Got up for dog's shot and just stayed up with coffee. Made Appointments for us for flu shots this morning at Walgreens...did not know you could do that. Hope it gets us out faster.
They now close pharm Part for lunch for an hour..inconvenient! Small Post offices in stores too. supposedly because of COVID? Convenient for them.
not much else planned except finally time to put away three market umbrellas I used for shade this summer..,30 mph winds tonight with drop in temp to 69! Yesterday 110, today 98, and it just goes weird.

US National Weather Service Phoenix Arizona 3h · Obviously, you've noticed all the hazy skies this morning. On this satellite image, all that thin, milky brown cloud is smoke from the numerous fires in California being transported south and east. The thin line of clouds in northern AZ is a cold front which will sweep through the area this afternoon. Unfortunately, strong winds behind this front are picking up dust and mixing it with the smoke so conditions won't be getting any better later today. It may take a couple days for the weather pattern to shift enough to deflect the smoke away from our area.

Karen, thanks for the start. What are they saying about that system that might head to the Carolinas? Our weather guessers just mention it in passing since there are so many systems to talk about right now. It keeps looking like rain, but so far it's been dry again. I hear some thunder rumbling out there, so it may be coming.
Linda, the crazy weather just doesn't stop. Hope you don't get too much of the smoke.
Waving to everyone. Enjoy your evening.

Happy Star Trek Day. Love long and prosper.
Karen, thanks for the start. How was the gym? I saw before and after pictures of Denver's crazy 60° temp drop with snow. Glad that wasn’t here. We are back to 90° today.
Linda, I hope the smoke doesn’t come your way. I read that the fire near Fresno was started by a gender reveal party.
Becky, I hope you and Kenneth are doing well.
Kathy, I like the pic in your avatar.
Liz, Denise I hope work went well today.
Today was a sucky day dealing with insurance issues, stomach pain from the eye medications and a long line at the post office with some dude who would not give me 6 feet until I gave him my patented evil eye.
I hope your day went better than mine😒

Thanks for the start Karen.
Linda I didn't know you could make appointments at pharmacies for flu shots either. That's cool you could do that.We don't have a Walgreens in Elgin.Wow what a drop in temp for you.
Chele I never got into Star Trek. Thanks for asking.Kenneth is fine.I finally have an appointment for a PT assessment on Friday.I'm sorry for your frustrating day.
We received requests for mail in ballots from a state representative in the mail we didn't ask for.I thought you had to request them in writing.Regardless I'm not taking one from anyone's campaign and he is Republican which surprised me even more for him sending them since they don't want us voting by mail in Texas.Weird.
Waving to all.

Chele, sorry you had such a rotten day and hope tomorrow is better. Thanks on the pic. I took it over at DM's house when the moon was coming up last Monday.
Becky, I'm surprised that a campaign would send the requests for mail in ballots too.

Linda, did you paint the pictures? What does Micki's squeaky hedgehog look like? Arya has a green one. Wonder if it's the same. I'm surprised TJ's was so crowded on a holiday. How were your hot dogs and Grandma Brown's beans? I can see how you would be anxious to get into the fall spirit with the summer you've had. Will there be a point at which Micki won't have to have shots any more? Sorry about the smoke you're getting. I hope it's staying high in the atmosphere so it's not causing breathing difficulties for anyone there. Interesting on flu shot appointments but that's probably a good idea. I hope they will be on time and you can get in and out quickly.
Do you get BBQ chicken when you go to Meyer's, Becky? If you got a large order, you could bring the extra home and freeze it for days like yesterday when you want some. So, the cold front that brought the temps down into the 30s in Denver is just going to bring you into the 80s? I saw that Denver hit 101 on Sunday, so I guess you're lucky you aren't ending up in the deep freeze. Wouldn't that be weird?!? I can understand how Kenneth still has work dreams after all these years if he's still in touch with so many people on a regular basis that he used to work with. By "state representative" do you mean someone who represents you in Austin? I thought those would have to come from the Election Commission in your county. I was going to ask if it was a Democrat or Republican and it's very strange that he's the latter. Trump better not find out. Are you going to request one from your local government agency that is not politically affiliated? We sent our applications in a month ago and don't know when we should receive our ballots because I can't find out when the ballots will be mailed out here.
Kathy, I think the Carolinas are already getting some clouds from the tropical system and I think it only has about a 30% chance of development, so there's not much going on with it yet and may not be. I'm more concerned with Paulette, which is already a tropical storm. It appears to be heading for the Carolinas or VA next week. There is also TS Rene but it doesn't appear that will cause problems except for shipping lanes. They are coming across the Atlantic fast and furious now, however. I wonder if we'll be into Greek letters this year. I know you'll be on your guard. Did the thunder materialize into anything there? We are sunny and a little warmer than we were yesterday, in the upper 80s, which I know is comfortable for you. We didn't see much of that moon because of cloud cover, so I'm glad you took the photo.
It's Star Trek Day, Chele? I had no idea.🖖 Sorry about your day. Hope tomorrow will be as good as today was bad. Did the guy at the PO take the hint or was he clueless like a lot of them around here? When is Iggy's pacemaker going in? The gym was good. I don't think I was any closer than about 15 feet to anyone and there weren't a lot of people there anyway.
Not much going on here. I did the usual Monday cleaning before I went to the gym then stopped at Joann on the way home, which is about 5 doors down from the gym. My last swim will probably be tomorrow because the lake is down about a foot and a half since I swam yesterday. Time to pull out the biking shorts and pump up the tires on the downstairs bike. I have to take down the fair display tomorrow afternoon and pick up the CSA order on the way home. I think we got everything square on where we will store all the new stuff. There is zero storage space. If I have time, I plan to go through a drawer in the vertical file cabinet to see if we can get it cleaned out to make a little room.
Waving to our working gals.

hope things get better, Chele.
Yes, I did those paintings from vacation photos, all Vermont except one which was gardens behind the Residence in Munich one October. The one with White House and barn is Frost's house in S Vt. Now a museum. I tend to need personal inspiration to paint. No inspiration all summer.
Micki May just stay on his lower dose...it is a wait, test and see thing. Who knows? Odds are lifelong. The hedgehog is a squishy, fuzzy rectangle with a “face” at one end. He likes the flatness instead of an animal
#$$@ replacing the old one because ours are professionally hard wired...you know wires from cable and wires from lamp twisted together in a plastic waterproof sort of cone. Well, you have to cut the cheapo way of attaching to cable off , separate the two halves of the wire and strip the ends so you can twist it together. It did not want to give up the plastic coating. Finally got it just as I realized ants live near by! They are getting any bait tomorrow under a flower pot to keep off Micki.
the solar path lights out front that came yesterday were easier..able to pull out the old and get new ones into same stake hole. no idea why this started underlining!
