Good morning all. Another great sleeping night and I just loved waking up to the temperature being 46!
We sat in the screen room last night and it was heavenly. Nice cool breeze as we sipped and enjoyed.
Nothing on the agenda for today. I'm hoping that someone calls and we can 'social distance' I saw my neighbor yesterday and she was still on the fence about it. Hopefully it's a go.
Pam also LOLing over 'Betty the Bear Lady' I immediately thought of Betty Rubble in the Flintstones So very happy to hear that the wound is smaller and will heal. Nice that the waitress brought your food out quickly so that y'all could enjoy it before heading back. LOL to the scale and 'stage fright'. When I was going to weight watchers weekly same deal with me. I'd be down all week long except for when I got it in 'writing' Congrats on the 1.1 loss. Judy I also can't believe it's been 19 years. Another thing that Carl reminded me of is that it was 19 years in August on the 5th that I quit smoking!!!! My dear friend had a stroke and we did a lot together...she HAD to quit and I quit right along with her. Hardest thing I ever had to give up. I'm very fortunate that I did. Your dinner sounds good...especially the lemon cookie
Sue I bet you are 'tired' today.......enjoy those meals out!
Will CBL

Hi Ann and friends,
Thanks for getting the cafe ball rolling. It’s another beauty of a day. Last night was the first time we slept with the windows open! Hooray!
Today is the socially distanced book club/birthday party. Only two spouses are coming because the others, including mine, opted out. Not their thing and too many people for my DH to feel comfortable. The host has ordered wrap sandwiches and another friend is bringing a bakery cake. I have a cooler with some wine and lemonade seltzers. It will be fun to see friends and to dress in a decent outfit with a bit of makeup! DH is headed to the Cape to work on cleaning out the garage and also to make up a guest room for our cousin who will be there alone.
Pam, your comment about the rogue staff member is right on the mark. Thankfully my boss is well aware of his behavior which is making more than me a little nutty. He is also way above my pay grade but I’m responsible for his communications with our college president. Tricky but I am ok since my boss has my back.
I hope you all have a great day and I will bbl reporting on my outing! J

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Just time for a quick note this morning. DH got home later than usual and we ended up finishing up the patio and then going to Home Depot for the fire pit and wood. While he assembled it, I put supper together and then we ate on the patio around the fire.
Our neighbors came over later on and brought their chairs and sat on the edge of our patio and enjoyed the fire with us. It was a great social-distancing time together. (We CAN do this!)
I am off today to lunch with VBF then back home for a while before heading for birthday party.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue so happy that you were able to enjoy the fruits of your labor and got to social distance and share the fire pit. Enjoy lunch out with your friend and also the bday party. You are donning the 'social butterfly cap' LOL...wear it well Unfortunately our social distancing gathering is postponed. It happens, and I'm okay with it. Such a beautiful day out there that I've already walked 2 miles and will go out again later on. Right now it's too sunny out there. I may melt Perhaps that's why I have a vitamin D deficiency LOL. Judy enjoy social distancing at the bday party. Yes I'm sure it will feel good to get all 'dolled up' as my gramma would say LOL. Some people are more willing to social distance than others. Me? I am not a crowd person, so even if it weren't COVID I decline a lot of invites due to crowds unless it can't be avoided. I'm sure DH will be happier at the Cape doing his own thing. I just had lunch and now I'm going to once again TRY to get involved in a book. Wish me luck

Hey again all,
Ann, I meant to add that it’s a celebratory day for you yesterday quitting smoking nearly 20 years ago! That is a true feat. I quit on Martin Luther King day in 1975! I may have only been 21 when I quit but I had been smoking since I was 18 and I had a very good habit going. I remember an older guy named Amos Who I worked with also quit on the same day. Cigarettes cost $.50 a pack when I quit and I remember my favorite brand was Parliament. The reason I quit was because I kept getting recurrent bronchitis and enough was enough. I do remember that for a whole month I had to avoid coffee and Wine because both were triggers for me to smoke. Funny how you remember all this stuff but I actually remember having dreams and waking up in the night quickly try to stub out a cigarette. I do have sympathy for people who are hooked because it’s definitely an addiction.
Sue, you and your husband waste no time in getting things arranged and set up. Good for you for already having a nice fire pit socially distanced gathering! That sounds like a lot of fun.
My DH is departed for the Cape and we loaded an old dishwasher into the back of his truck that he’ll take to the dump. The builder that we are working with is moving very quickly and it looks like he wants to have a house on site for us by May. So, we really have our work cut out for us to clear out that house at the Cape. I am going to need some help because I have so much trouble parting with family held furnishings and items. Everything I look at there reminds me of my mother and father and grandmother. But, it’s time to let go. I need someone like you, Ann, who has an easier time letting go! I am going to contact my niece who’s engaged to see if she and her future husband would like some of her grandmothers furnishings. They just won’t go in the new house although I plan to keep a couple beautiful marble top tables and antiques. There is a lot of usable stuff, so we can donate other things as well to the Salvation Army.
off to walk D&D before the party. I’m all dolled up! Lol

LOL Judy I bet you're lookin' good all dolled up You never know who you'll run into while out walking D&D What a wonderful idea to ask your DN who is engaged if she wants any of the furnishings. That way, when you visit, you can see them again. Perhaps other friends or relatives would also help out in that department. Good luck with it. Oh how I remember smoking. I loved the entire ritual...taking the cigarette from the case (always had a cigarette case LOL) tapping it on the counter or table...lighting it up with my Scripto or Bic lighter and that first puff....heaven LOL....Yup, I surely did enjoy it back in the day, and I was a very heavy smoker. At times I was up to 4 packs per day other days it was 2 but never just one. Weekends were killers as whenever I went to a nightclub there they were That was the hardest thing for me to give up. Lots of people I knew went from quitting to picking up pot...but I hated and still hate the smell of that stuff not to mention it scared the you know what out of me! I never messed with any of that stuff for which I'm most grateful. I do remember switching from coffee to tea for a short time and that seemed to help. Now it doesn't faze me. I figured if I could go without a butt during 9/11 I was cured! I do remember digging through my pocketbook at times 'looking for one' I kept one carton 'on ice' for a year and then opened each pack and cracked each cigarette and threw it in the trash. A long drawn out process that helped me to 'let go'. You are right...it IS funny the things you remember. Haven't thought of all of that in eons. Happy to say that I took two good hood walks. One with Carl and LuLa and one just Carl and I. LuLa wanted no part of the great outdoors. We will take her again for a walk later. She went out into our back yard a few times and hurried back indoors again. Perhaps she senses the bear that people are seeing in our retirement community..... Anyway, I am going to do a few odds and ends. Will try to CBL...if not, see y'all tomorrow.
