This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

I was rather hoping Colleen would beat me to the thread this morning. WI last night was a disappointment for a first weeker, but there was a loss of .6 nonetheless, effectively the removal of one shoe from the steamer trunk. I shall carry on unpacking.
Bad night's sleep last night, and I can't pinpoint why. I was awake, not fretting, just awake, for hours. Not what I need on the eve of my most hectic, nonstop day of the week. I am not fond of Tuesdays right now.
Oh, Shari, I am so sorry that even with rain falling, the snow was still clinging. Just remember, soon the for sale sign will go up in the yard and it will all be someone else's problem. Take pictures of the greying blobs and naked trees to remind yourself when, inevitably, you become nostalgic some time next year.
Good wishes to all.

Quick hello from CO this soggy morning! Yay - moisture!! I'm slowly getting over this cold and even more slowly getting out from under the mounds of year-end paperwork. Both leave me with little energy for much else except perhaps eating the wrong (comfort) foods!
I miss catching up with everyone on a daily basis and hope I can be here on the boards more often in a few weeks. Thinking of you all!!

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!!!
Quiet day here in H-Town. DH has left for his overnight to ATX; he will be back tomorrow. DS has STAAR testing this week - Math today, reading tomorrow. I am sure he will be happy when it is over. I like that he is not focusing on passing; rather, he wants to get commendations like he did last year. That's my boy! I want to find something fun for the two of us to do tonight.
T, I think a shoe is a good start. I'm sure the other will fall soon. Ha ha. Seriously, it's frustrating how much it is in small steps sometimes. Downward is always a good trend, regardless. I hope you can get through your Tuesday without too much sleepy frustration.
Shari, I don't miss March up north. I'm guessing you won't either. :-)
Andrea! I hope your paperwork madness ends soon.
Okay, testing, unfortunately, does not happen by itself. Off to the salt mines! Hugs to all!!!!

Love your pic on fb, Susan! And YES - let's help each other find motivation to stay OP. I ran across the pic of us in Jackson last night - a lot of miles in a short time. Just call us the road-trippers. Come again?
I saw a really nice pic of Linda with the grands today on fb. What a difference a year makes!
T, One shoe is a start! It’s always hard the first week or two to stay the course, but you will be rewarded, just hang in there. You have motivation with your pending trip and hikes.
Glad Colorado is getting some moisture, Andrea. It’s been a wet spring so far here as well. I have only a 2 foot snow bank left in the back yard near the trees, but it should be gone within the next week or so – looks like a nice weekend on tap here. Hopefully for you as well.
Hope Shari's snow is gone soon - then the mud-fest begins. The only thing I don't like about spring with a big dog in the house.
MCat – STAAR is one of my tests.
How fun to start dress shopping, Colleen! It should give you some motivation to stay OP – it will get easier for you once you are settled in CR and develop your routine.
I am hanging in there – stayed OP yesterday after a not-so-good weekend. I am determined to get rid of some poundage before Memorial Day otherwise I will be wearing winter clothes all summer long. I refuse to buy bigger clothes. I got used to wearing a lot of LuLaRoe over the winter. I just love the fabrics, but guess what – they STRETCH – and I didn’t even realize I was putting on so much. There is something to be said about staying on the scale, even at “maintenance” which I failed miserably at. So I did both elliptical and tread mill last night after work. I need to start doing some yoga for flexibility again.
Better get back at it here. PS I just saw a box of donuts in the break room… Give me strength!

I am trying to cut back a bit on computer use aka non job related. Even when I just want to check a thing or two, it becomes much more than that. Karla - Yuck, on the donuts. I don't like how my mouth feels after eating them. Plus, how many people have touched them? Thanks for the kick in butt about stretchy pants. Since I don't have plans, I wear yoga pants, sweats, etc. Starting tomorrow (am already dressed for today) I will put on more structured clothing. T - Glad your kidults still want to hang out with you. Removal of a shoe is a good start. Every little bit of removal adds up. Andrea - Shall we just skip over the next couple weeks? Missy - GL to your DS on testing. I am sure he will do great. What fun activity did you end up doing? My little piles need to be eliminated or at the very least consolidated. Guess what I am going to be doing shortly? Exercise for the day: walking to library and elliptical. Currently Portland has had 7 inches of rain. Only need .9 to be the wettest March on record. Guess I better keep the hip waders on for now. Wishing all a great day. HUGS~ m

I am back from my trip. I got in late last night. Lots of shopping and dining out. I haven't weighed myself, but I was careful all the way around. So if I jump up in weight, I know it's coming off in the next week.
T: Perhaps your body is weighting (pun) until next week to release himself. I would be a super tracker, and try on Sat/Sun/Mon to keep your points at around 30/32 each day.
The advisor was very pleased as meetings go. I should get some money to live on soon and have anything I've charged be reimbursed. Which is huge. He was optimistic that if no games are played we could be done in 90 days. I will not count on that date, until I see how things are moving.
Colleen, it does help for motivation to have a goal. (Wedding dress shopping). Are you on connect? Brides often post their before and after wearing a wedding dress. Did you get a picture this weekend? I know you can do it. You know you can do it. Use this time to buckle down before your social life ramps up.
Nothing new here. I'm headed to the home goods store to see if they have any good furniture I should be buying.

Hi CaTs. Sitting in car, 50° and comfy - no sun. Mick "resting" on back seat after big grooming morning. I was very productive. Dropped off big donation load to vets, got March monthly WI done (nothing like needing to wait til last bit of March!), and led WeWa mtg (finally told them of move), got Mick, got my hair cut. Relaxing w poodle now before evening of lessons. No time to take M. home so DH and DS will pick him up from me on their way home.
T, we say here, a loss is a loss, any minus is still a minus. Keep working it. Good luck w crazy Tues. MCat, what is the testing you refer to - taking or giving? Karla, nice to see you. My DM and DSis are wild for LulaRoe. Not me so much - I'm a jeans girl. Skirt or dress in summer (or shorts/capris) but denim any other day of year. Saves me being misled by stretch! My DD just started whole 30 this week, making me think of you, Karla, and Frieda. She's wondering what it will do for her fibro. I'm happy to see her signif reducing sugar. Andrea, good to see you too. What is your go-to comfort food? How's that little Jessie?

Shari, let me see if I can come up with any W30 hints. I made spaghetti sauce with meat and had that bagged and frozen in individual servings. Great on spaghetti squash. I loved the compliant mayo (plain and spicy) from whole foods/amazon. brand is primal foods. I made a lot of egg or chicken salad served with celery. Make sure she is on instagram following w30 and Facebook if she is on that. It takes a lot of cooking. I would do a Sunday roasted vegetable medley for the whole week. Chicken sausage is good. Easy to cut up and sauté in ghee with vegetables. If she is on a budget, have her go to pinterest and check out whole 30 compliant foods at trader joes. They have many options and is less than a regular grocery store. I would make a dinner and have for lunch the next day. That helped. Oh, and planning out meals. Have her check out pinterest for inspiration. I hope it helps her. I did feel good after doing it.
How long of a notice did you give today? I think technically, you'd have until Friday to weigh in!
I'm a bit hungry. Haven't had any fruit today, so I think I'll have some strawberries. See you tomorrow.

Such good news Frieda. I'm glad you will have some spare change finally.
Shari, since you led the meeting I assume you met the weight requirements. That is something for which to credit yourself.
I went to Lincoln to help Dd3 move. She has to be out by Friday. I was duly impressed, wish I'd not skipped the opportunities the last couple weeks to render aid, and have escalated this to the status of crisis. I will go tomorrow or Thursday to help pack or move. Unfortunately I will have two 2 year Olds in tow. The parents of Little k expanded their store and are assembling displays and sticking the product for a grand reopening Saturday. They have a friend's and family party Friday night. To their amazement you get little progress made with two year old son in attendance. I am going to reestablish my parameters for days or periods of a day that will be my free time. But this doesn't seem like the week to do that.

Good evening. Just reading here. Martha, I hear you on who's touched public food like donuts. That really works to keep me away (esp chocolate fountains!)
Frieda, thanks for the hot tips on W30. DD doesn't leave many stones unturned, is doing it w friend, and is a fan of Pinterest, so she's prob hit many of your bases. She cooked on the weekend in preparation - chicken and potatoes in crock, and salmon and something, and put up meals to have all week. Also egg cups, as she called them - baked in muffin tin w green peppers diced in them. She has discovered the joys of coffee in the last year but is big on sweet creamers. She was going into the week w either (unsweetened) coconut milk or almond milk to put in her coffee. More power to her! I had told main folks at WW before about leaving, of course, but mtg members of Tues didn't know until today. I'm done end of April. And yes, you're right - I tech could weigh in the 31st. I usually WI the first week of month! My habits need to be better! April on Saturday. Time to fold up my tent. One long but good day. Another presents itself tomorrow. May the sun shine. G'night.

Waving, Linda-of-the-wee-ones! I see you popped in. How about your fancy black chickens? Any more beyond the first one?
