and let me get ahead of her on the step challenge We went to Lowes and then spread 15 more bags of bark. Also moved some rocks, weeded and then I was done! I also had gotten in a walk so I will keep moving until I get my 10,000 steps. Probably an early to bed night, some reading and for now I'm going to work on my X-stitch. Easier to manage with my kitty helpers than my knitting! Squeaking out a Blue dot, 30/23 but happy with that. Supposed to get some big rain storms tonight. we'll see what develops, glad we got the yard work done. Hope you all have a quiet and peaceful evening. Take care, Jan

Hi All!
Day got away from me...for no reason. So here are some thoughts.
Every storm runs out of rain
Invest in Yourself: Meditate, Read, Eat Healthy, Drink Water, Move your Body, Rest up, YOU are worthy
Be happy in the Moment that’s enough, each moment is all we need, not more
Will start the challenge in the morning!
Hugs, Cindy
