Funny you should ask, June. Yes we do have one where we pick up our mail and I did post and someone removed it! Not sure who would be 'offended by FREE books' but not going there!
LOL June...Carl goes through those 'soup phases' also.
Happy to say my day is all planned and tracked. I lollygagged over a second cup of coffee. Now it's time to shower and begin the day.

Praying all goes well, Bee. Keep us posted.
I called the NH and the gal that I spoke with was not able to make that decision. She took down my name and phone # and will have one of the administrators get back to me. So I'll just wait. She was very pleasant and professional, so I'm sure I'll get an answer.

Bee - I hope Sally fizzles out. Prayers back at you. Happy shopping Becky. Ann - The church thrift shop started taking donations about a month ago for clothing. The nursing homes are taking books for their little libraries. What a great idea Audrey. Yes, the fires are heartbreaking. Too back we can't send these tropical systems your way. Glad your family is doing well Cathy. Food choices sound good. June - I'm sure you will figure it out. Good job staying in your lane. More later

Susi our thrift shops here also are accepting donations. I've already dropped off a few boxes I believe last month. Time goes by so quickly that I forget LOL. I'm hoping that the NH will accept them.

I am going to see the oncologist so I can have an idea what to expect on this journey. Also to have someone to talk to ever so often that has a clue what I am going through.
I hate surprises, and do not unwrap a gift.

Hope the oncology appointment goes well Bee I'm in, planned and tracked. Yesterday afternoon, I worked in the garden cleaning out dead veggie plants. I made caramelized onions, roasted poblanos, poached garlic (for spreadable garlic and garlic oil), stuffed 2 chicken thighs, one with poblano and jack cheese, one with brie and asparagus that I will have tonight. It's the chicken version of a favorite salmon recipe from a restaurant featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives

Bee I'm with you. I need to know where I stand and don't like surprises. Susi all your preparations sound delish. We just came back from a walk. Started out nice and breezy and cloudy....just as we came in the sun came out. Win win in my books

Bee, I hope your appointment goes well today. I donβt like surprises either. I wrote my first note card today to the doctor and his artist wife who live in Prather. I saw on a map yesterday that the air quality was at 600 and hope they in their home are safe.He treated me in the ER at Clovis hospital when I had broken my arm and flew home from Miami. We would see each other more when Bob worked at the hospital but our paths really cross because we do live far away. Prather is north east of Fresno in the foothills.Shave it off and send handmade cards for Christmas. After my errands I will write a letter to a friend who lives in New Jersey whose husband had a stroke last year. She was a librarian at the high school where I taught over 50 years ago and the fun thing we did together was I accompanied her when she was on The Dating Game. Do you remember that show? She never met her perfect date but soon afterwards married a lawyer who ended up working for Pfizer and doing quite well.

Audrey yes I DO remember the Dating Game. Such a fun show and a wonderful memory for you. Thanks for sharing. So nice of you to continue to write those letters. I'm sure they will be appreciated. Well, I got a call from the Nursing Home. They wanted to set up a pick up date for sometime during the week. I told her that our housing complex is right next door and she was thrilled that we were willing to drop it off. She told me to just put it in a box and leave it on the door step under the awning. I knew just where she meant...and she also asked that I leave my phone number and name inside. She asked if we wanted a receipt for tax purposes to which I replied not necessary. She was thrilled with that as well. She did ask permission to gift the books and magazines out to someone else should they not find what is in there appropriate. I told her I had no problem with that either. About and hour later, I received a phone call thanking me for the donation and she said that they will keep everything. I am just very happy that they took it all. Now I know where to go in that situation. We also went to our pharmacy and got our flu shot. I called our PCP as our appointment is coming up in October, but they don't have the vaccine yet. Happy that's also behind us. All in all it was a productive day

Saw the doc and love her.
As to tired they drew blood to do a thorough panel on my thyroid.
Will do a Pet Scan to see where else, if anywhere, the cancer might be. Will know more after that test.
Dinner is the rest of the lentil soup.
And since it was a more than calm day --- LOL --- my treat is a sleeve of saltine crackers and some tea. I'm a cheap date.
