Still haven't figured out how to put commentary on the same re as the picture. I guess you have to do that first. Anyway that's the treble crochet cluster stitch. The dark gray in the yarn isn't really as dark as it looks on there

Ruth, I have not figured out how to post a picture with a commentary included either. Think you are right, you have to add the link for the picture after you post content. I will check out that shawl... looks pretty!!!! But remember me, I am the crocheted challenged one....lets hope I can figure it out.

well both of the links I sent are very easy and from what I've seen I don't believe you're crochet challenged. The treble stitch is not on either of those links and it's harder only because you have to keep a better track than you do on these two. I haven't done the hug me shawl yet but it looks very fast and easy.Did you see the links and the picture of the treble cluster that are on page 2?

Good morning all-
Ruth, I think I will probably end up using the Aja Joy video- if I can muddle my way through it. I love written directions so that might be the only stumbling block to that pattern. Thanks so much for locating that pattern for me, I tried looking for myself and found there is a sea of patterns out there....its a bit overwhelming.
The pillowcase is officially done. Surely not my best work, but this project has always been meant for me anyway. I will be working on some pillowcases for my grandkids....and that will be a different story. When I started these I realized I did not have all the different DMC colors so I improvised and substituted colors that I had.
Not sure what today has on tap. Someone is coming to evaluate my wood burner this morning, then I have many phone calls to make. BBL Ginny

Hello Crafters Ruth - Those shawls are pretty, thanks for the links. I like the gray/white swatch you posted too. Ginny - Your pillowcase embroidery is beautiful. I'm sure the grandkids will love whatever you make for them. It's been warm and humid here, with quite a bit of rain yesterday. I lost power for about 25 minutes and I'm glad it wasn't any longer since I was dreading having to bail water out of the sump pump area. I finished the log cabin quilt. It was quick to make and just something fun to do. I'm not sure what I'll work on next, I'm not feeling motivated right now to do any crafting. Hope everyone has a good weekend

CJ- hope that the cold front comes through for you also. Sometime late morning my temperature and humidity fell. So very glad to hear that your electricity was only out for a short while....agree it would not be pleasant to have to manually bail out the sump. The log cabin quilt is done already??? Wow you work quickly, but I am really glad that you are happy with the project. Take a break.....and you will find inspiration to start another project soon enough. Its great that you have those quilt kits that you put together a week or so ago- perfect for when the inspiration does hit you! Do you think you will attempt that cute pumpkin quilt that you posted a picture of?
The closest I got to crafting today was to soak the pillowcase . Perhaps later I will work on something. Ginny

So far today all I did with crafting is think about it. Sounds like you two haven't done much crafting today either.
Today and I think during the night it rained quite a bit so it did melt almost all the remaining snow. It was snowing on the mountain though so a lot is up there.
I'm having second thoughts about the edge I put on the one side of that treble cluster stitch strip. I planned to put it on the other side too, of course, but now I'm not too sure.I have started the second side so may make a few rows to see how it works out but the fp and bp stitches are pulling in so I don't know if continuing will make that better or if it will remain looking uneven. Guess I'll find out but I won't be happy if I just wasted almost a while week on this.
I did do some cooking so I guess that's crafting as I crafted some calzones.
I hope you all have a good night.

Happy Saturday all! CJ- hope that you slept well last night. I just checked temps in your general area and it still seems like summer there. I know you are not a fan of summer weather.....we have sure had that discussion before. Looks like in about 2 days the night time temps start to fall for you- and hopefully its better for you and you can put the air conditioners away. Cannot wait to see what you work on next.....
Ruth, wish I could wave a magic wand and fix the issue with the fp and BP stitches pulling in. And yes, I don't blame you one bit for thinking that perhaps you have wasted a week- I just hope that you can figure something out that does not involve taking too many stitches out. Sometimes these problems correct themselves....and sometimes they do not. Gonna agree with you and say that those yummy calzones count as crafting.
Slept poorly until I switched to DD’s bed. ( I started in my bed, cause I wanted to watch a show and then found it was uncomfortable). I did watch the youtube last night on the pocket shawl that Ruth suggested- its a good video and yes, I think even a lame crocheter like me can handle it. Of course now after watching the video I want to make this in a color instead of using up the large amount of POL antique white that I have. I should cut my losses and just use up the POL, which is why I wanted a project like that anyway.
I keep hearing about fires in California and hope that Sue is ok (I know she does not live in Cali but know her area has been crippled by fires). Phyl, you have been quiet for a few days. Hope you are doing ok. Rene- did you ever work on that tunic that you were hoping to make??I remember you bought fabric for a project and then figured you would use that fabric for a blouse/tunic because it was light weight.
Take care all Ginny
Going for a walk this am with my friend.....not sure what the rest of the day holds. Ginny

Hello Crafters Ginny - Hope you enjoyed the walk and have a good day. Ruth - Hope you can figure out what to do on your project. The calzones sounds good, I'm sure your DH enjoyed them. Phyl - I hope you are feeling well, please check in when you can. Sue - Hope the fires are getting better. Rene - Hope you are doing some crafting. It is a lot cooler here today, so I have the windows open. I'm hoping to remove the window AC from my bedroom this coming week. Looks like most of the temps will be in the 70s from here on out and I can use fans and open windows if it gets too warm. I started on another project - pressing the fabrics and cutting some of the pieces. The pattern I'm using is Layer Cake Custard from the Fat Quarter Shop. Their version has 35 blocks in it, but I'm going to do a quilt top with just 20 blocks. Here's their blog about it with some different versions: blog.fatquartershop.com/shortcut-quilt-layer-cake-custard/I'm using a novelty fabric for the large blocks - it has carousel horses on it. I loved this fabric and kept looking at it in the quilt shop and finally bought some a few years ago. I'll get some pictures this weekend to share with you. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Take care
