Hello,
Happy Sunday to all. I thought I was going to post yesterday but got caught in a never ending whirl of Windows updates. Yeesh. I hope that is all done for awhile.
Lou, I agree. Politics = opinion. There's no point in trying to change someone else's view. I have friends and family who are extreme in both directions, and I do my best to just not engage in any discussion with them. I hope that your parents are doing better. I found it encouraging that your mom is leaving the hospital. I hope she recovers soon. Thank goodness that your brother was there to intervene.
Brenda, I was having a political discussion with DSis recently. We don't try to change one another's mind about anything, so she is one of the few people I feel comfortable having a conversation with on the subject. I would have a hard time being around someone who tried to engage in debating/arguing all the time, though. I could see why you might like to relocate to DE. I personally would prefer being near as many immediate family members as possible.
Debbie, you are a sewing whiz. Wow...what a seamstress! I haven't done anything past mending for a long time. I am glad that I at least know the basics and know how to follow a pattern. I am happy for you that you are able to be out nearly daily for walks or meals with friends. I think that is wonderful.
Waving hi to Vicki and Lori and hoping you are both doing well.
I went to the office on Friday and got most of my belongings out. I am going to need to make another trip to get some odds and ends. I spent nearly two hours packing up and delivering some surplus office supplies to a nearby elementary school. We have had a community partnership with them for over 20 years. I learned on Friday that there are more supplies for them, so I may be doing that exercise again. I will also need to go back and finish getting my office cleaned out. I got my desktop, all desk drawers, one filing cabinet drawer and a five shelf bookcase emptied. I also retrieved my standing desk, which is still in DH's truck. I had help with loading it, but it is way too heavy for me to handle solo. I still have the remaining three filing cabinet drawers and a small shelf to empty. It's amazing how much stuff I have amassed during 20 years in the same building. I actually pared some of it down when I switched offices three or four years ago.
I took Thursday off to spend the day with DSis, she posted pics on FB and tagged me. We haven't spent a day together in quite some time. It was a great day. We went to a state park and then to a nearby small, scenic town.
I did 11 miles HM training yesterday. Whew. I was really sore and achy after three solid days of being active. They were three different kinds of activity, which was good. I am still not in as good of a routine as I would like with being consistently active. It was easier when I was leaving the house to go to the office M - F. In speaking with several of my former office dwellers, it seems I am not alone with that experience.
I hope all are well and having a great weekend.
Take care, Ginia
