Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.

No intentional walk yesterday, but we ran errands at Home Depot and Walmart. Helped DD update her resume and apply for a job at the nearest hospital. There are Patient Access rep openings at two other nearby hospitals, she's going to apply there too. We have an appointment at 1:00 today to get our pool passes, which involves getting pictures taken.
As I laid in bed trying to get to sleep last night, I decided I was going to go to an Urgent Med this morning to see if I can get some help with this pain. I did speak to someone from AARP yesterday that is supposed to email me a list a PCP physicians in our area. Haven't got it yet though.
Jan- Enjoy your trip to the cabin. I'm pretty sure we never learned about the Schuyler sisters in American history.
GG- Glad you are doing well with your lists.
Cindy- WTG posting your accountabilities.

Good morning all. I can't even watch all the fires out west. The Oregon ones are by my friends, and they evacuated the area where I worked at summer camp near Silver Falls. That on top of California! I will be grateful for our chilly, damp morning here today!! We changed the plans and I will head to the cabin tomorrow, DH will follow Friday. Too cold to go today and we forgot our garbage pick up is one day off because of the holiday and we need to get it out this week. I"m sure I can find things to keep me busy here another day. Got a "walk" in around Walmart, but not really enough. Even AF and no ice cream is not helping the scale move! Must be making up the calories on not so accurate tracking so today I will work on that. Plus I know I'm eating more carbs and craving sweets. For breakfast today I had scrambled eggs, mix of black and refried beans, broccoli and a small piece of toast. I feel stuffed but hope the heavy on protein will help. Don't even know why I added the toast, I was full and then DH was having sourdough toast and it looked so good! Need to plan a good dinner now to make all this work. HOpe you all have a great day. Jan
Amy HOpe you get some relief. Is the pool outside? I'm sure we learned about very few influential women in history as they didn't get to write the books!! GL to DD on the job hunt.
GG Glad the lists are working out for you. Now we just need to keep them up. Good to go up so DS can get his rest.
Cindy Glad your Celtics won. Boo Hoo for Milwaukee. I'm hoping to still get a few nice days up north, they say maybe low 70's early next week. Then we'll have to go up the 1st week of October or so to close up. Then we usually just do it in a day and come home. My plan this summer was to get a fireplace insert put in as the old fireplace just isn't functional. I think the flue has rusted or or ?? Had a guy come look to repair and he just said and insert and pipe would be safer and easier. Then things changed and we had to spend the $$$ on a new roof instead, so maybe next year. GL to DS
Hi to all.

I was down .4 today. I did go up for virtual schooling today. It was good to see how DS does things. The more I do it, the easier it will be. Jack acts goofy because he’s unsure of himself. He doesn’t do well at reading and there is a lot of reading! He’s hanging in though.
Amy: Did you go to Urgent Care?
Cindy: Waiting is so hard!
Jan: Have a nice trip!

Hi friends! I went to kickboxing this morning, my legs were so tired. Got a lot of little stuff done today. I got my real ID drivers license today, they send the actual license later. They were pretty organized, only took a little over an hour. Went to the bookstore! Love that place. We closed the pool today. Jeff put in a new kitchen faucet, it looks nice. I was going to pack today but took a nap instead! Have a great night!

Hi All,
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
Fresh Start Monday! What is your accountability for the week? Being accountable??
Move More Accountability
Increasing my daily steps to get back to 10K a day! Didn't make much progress today, baby steps
Sleep Accountability Was not a good night sleeping, oh well.
Nutrition Accountability AF. Another day of not eating much but I did make street tacos with vegetables and lean protein for dinner.
Happiness Accountability
Need to change my thought pattern. Crossing bridges before I get to them but need to do some stuff to build the "bridges" which includes updating my will. The pandemic has brought it home that Sixties is not the new Fifties but the Elderly. At least that is what the news tells me.
Happy note is DS reconnected with a what was a really good friend...bad karma gone. Apologies, misunderstandings, etc put to rest.
Habit Accountability Working on that. Probably TMI for some habits I need to add, lol.
Check In Daily Accountability HERE! This is helping!
Amy, success vibes to DD on her job search. Did you go to Urgent Care? I hope you are feeling better and got something to help ease the pains. Do you have an extra bedroom set up or plan to? How are your kitties doing?
Jan, the fires are horrifying. I remember landing at the Portland Airport, thinking 1994 and driving home to the Tri Cities in WA, going through the fire areas. It was sad then and this is so much worse. The orange haze over SF is scary. I hope your friends are doing okay. (sourdough bread is hard to resist especially as French toast) I was surprise about Milwaukee Bucks. Sad we are going to game seven. I'm only watching my team because IMHO Adam Silver wants a Lakers vs Heat match. The roof sounds a bit more important. How is DS and GF doing? and how are kitties?
GG, glad you were able to help out DS and the kids. Maybe Jack could read "around the world"...so many miles per page read and then a treat from the country he has arrived (read) to....just a thought. I've been hearing from neighbors that their kids are having trouble being on the computer for school work and not for video games. I have so many children books that I find hard to part with at this point.
Carole, do you have a trip coming up? Packing? I probably missed it. Yay for keeping at the kickboxing. Are there any competitions?
Cathy! Water? Internet? Electricity? I know you will check in if you can but know we miss your posts!
MURPHY!!! You know we care about you and will give you support, love, what ever you need!! Please check in my friend!
We had rain this evening. It was nice and the temp did go down a bit. We are suppose to have more rain. Think one of my rose bushes isn't making it. I have tried several plants to grow in the area and I think it is just a dead area. Have put lots of healthy soil in the area but nothing seems to take except for sweet potato vines....which I guess I will go back to next year. I put two terra cotta planters in the area. Thinking if there is any money in the budget next year I need to do some replacement planting. The heat this year has just dried out so much and we are on water restrictions.
I have lots of great ideas just not much oomph to accomplish!
Hopefully sleep will come with the help of RX sleep pill. Silly but I did't want to move out of the bed last night because Ainsley would think it was time to get up and play and of course eat! Yup, my sleep is centered around my cat. Elderly or crazy cat lady?
Hugs to all!
