Jan hooray for fun with sweetie, my knee is not ready for dancing yet -- I tried the other night. I worked on a rush job instead of swimming last night.
I am very sorry Sally. Awful thing, I somehow missed it when I read your post yesterday and I apologize for that.

I did make it to the gym for a quick workout, home ab circuit, healthy shopping, cooked up a bunch of salmon. I just got hired on a rush job so am going to dig into that right now. Happy Friday to all- Nat: what is a psych social clerk? will that be virtual? Im curious... To all- happy healthy knee wishes- they are a pain and so limiting! Feeling vulnerable today- 911, west coast fires, COVID, Trump, BUT then there is baby Nora to help me keep perspective... I would like to WI below 140 next week.... that's my plan. What goals do you have on your radar?

Happy Friday.
September Goals: In order to achieve my goal of getting back on track after this past 6 months of bad habits I have enlisted the help of a friend to be my "Good Health and Diet Buddy". I am going to weigh in to her once a week and have her help keep me accountable. That is what WW always did for me. Need this. Received my Bollywood dance DVDs today. I have to make this fun or I won't do it. Yes, I will! Will let you know how hard it is on the knees.
Nat: Good luck on the new job! Challenging yourself to learning new things is always a better option in my mind.
Sally: Yes, 9/11 brings back sad memories. I can't watch the footage any more. Just can't.
Grocery shopped today instead of yesterday and brought home healthy diet foods. Halloween candy calling my name but walked on by...salty crunchy stuff (and bread) has been my downfall so I will have to break that habit fast if I want to get back to losing (instead of gaining) weight. My love affair with chips must end!!!

Yes I did: --try to Zoom my Tap class this morning only to find it was cancelled! So I had to switch to the next higher level. It is going to be a challenge for sure. I will have to practice a lot to keep up with it! --enjoy a nice walk at the ex-golf course before dinner --look at the sky for awhile tonight & got out the binoculars because Mars was so bright we thought at first it was a UFO!
yes I can: --sleep better, I hope...that's my goal for September, too

Jan, great to have buddies. Hope videos work out and I got my knee brace at CVS but never remember to wear it.
Carol, great to have a challenging dance class and a good night's sleep.
Yes I did yesterday: get out a rush job, spinning class, start yard, and cook the chicken to make soup with it. It is interesting preparing stuff that I do not taste. I am no longer vegan and eat fish/yogurt/eggs but the rest of the animal products - ick. I have already started a load of wash this morning after almost ten hours of blissful deep uninterrupted sleep.
Yes I can: make soup in crockpot. Not making bread until tomorrow. Friend had surgery and Jan has inspired me to cook for the healing. I will take some soup to the neighbor in radiation. Prayers and blessings for healing to everyone. Okay: finish soup, finish yard, make time for a rewarding swim. Dinner and a movie in the new normal at MF's house. We are discovering a lot of parks which is simply a gift! Okay none of that will get done unless I start! love light and blessings janet

Good Saturday Afternoon, π₯π₯!
Yes I Did: --WW Zoom, good WI (at home) good talk but only 8 of us on. Still, It was helpful! --neighborhood walk before breakfast . It was 54Β°....has warmed now. Sunny. --cleaned out my trunk and tidied the laundry room. Yay!
Yes I can: --declutter to make more room for things I love --wind down earlier to get better sleep
I'm still not sleeping well but I'm going to try a couple of ideas heard at my WW meeting. I have some little stickers, you know, kid stuff, stars and little smiley faces. I'm aiming to turn off my iPad at a set time and rewarding myself with a sticker on my desk calendar when I do. I'm also posting an affirmation every day related to balance in my life. Today's is from the meditation I did this morning: my body is not a problem to be solved, it is a gift to be lived well.

Happy Saturday! Carol: I love your Affirmation. Even though we are a positive group I sometimes feel we all focus on what "needs fixing". I mean that IS part of finding solutions but that perfection quest is so joyless. Thank you for sharing. Today I too will look at my body as a gift...not a "problem". Janet: Home-made Chicken soup for anyone other than vegetarians is a most welcome healing gift. Bless your heart. Nice day here in SoCal. Our fires more than 55% contained and no high winds to fan the flames. Hope this is also the case for your fire Nat. Just hanging out with my Sweetie today. Changing our cable service bill to a reasonable number, doing errands, and watering every day. Saw my bunny twice yesterday. Looking for more stale cheerios no doubt. Starting my renewed plan and WI tomorrow. It's been months since I've got on that scale. Wish me luck! I will accept that number and move ahead. Sweet Dreams and Good Night's sleep to all. Jan

Good Saturday evening positive peeps! LOL Sally no Goldfish crackers until Joe Biden wins. I'm really starting to get a sick stomach feeling of the unknown regarding the elections. Looking at what people, some good friends are saying to justify their decision for that other man ugh. 2020 has been so crappy, I don't put anything past having a godawful election. I want to declare no more FB for me in the case the unbelievable happens, but I'm not sure I can stick to that I will take a break from it though. Anyway....knocking on wood no knee issues right now, but I did pack my brace in the suitcase that I have just in case. Hoping the winds stay light down the mountain. They are making progress on the fire, 39% as of this morning, but anything can happen if the wind picks up. Keeping an eye closely on the briefings and appreciate the in depth explanation of what's happening out there. God Bless those firefighters! Good progress on your fire also Jan. Sally, I don't know all the duties of the psych social clerk, but it is the back office help to the therapists, scheduling and other various stuff. I'll be shadowing a trainer for 2 weeks probably. The clinic is just for behavioral health and not attached to any medical clinic/hospital. So won't be around sick patients, less covid chances hopefully. They had sent the 3 clerks home during this covid time, but are coming back 9/21. The therapist's appointments are all via video or phone right now also. I accepted the job on Friday, talked at good length to the manager a few times. She said I think the therapists are going to love you LOL. Said she can tell just by two days of talks with me. Fingers crossed! I start 10/5. Yay on the good WI Carol! Cooler temps here too, 32 in the morning last two days. I've put the heater on a few times next to my desk to warm things up lol. Yes I CAN Continue with my IF, doing well there. Don't forget to track. Get my steps in. Smile, breathe, let go of what you cannot control Nat

Happy Sunday!
Got on the scale this morning. Not as bad as I feared but still I have gained 17 lbs since last year. Most of it from March till now. Connected with my Diet buddy this morning and gave her my numbers. She's starting today too so I hope we can do this together. I am very much a team player. Being physically isolated has been tough for me especially since I am not a big phone talker. I like to look into someone's eyes when we speak. Checked out my Bollywood DVD and it looks promising. Lots of steps and hand positions to learn but I will focus more on just moving and following the dance.
Yes, I CAN... --stay OP. I've done well for breakfast and lunch. Evening will be harder and nights are getting longer. I will work my jigsaw to keep my hands (and mind) busy. --cook a healthy meal this afternoon and make my salad ahead so I don't run out of energy or resolve. --take it one meal, one day at a time. Be a better friend to myself.
Nat: I am sure your new place of employment will be lucky to get you. Enlightened people don't come around every day. Let's just all say our prayers about November and not let fear move us? Glad they are getting a handle on the fires in your area. Ours are 75% contained as of this morning. So sad that so many homes and lives have been lost in all these fires. We need a rainy winter in the West, as long as it doesn't come all at once. I wish you snow on your beautiful mountain!
