Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Slept better last night. I’m still getting up more than usual, but I’m getting more sleep overall.
They’re talking about the Bills game on the radio and how they didn’t like the piped in fans. From how they are describing it I’m wondering if we watched the same game. Or maybe I was just more focused on the actual game. Oh well. Next week we’re playing in Miami. There will be fans in the stand, probably a lot of Bills fans too. So many Buffalo transplants in Florida.
Just picking up around the house, nothing really planned. A couple loads of laundry on the agenda.
See ya tomorrow

Joyce, I’m glad the Bills won and that you enjoyed watching the game. That’s interesting about the comments on the radio about the game. Bill did watch the Tampa Bay/New Orleans game and wasn’t happy with the outcome. This was the first game that both starting quarterbacks were over 40. It is important for you to try to eat as healthy as possible, I know easier said than done at this difficult time for you.
Martha, hope your cousins stay safe from the fires. What town in Oregon do you live in? I think you mentioned it but I apparently forgot. Besides the smoky/foggy air are you in any danger?
Ruth, hope you are having a good day. Did DS and DIL make it home safely?
This afternoon between noon and 5 PM the tech is supposed to come to repair my stove. I also called last week to report that my lower oven doesn’t hold an even temp and they are supposed to check that out. This morning at 8:00 am there was a BIG dumpster delivered to the house next door. No one has lived in the house since last November. The man died in May and the wife is going to continue living at the assisted living place where they were living when he died. The son and daughter have been over doing things in the house for most of the summer. The son lives in New Jersey and only comes up about once a month. Even though the neighborhood is over 50 years old their house is only 15 years old because it burnt down in May of 2004 and then it was completely rebuilt and they moved back in in November of 2005. I thought they would probably have someone like a junk removal service do the work but I guess the kids will be emptying the house out. I know the house will sell quickly when they put it on the market if they are asking a reasonable price.

G'morning~ Actually got up on time this morning. Took my time getting ready. Listened to my meditation with earphones on, at work. Not quite as effective but it felt good. I've missed doing meditation in the mornings.
Joy - (((hugs))) Hope your talk with DB goes well. I think we are so used to having fans in the stands, we don't like the none/partial crowd. To each his own. Taking it easy after several sleepless nights sounds like a good plan.
Dottie - I live in Portland, close to WA border. Other than smokey/ashy air, not in any danger. I feel for your neighbors kids. Siblings and I had to cleaned out 2 houses, both were 2-story. One was emptied and sold. The other we have stuff in basement. The top is rented out to a family. They'd like to have basement also but...not right now.
Ruth - Hope DS & family make it home safely.
Back to work I go..... (((hugs)))

Just came back from DBs house. Our talk went well. He gave me some paperwork to fill out in case I can’t find my old ones. Health Care Proxy, Living Will, Power of Attorney, and an actual Will. We talked best and worse case scenarios, didn’t dwell on too much. We also talked about our parents, and friends who are no longer with us. I was ok, DB and DSIL were ok - we knew we’d have to have this discussion and I also lit the fire for them to get their Will in order.
I’m doing ok. Next I need to talk to my boss in work. I’ll need a few days off after we get angiogram scheduled, not sure of that date yet but I’m sure it will be soon.
I was planning on doing laundry, there was a water main break - water just came back on. I guess I’ll leave that for tomorrow.
See ya tomorrow

Good afternoon everyone! Got a few things done this morning. Today is our 52nd wedding anniversary. We are ordering from the Italian restaurant where DD ordered our Mother’s Day & Father’s Day dinners. But we didn’t order any bread; and we didn’t order any dessert. They have a chocolate lava cake, but I decided the last time I had it that it was too much and my stomach has been bothering me so not going to over do it!
Joy, prayers continue and {{HUGS}} to you. Hope all goes well when you talk to your DB. If DSIL’s DS also has this, maybe they have already had that talk. Happy to hear you are sleeping a little better! We’re here for you!
Dottie, sure hope they get your ovens both working. I get my new washing machine later this week so I need to get moving on cleaning out the laundry room. And the steps into it so they have easy access! We’ll have 2 options for them to get into it. I want Stan to unhook it maybe tomorrow (coming Thursday), so I can move it and clean behind it and the dryer and scrub the floor and clean the tray that is under it. And I know there are lots of dust bunnies back there.
Martha, our Oregon friends split their time between Portland and Mosier, where they own a lavender farm. We’ve stayed both places with them and much prefer the farm. They have a townhouse in Portland. Not sure which area. Glad to hear you guys are safe.
We watched the Vikings game and Stan got so fed up with the background “crowd” noise that he turned it way down because it about drowned out the announcers. And a friend/former colleague on FB commented the same thing on the game as she’s also a Vikings fan. Hope they fix it before next week.
The kids got home safely last night and we just emotionally (and physically) drained! DIL posted on FB about her mother telling Mara that she was a “demon” child and didn’t know how to behave and told the kids that they should just “smack her around” when she mis-behaves. This was right before they left. DIL was so angry! She said she looks to her MIL & 2 SsIL for examples of good mothering and how to do things. That made me feel good. There are a lot of things I would do differently raising our 3; but we always supported them, let them choose their own interests, and never told them they couldn’t do or be what they chose!! And we are proud of all 3 and all 6 granddaughters.
Ok, I need to go get some things done. I’m changing over Mara’s summer to winter clothes I keep here; I want to make progress on the downstairs bedroom & bathroom; and I want to mail some yarn to DD to make a pompon for Harper’s hat! Have a good day all.
