Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!

Need to get BOT! The day started off well, went for a walk with DH & DS, made scrambled eggs for breakfast. DS went home around 11 and we headed out to see the golf cart. It's in great shape and runs well (we took it for a spin). We offered to buy it, but they wanted cash instead of a check, so we have to get that together tomorrow when the bank is open. The wife volunteered the husband to deliver it, which is nice b/c we would have had to rent a trailer. Somewhere between going for our walk and leaving to look at the golf cart, DH lost his keys. We looked everywhere we could think of, I even dug through the trash. They have to be in the house or in his car somewhere. Just glad it's not me this time.
GG- You are doing so great with the challenge! Have fun with Rylee. I saw the goat and the bird too.
Carole- Have fun in FL!
Cathy- WTG AF/OP. Yay for having water, phone, etc.

Meditation for the Day When you call on God in prayer to help you overcome weakness, sorrow, pain, discord, and conflict, God never fails in some way to answer the appeal. When you are in need of strength for yourself or for the help of some other person, call on God in prayer. The power you need will come simply, naturally, and forcefully. Pray to God not only when you need help, but also just to commune with Him. The spirit of prayer can alter an atmosphere from one of discord to one of reconciliation. It will raise the quality of thought and word and bring order out of chaos.
Prayer for the Day I pray that I may bring peace where there is discord. I pray that I may bring conciliation where there is conflict.

Good morning all! I actually slept in a bit this morning. Our pastor decided to hold off on having our Sunday school classes because there is no way to really social distance in the small rooms so I don't have to be at church until 8:30. I heard that Larry is having mild symptoms of Covid but so far his wife doesn't have any symptoms. No word on any new cases to my knowledge. My weight was back up a little from Friday but I know I was still dehydrated then so I'm actually very pleased.
Amy - yay for the golf cart!! You'll be zipping around all over the place! We have to have a picture! Oh - I saw the goat and bird too. Loved the TOTD!
Carole - soak up some sand and waves for all of us!
Cindy - enjoyed texting with you last night. Did you order any candles?
Cathy - so happy that your water and all is back in working order. I'm sure sorry to hear about your daughters campus increase of Covid.
GG - I adore hearing about your grandchildren! Have fun with Rylee today (as if you could have a bad day with her! LOL)
I've got everything laid out to start cooking after church. I'll add as many beans as my pots will hold! LOL. I'm sure we will have just as much as we need. Seems like we always do. I'll check back after church today. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Murphy

Well the chili has been simmering and the house smells amazing! Makes me feel more like it's fall! I think I wound up using a total of 4 cans of tomatoes, 2 lbs of hamburger and I think 10 cans of assorted beans! It does smell yummy. You know how I love soup weather! We had an amazing service this morning. The first service doesn't have as many people so it's much easier to social distance and that makes me feel better. There were a lot more people in the service this morning that had on masks too. I have everything packed in the car including as many boxes as I could find. I think they are planning to just take the pots of chili to the Motels and serve from there instead of dishing it out at the church. I thought if we had boxes to sit the pots in, there might be less chance of spilling. Reminds me I need to find some tape to label my pans. I have twisted my back a little bit and it's uncomfortable but I'll take some Tylenol and I'm sure it will be ok. I don't have to leave the house for another couple of hours and I'm just going to park on the sofa with Callie in my lap until then! Hope you all have a great rest of your day! Murphy

ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
Fresh Start Monday! What is your accountability for the week? I need to make a better effort
Move More Accountability I need to make a better effort in getting back to steps
Sleep Accountability Comes and goes
Nutrition Accountability AF. Need to figure a plan and probably go grocery shopping to get some fresh ingredients
Happiness Accountability Okay
Habit Accountability Working on that.
Check In Daily Accountability HERE! This is helping even if I'm not being very accountable!
Okay day. I have my infusion tomorrow. Didn't accomplish much today other than putting some stuff away. I guess making the decision to get rid of some bakeware and shoe trees is a positive. I think I am somewhat frustrated at myself as I realize how little I've done with the cast on. I can understand it but certainly I could have kept up with the dust bunnies. Oh well, not motivated to do much this evening.
Murphy, how did the Motel Ministry work out? Did you have enough chili? Thinking I should make some soup this week so the house will smell good. I enjoyed texting too, and yes, I did buy candles...sweet cinnamon pumpkin, sparkling pear riesling, warm balsam, and perfect peony. I think I am ready to put out fall decorations...it will force me to dust as I take down stuff and put out new stuff. I hope your back is feeling better and the Tylenol did the trick.
Amy, I hope DH found his keys! Enjoy the golf cart! Did you say you could take it to Publix? I love hearing about your family time. How are your aches and pains doing? Do you think you might need to get further treatment?
GG, how are you doing?
Carole, I would have gone swimming in the wind.
Jan, how are you doing?
Cathy, you mentioned your BIL having a new diagnosis. Is this the BIL that was in the hospital in SF? I'm so sorry. Hope you are able to talk with son and family today. Did you say your daughter was doing online classes? Congrats on the twenty pound loss!
I think DS is about to call it quits with GF. He feels badly for the children but there is little he can do if she can't figure out what she is doing on a daily basis. She still has some of his stuff. Nothing of great importance but it would be nice to get it back. Time will tell.
Thinking I need to rest my hands....the cast seems to make the hand ache....hopefully it will come off this week!!!
Hugs to all, Cindy

SUNDAY: AF/OP/within points for the day/scale 182 this morning
Talked to our granddaughters yesterday but our son was mowing the lawn so did not speak with him. They are under hurricane watch as they live near Mobile. I worry about everyone as they go about their lives and could contact covid-19 but then they worry about us here in Lebanon, too. Strange world we live in and one that we really don't have a lot of control over at times. I am currently focusing on controlling what I eat and that is a good thing.
AMY: How far away does your son live? I hope you found your husband's keys. How fun to be looking forward to having a golf cart! When and where will you use it and how will you store it? Is there room in the garage for it?
MURPHY: It sounds like a lovely Sunday!
CINDY: Yes, same brother-in-law that had two major back surgeries in San Francisco. He can't seem to get a break. Waiting to hear what the people he talks to in the next few weeks will have to offer. I am available to my sister whenever she needs me and may see if there is a way she can get on Skype, Viber, WhatsApp or some other app so we can talk instead of just email. My daughter is teaching online this semester rather than in the classroom. I hope your son gets his stuff back from the woman with the children.
