Thanks for the start, Karen. Iggy’s procedure is tomorrow. I am laying low today. I woke up with a headache and congestion, so I am just trying to get myself better by tomorrow. Probably worried myself sick. 😝 Take care of yourselves.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Friend had valve replaced by catheter..then needed pacemaker. Went well. It is so different today thankfully.
awakened for the shot with the news of ants all over half the kitchen floor...never did figure out from where. If they come back, I will have to get creative with ant bait and dog. Weather change season change set off AZ ants for some reason and i got them upset when I replaced a landscape light...got to get bait out there. Yuck. After wiping them out with Windex and mopping the floor, for some reason I could not go back to sleep.

Hello Chicks from the further opened NYC! Chele - I hope the congestion and headache subside. Please try not to worry yourself too much. I will be sending prayers and all good karma for Iggy's procedure tomorrow. It will go just fine! Wonderful NYC subway issues last night so I got home late (8:pmish) and then Metro North decided to skip my express train this morning with no notice and I ended up on the local . Subways getting crowded and leaves me rather uncomfortable, I must say. Linda - your paintings were really lovely! That's quite a gift you have. The baby Yoda copy had me chuckling and shaking my head yes! NJ had an earthquake early this morning 3.2 I believe and it was felt all the way into Staten Island. Yikes on the ants! Kathy - were you able to find the gloves that Karen spoke about? We are just now getting plenty of hand soap in the grocery store. I've been stocking up on the "Live Clean" brand which has been on sale or a great price and really does well keeping my hands soft. I am loathe to use sanitizer unless I have to even though I carry it in my bag and in the car. How are you feeling? How's DM and family doing? Becky - were you able to get the tele-health appointment today? How's the leg doing? Is the calf feeling any better? Can I presume there is no chance of a clot? I hope you're able to get it resolved soon and get out of that pain. PS: Very belated Happy Birthday!! Karen - congrats on taking the ribbons at the fair! I hope they get the mint plant ribbon straightened out for you. No masks? Buffoons! Sorry you missed out on the maple and the pizza over the weekend. Might need to chain that wallet to Dale . Zoe is a mess with constant drinking of water and now at least 4 accidents in the house since Sunday. Gary took a urine sample to the vet and I am waiting to hear what's going on. Her cysts are actually not too bad right now which is a blessing. Wally is very cute with her and seems protective when they aren't fighting over treats . I tried to get some rest over the weekend but ended up walking dogs, going to the grocery, and cooking. I am still eating soft food but managed to make pasta pesto with over cooked pasta that I could eat and then a turkey meatloaf that I made extra moist and can mash up in small pieces. I love your avatar! I finally made the appointment with the physiatrist for the 23rd to go over my CT scan and see what we can do with my neck. Gary's family and mine seem to be doing well so far. My DS started her school bus driving this week and actually took on an additional run of special needs children as well. My nephew is home working on his studies. He has to repeat his one class as the cut off was 79 and he came in at a 71. Waving hello to Denise/Moonriver. Sending virtual hugs to all and warmest wishes to stay safe and well! Ciao for now dear ladies~

Karen, thanks for the start. We're finally getting some of that rain they've been talking about this week. That'll save me from having to turn on the sprinklers for now. Chele, hope the congestion and headache have cleared up. I'll be thinking of you and Iggy tomorrow and sending prayers and good thoughts. Take care of yourself too. Linda, your fall paintings are wonderful. Those ants are such a pain. The bugs don't go dormant here either, so it's a constant battle. Liz, love your avatar! That's a bit scary on the crowded subways, but I guess NY is doing pretty well right now. I haven't looked for or ordered the gloves yet. I decided to change what I was doing and I think it helped. I'm bringing all the cold stuff in right away instead of trying to rebag everything. I put the cold stuff away and then bring all the other stuff in. So, I'm not out there in the super hot garage as long and my hands didn't sweat nearly as much. Thanks for the tip on the "Live Clean" products. I don't use much sanitizer since I'm not out that much, but I do think the B&BW brand is gentler than Purell. We're all doing fine, although it seems like endless Groundhog Day here. Hope the commute isn't as bad today. Good to hear from you and stay safe in the big city!
Waving to Becky and Denise.

Yikes on the subway and train issues..and bizarre that an earthquake got added to that chaos.
hope doggie is not diabetic...the accidents are what clued us and got Micki tested.
lovely day here...89.
today continues to be nuts. Never got back to sleep, then had to dress and pick Bob from car repair..car shudders, seems to stall at lights then goes with gas..lots of roadwork so I am a bit late and no Bob and no car. Waited and waited and our car pulls up next to me with Toyota guy driving . Bob tells me out window the gas saver actually turns off the engine at lights unless you push a button before you go every time!
So I wait for our car to come out And we head to World market...but Bob's car goes the wrong way...followed and I just missed turn light behind...he is headed back toToyota. I get there...no car. No Bob? no answer on cell phone. (He forgets to turn it on, but this time no battery...did not charge it). So I go to that store and park next to our car..he comes out of store.where were you? He had taken a wrong turn and gone all the way around a mile block to turn back instead of just turning into the corner mall to reverse direction. No, he still lives.
ants noT there ....put ant bait out by the infestation by the light outside. Better there than inside.

Linda, you paint beautifully. And I totally understand about a no-inspiration summer. I think we're all feeling that way, no matter what our passion. Hate that Micki may be insulin dependent for the rest of his life. That stinks for both of you. I'll have to see if I can find a fuzzy hedgehog for Arya. She doesn't care much for the plastic one. That's weird about the underlining. It seemed to go away today. Did you get the cables all replaced? Be careful with those ants! You may be right about the flammable snow. Or it will go from 120 down to 20 overnight. Let's hope we get all the weird stuff out of the way this year and get a decade of unweird years as a reward. I guess you heard about the coming Bob Woodward book. Trump knew and intentionally deceived us on the virus. As Biden said, "despicable!" I have to wonder if he even knows who Bob Woodward is. Yes, heart surgery has changed so much. I remember DM having a valve replacement via open heart and she went through a couple days of psychosis from being on the cardiac bypass machine. TG her younger sister, the nurse, was able to help her through that, which helped all of us.
Hope you're getting over your headache and congestion and will be at least 80% by tomorrow, Chele. Get lots of rest. Best of luck to both of you tomorrow. I know it will go well. Maybe you can relax after that.
Kathy, it took that rain long enough to get to you. Nice to be able to save water. When's the weekly grocery trip this week? I didn't see much of note in the Publix ad but need a few things and I know I can get most of them there but will have to stop at Food City for shiitake mushrooms because the mushrooms I ordered from the CSA last week weren't available. Got a note with a refund saying the mushroom guy was "struggling". Not sure what that means.
Hey, Liz! Great to hear from you and love the new avatar. What's going on with your commute? You would think they would let you know if they were skipping the express. I wondered how long it was going to be before the subway got nuts again. I heard restaurants in the city are now at 25% capacity. That's encouraging. Our cases are still going up but not as fast as they had been. But then I expect the numbers to rise in the next 1.5 to 2 weeks because the fair just ended on Monday. I hadn't heard about the Jersey quake. Did DS feel it? Where do you find Live Clean? I don't think I've seen it. My hands are still broken out from the sanitizer I used a week ago. I do have the ingredients now to make a better alcohol-free one that actually has castille soap in it but doesn't need to be rinsed off (or so they say). The mint plant did take 2nd. They initally changed the awards in the wrong category. But I still got a 1st and 2-2nds for entering 3 plants, which should pay $40. I'll probably buy more 🌿🌵🌱 (like I need them😎). I didn't see any masks when I took down the display and picked up my plants today--except mine! Did you hear back from the vet on Zoe's urinanalysis? Didn't they test her for Cushings a while back? Let us know what you hear. Congrats on the meatloaf. Good luck to your DS on her 🚍 route. Sometimes the special needs kids can be difficult. Sorry about your nephew's class. I know they are glad to have him back, even for a while. Will he be home til the next semester? How has covid been where he is?
Becky, have you heard about PT yet? When are you expecting your "cold front"?
I guess you're back at work now, Denise. Did you do anything exciting on your off time? Are you expecting colder weather from the front that dropped on Denver earlier in the week?
I had my last swim of the year this morning. Over 1100 yards, which is my longest this year. By next week the lake level will be way too low. It was a bit difficult walking in the shallow water this morning so I don't want to take a chance on falling. The fair display is down and put away and my plants are back home. I need to transplant the oregano and sage into separate pots and might leave the basil and parsley where they are since they are annuals anyway. I've already started planning what I'll do next year because planning this far ahead seemed to work well this year. Osteo and gym tomorrow and stopping to pick up my check for fair prizes. That should shoot most of the day.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I hope Iggy's procedure goes well tomorrow.I'm sure you have worried yourself sick.
Linda Yuck on the ants.We get them from time to time but mostly fire ants and those things hurt.
Liz Good to hear from you.Rats on the subway issues. The telehealth visit was last week.I go for another PT assessment Friday and will go for 2 weeks of PT twice a week.If it still hurts then I am supposed to go back to surgeon. The calf doesn't really hurt. It's from the knee and hamstring.I was tested for a blood clot when I was still seeing the surgeon and it doesn't bother me there. Thanks for the belated birthday wishes. We have an anniversary coming up on 9/22 the day after first day of fall if we get fall this year.I hope Zoe does better soon.
Kathy We had a couple of quick downpours today but not enough to amount to anything.
Karen Kenneth said the wind has switched to the north but it's still 75 out there. We may get in the 60's but they still aren't sure.PT starts Friday probably just for an assessment. In Texas you have to have an excuse to vote absentee. You either have to be disabled or out of the county at the time of the election which is why I don't know why the state representative would send us an application. It was probably a scam.We always go for early voting and Bastrop County will be using the machines for the first time at early voting but not for the election.

.It was so strange...every time I stepped outside, instead of like opening the oven,it was pleasant! We had mid Oct. weather today. Back up to normal dry 103-4 end of week, but that's ok. Micki got a nice walk this afternoon.
weird morning (rollers) first time in years I sat in the car cursed and screamed by myself to let off steam ....primal scream does not work by the way.
after that a bit of shopping at World Market...Cookies, wine, Foreign stuff and home to my book for quiet afternoon after ant baiting a spot in the yard, and now. pizza delivery
