MONDAY MINDSET.... I NEED IT! (AGAIN)! I am sooo not ready for this week to begin ~ but will make the best of it anyway! I have soup... other than that - I am not sure what I have here to take for snacks today! I do know I need more than "just soup" for the day! LOL
I am going to pack a No Sugar ~ No flour bag today! I need to reel it back in, and that seems the best place to start!!
I think we are running to Wal-Mart after I get out of work tonight, so most likely dinner will be on the fly! I am hoping for a Roast Beef Grinder tonight... yup, that's flour... but I have been craving a hot RB grinder for a week now! So tonight just be the night! This is why I will be more cautious during the day! LOL! Save my points (IF I were tracking of course) for my grinder!
Yesterday was pretty good... the Open Air Market was very SMALL - certainly NOT the 20 vendors I thought they would have. (the ad said we only allow 20 vendors) Apparently 20 vendors didn't "apply" to join! LOL OH well, it was a long ride for a small market - but time with the girls is time well spent. Lunch was OK, I got a taco bowl salad... and shared onion rings - then dinner was popcorn... so a very low point day - (Again ~ IF I were tracking)!!
I was happy that I came home and got right to work on some laundry and dishes... then made the bed... and folded/hung the load of laundry from the dryer! Then some time in the hot tub and off to bed! LOL Didn't sleep well, but EH, should be used to that by now!!
Back to work today - and ready to get some things CAUGHT UP for sure this week! I think only Deb is off this Friday (only) so 4 days to get caught up, then keep things caught up going forward, for about a month - before Deb is on vacation (again)!
Anyway - let me refill my coffee, and be right back to catch up ♥

Gabrielle: Any sign of relief from the smoke yet??? Oh man I hope the winds changed direction... sorry no rain in sight! UGH! Seriously? You are still work-working 7 days a week?? Grrr is right! Make the decision where to run the night before for heaven's sake!! OY VEY! Did Ed only do the shorter run with you?
Eden does have a "nature Journal" for now... so she can start making notes of all things "nature"... not sure what that means, but it was on (Jaclyn's) wish list for back to school shopping! Mostly books on Eden's (Jaclyn's) list. YES! I think I will make a plan for getting both vehicles detailed every spring - we'll see! Heaven only knows if we will ever get to take our Pre-Paid SC vacation - so maybe vacation $$ will help with a few things we want to do! At this point by the time we CAN go on vacation - we'll have a pretty good vacation FUND to go pretty much anywhere! Yes I took my water with me... and it was cool - breezy - walking around... sun shine but not too hot!
YAY for tracking on the new app! I tried googling it - but looks like it is app only... gotta find the site for the computer! I mean - I'll use both (maybe) but like to get into it on the computer to rally see and learn what it's about!
Jenny: YAY for getting some rain! UGH Yes, too early for Christmas stuff to be out! Sorry the weather is crappy along with the smoke... do you have to work today? Hopefully you don't have to travel far?? Or are you still off on Mondays? WOW Glad they let you come in to work - even when there is no business! LOL Yup, may as well take the books and have something to do!!
Sue: LOL I am not a laundry person myself either - but do find if I do it as it gets dried it IS easier! I have to flip a load this morning - before work... so the load in the dryer will NOT get folded/hung until tonight, but Eh it is what it is, right?? I came home yesterday and opened windows - it was warmer outside than in! Ken hadn't noticed! UGH! Woke up to 60 this morning... much better than 48 last week!
YAY for a low point yummy soup! My split pea is only 1 point per cup! Oh NO! PICKLES ON a BLT??? I'd eat them on the side, but ON it?? EWWWWWW!

Gabrielle: I went ahead and signed up... found the website - will download the app on the phone later. Tonight when I am putting groceries away - I will do as the coach suggests and scan everything that I use consistently! Apparently "they" think I should do the SUGAR SMART Plan... OK By me... something NEW (and yet old) to work through and make work! My Sugar Smart Coach says:
"Most importantly, show yourself grace. Your personal health journey isn’t meant to be a perfect journey. Giving up all of the foods you love will not make this sustainable for you so you have to embrace the occasional indulgence not as a failure, but just as part of the process. The beauty of using an iTrackBites plan is that you can plan for the foods you love. For me, there isn’t any amount of money in the world you could pay me to give up my hazelnut creamer in the morning. I plan for it, I track it, and I move on! You’ll learn what is worth it and what isn’t.
Your mindset going into this means everything. If you go in demanding perfection of yourself, you will most likely come up short. We are not made for that level of expectation! Allow yourself the room to still be you, to still have that glass of wine at night, to still go out with your friends and enjoy that queso with chips. That is the key to sustainability and sustainability equals long term success. After all, what’s life without queso anyway?"
I always say perfection is highly overrated!
However ~ I tend to let myself slip over and over again... I need to make some positive changes for my physical and mental health - NOW is the Time! I have a brand new journal - purchased earlier this year, nothing written in it yet ~ TODAY is a good day to start! I will make time to PLAN for the week - so I can shop tonight and hit the ground running... well... OK We all know I do NOT "run" but you know what I mean!! I am not expecting overnight results, but over "YEAR" would be pretty awesome! I now have about 50# I want/need to lose (again) so I need to start now!
First thing I will scan is my wine - yes, DH brought wine home one night, and just like "THAT" I am back to the daily/nightly "habit"... Need to track it HONESTLY and see WHY I am not losing this weight! We'll see if it truly IS the problem!
OK Now time to flip my laundry and head to the shower... will need a few extra minutes to figure out my lunch bag today!
MONDAY MINDSET.... Gotta give it a real thought today! ♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Got in my TM time which was good. Yesterday did not go as planned...DM called at 9:00 to say that she thought she should go to the ER because of her afib so I drove her and was there until about 4:00 pm or so. They tried a cardioversion (3 times) but it didn't work. While she was waking up, the cardiologist spoke with me and we talked about what might be best for her. Like the other cardiologist, he said that her condition is not life-threatening... a lot of people live with it. He said that, if she is really uncomfortable, the next step might be a pacemaker. The challenge with her is that her heart rate is already pretty low (normally) so, if they give her meds for the afib, it automatically lowers her heart rate more and this isn't good. He said, with a pacemaker, they could medicate the afib better and it would keep her heart rate from dropping too much. Anyway, she as kind of grouchy when I dropped her off at her house, but got better later (I think she was really hungry). SO....now I am going to into work early and going to try to beg out of some meetings so I can try to get things done. I feel like I didn't have much of a weekend....still planning to drive to my sister's the weekend of 9/25 though!
Carole: The open air market sounds so fun! Too bad about the lack of vendors, but a nice day to be outside for sure! I am glad that they have a computer version of I Track Bites....I didn't look for it. After I signed up though they sent me different information (food lists, etc.) via email so that I could print them out. I've gotten used to the app now. I like that, in addition to tracking "bites" (points), you can see the nutritional breakdown of carbs, protein, etc. For whatever reason, I am liking it! I hope that you like it too...sounds like the Sugar option is right up your alley...you have your low sugar/flour days! So, I was actually thinking of a personal journal for Eden...one to record her thoughts and tell about her day. More narrative writing as opposed to expository (recording information)....just a thought for her down the road--she might really like it! She can have a little lock on it to keep her thoughts private, etc. Some kids really like having something like that (I think I still have mine!). I hope that you have a good day today--and enjoy that grinder--sounds tasty!

Sue: Ok, I have to confess.....I LOVE dill pickles. They now make popcorn with dill pickle flavor--oh, it is so good! So I would probably try them on a BLT! Here is CA, it is common to have a BALT (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato). I feel for Hannah---that would be hard to be the single parent for so long....so glad that she is getting her runs in, but still. I hope that you find the I Track Bites app interesting. I think I needed a change! Thanks for asking about the grapes--we should hear this week. In the meantime, they told DH to start picking on Wednesday. I have a feeling that, if they are not what they want, they will turn them away or pay some crazy low price. Uggh. Tough times right now and still so smokey. Today is the day when the winds might change though. Wednesday dinner out will be nice! I haven't eaten dinner anywhere but at home since last March...still not going out yet. Some day.....
Jenny: Wow, you are so fortunate to be getting rain. I would LOVE some rain right now. I hope that you get some fresh air as a result. Yes, it is so odd how the weather changes and everything....
Hello to all who follow. I need to get my early start at the office so need to sign off. Have a good day!

Hi Everyone!
First, Carole, I have to ask what is your "Sugar Smart Coach". Drive way looks really nice. I know you are excited.
Gabrielle, glad you got the tread mill time in. It's probably too smokey outside? Sorry for the issues with your mom's heart. Afib is so tricky like that. Even with a pacemaker Steve still goes into Afib. One of the dangerous things about Afib is the risk of stroke. But they can manage his heart much better with the pacemaker. They actually control it electronically. I hope they get things worked out for her.
I'm feeling very down, blah, what ever you want to call it, today. I've tried talking to a couple of people. I just don't know how to keep going, working, cooking, taking care of my family and my health. I just doesn't make sense anymore. I'm having intermittent bouts of crying. Trying to talk to some people about investing the money I will be inheriting. Maybe that's it. I saw that I'm supposed to get some documents in the mail today concerning my Mum's life insurance and the trust.

Evening all....wanted to track in ITB's before I got on...need to make that a priority if I am going to honestly track and be accountable. Decided to take advantage of the 1/2 off sale for the Pro version so I could link my FitBit and have the recipe builder like the old WW app.....figure was worth it for 1 year and if I become a slacker, I don't need to renew it next year. I think I have it all set the way I used to have my WW tracker, using DP, then WP but NOT using Activity points. Only get 30 DP and yesterday I hit 30 on the nose...today I still have 4 left that I'm sure I will use at some point tonight.....we'll see!!
Work was very busy today....the 1st of two MEAPs dropped about 2:30pm so I had to stop everything I was doing and get on that one...thankfully it was a very small one this time so I have it about 2/3 finished...will have it done by 9:00am or so tomorrow so I can move onto the stack of stuff still left from today....hadn't even gotten to any of it...just finished up the stuff left from Friday!! Stopped at the main plant to get the Cubii....it's heavy so will have Jason get it out of my car when he gets home. Ran into Todd when leaving and I asked him if I was going to be in the Back Issue WH for an extended period of time and he didn't hesitate and said "yes" so I asked if I could have someone bring over my good desk chair since the one I have now is crappy!! He said, "leave that in the Production Office in case you are asked to help again....Troy can bring you another one that he has as a spare".....I will email Troy in the morning and have him put one together for me and bring it over!! I'll be glad to get a good chair again....my back is not happy by day's end with the one I have now!!
Carole....thanks for getting us started today!! Thanks for the reminder to get into that mindset for success. LOL, yes, you need more than just soup today.....while we don't want to over eat we still have to eat enough to fuel out bodies!! One reality check on my tracker today...my 1/2 bagel with light cream cheese for breakfast....I had one bagel left over from the last ones I bought so don't want to waste it but the 1/2 bagel is 5 bites!! YIKES...need to rethink my breakfasts I think....used a ton of "bites" just for my breakfast....heck, I put my soup in the recipe builder and it was only 4 bites.....crazy!! Need to check out some of the recipes in the app to see if I can come up with some better options that don't take up that many right at the start of my day!! I say....enjoy the grinder! I know for me, if I'm hungry for something and don't just eat it, I go WAY off track trying to compensate and end up doing more damage than the craving would have caused!!
GET THAT TRACKER OUT AND TAKE A STAB AT IT!! I've tracked 2 days now.....I had to set my start day to Thursday as that is what I'm used to with my old WW plan....my WI day has always been Thursday so trying to keep it that way....doing my best to NOT use all the weekly allotment. But, since I haven't been tracking and have no idea of how things will be valued in this program the first couple weeks will be an adjustment...but I do see this is more like the Points Plus that I was successful with so feeling hopeful!! Need to get my "mo jo" back!! LOL!!
Sorry the Open Air Market wasn't as big as expected but yes....time with the girls is well spent!! Glad you got home in time to get some laundry done and dishes too!! I'm with you.....my sleep was OK....hoping for better tonight!! Glad everyone will be at work at least through Thursday so you can get caught up....Kaitlin isn't off on Friday? I thought she was off every Friday in September??
I know what you mean about taking a "real" vacation again...who knows when it will be....still holding out that I will be in Nebraska for Christmas....while it is a "safe" state for us someone said that if you fly you have to quarantine??? Will need to check with HR on that one.....they say that the air on planes is better than going to Walmart so not sure on that one!!
Yes Carole...the ITB is only an app for tracking...if you google it you have to enter your number and they send the link to your phone. It is very user friendly...similar to the WW app. I'm on the Sugar Smart plan too.....I agree, perfection is definitely over-rated!! LOL!! I agree....if I fold as soon as stuff comes out of the dryer it's better...first, it cuts down on wrinkles and second, it's done!!
OK....Jason is home and yacking....back when I can!
