Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
FRESH START MONDAY! What is your accountability for the week?

TIME MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY Need to do, should do, want to do Organize yourself with lists
Let's be accountable and supportive to each other. As always no judgement, just encouragement, and if needed, tough love though we are usually toughest on ourselves. Set your accountability goals and let's get to work.

Happy Labor Day! Had to cut the morning walk short yesterday, just too painful to continue. I've decided that I'm going to listen to my body and not push exercise until I talk with a doctor. DH & went to Publix before lunch and got what we needed for a Labor Day feast. DS came over in the afternoon and we played Winky Dink, DS & I won- yay! After dinner, we watched Tooth Fairy with The Rock. Silly, but enjoyable. DS spent the night, since he's off today. I posted my symptoms on a nurse's page on Facebook. I'm getting tons of responses, some helpful, some wacky.
Jan- Glad you enjoyed the flea market and got some fall decor. Yay for getting a blue dot! There is a community pool, but we haven't got our passes yet.
Carole- Good idea to focus on your blessings and less on what makes you angry. Yay for having Ty home and both nice weather and needed rain. My shoes are relatively new.
Cindy- Thanks for sharing your thoughts, something to strive for.
Cathy- WTG AF, OP, walking. Hope the water situation is resolved soon.

BUILD YOUR WALL OF RESOLVE CHALLENGE September 6 - October 31 September 6 start weight: 199 September 13: Today's quote for me: There is no magic to achievement. It's really about hard work, choices and persistence. M. Obama Good morning all. Feeling like I had a successful day. When the ship wanted to sink, I turned it around and made a different choice. Had my Squirt and seltzer for dinner time. no after dinner treats and worked on some of my projects to keep busy. Never got any rain overnight but it is windy and kind of gray this morning, see what happens. Making my list for today. Have a lot of veggies in the house to roast up or cook somehow. Need to cut up my watermelon so I will eat that when I'm looking for snacks. Was sharing "notes" last night with DS who said he will be food prepping today to take things to work. He's going to be making a big pot of brown rice, chicken, green beans etc. I'm so proud of him...glowing mom face here....Last night they did air fried fish tacos, night before shrimp and mushroom risotto!! Who is that kid! I will get in some exercise today, need to add in the counter push ups or something. Lugging around those bags of bark showed how my upper body strength is lacking!! Also need to start cleaning out some of the backyard plants that are getting finished for fall. Guess there will still be Labor here on Labor Day. Hope you all have a good one. Jan Amy Listen to your body. I had some Planter Fasciitis for awhile and just wouldn't stop walking thinking it would just get better, had to finally really rest it, stretch and let it heal. Be patient. Glad you had a good family day. When will your other DS get to come visit? Cindy Thanks for the words, this "storm" will also pass at some point. Cathy Fingers crossed for water today!! Carole Does Ty go back today? Will you close the pool this next week? Hope work was quiet. Hi to all.

Cindy: I LOVE this challenge! I read so fast online and skim through things, including my WW journey. This truly will make me slow down and I thank you for that!
Amy: I love that you are having more family time!! Is the community pool indoor or outdoor? I cancelled my subscription to the Y yesterday. I haven’t gone since March. It’s 30 minutes away and now I won’t be going over twice a week to work. I do have to come up with stuff I can do here though.
Jan: I cut up watermelon yesterday! I’m going to enjoy it while I can!
Carole: I’m amazed that you are willing to get up so early to work!
Cathy: As I read your post, I realized it’s not a holiday for you! Hope the water gets straightened out!

Hi friends! Work was very slow and then very crowded! I haven’t seen it this packed since March. People were truly annoying me today. One lady complained to me that a man on the rowing machine wasn’t wearing a mask (he didn’t have to) was talking to a man with a mask on. I asked her, a few times, what’s the problem? He is talking without a mask! And.....!! She said everyone is afraid to say anything to him. And then gave me the evil eye !
Amy, it’s best to listen to your body. Did you find a dr?
Jan, ty goes back today. It was mice to have him. He has “try outs” for baseball tomorrow, with the new coach. It’s supposed to rain so we’ll see what happens.
Gg, I thought my friend was working early too, that’s why I said I’d work. Plus it’s an hour later than my usual morning hours! (Plus I took tomorrow off!)
Cindy, hows your wrist feeling?
Cathy, are people abiding the curfew now?

Hi All!
Umm, right hand is back in a cast....was experiencing pain, had it checked...there were some hairline fractures that had not been addressed. Thought is another week...perhaps I was using it a bit too much?? The Ortho Doc was in today and he made the decision. I always love to see doctor's PAs and have trust in them. My mojo has not returned so now I have an excuse??
I have not started the challenge for myself but glad it is working out for us. I need to change font/size on some stuff.
I need to get on track and move past some issues I have raised in my own mind that has nothing to do with the challenge.
I am sorry I have not done personals but hope springs eternal for tomorrow!
Hugs to all, Cindy
