Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
FRESH START MONDAY! What is your accountability for the week?

We drove the golf cart to the nature trail, which was lots of fun. I can see where it will become too chilly, it's a breezy experience. It does come with a cover, but that might be more trouble than it's worth. After breakfast, we took a load to the recycling center, then on to Walmart, Home Depot, and Publix. Had lunch, then rested for the rest of the day, other than laundry and emptying one box. I am just as sore as I was before the steroids, although I do loosen up some as the day goes on. The goal for the day is to find a primary care doctor. I am going to ice my legs after I'm done here.
Murphy- Hope your headache is better. Interesting that your ex is reacting to your FB posts.
GG- WTG for the rollover!
Cindy- Yay for the cast being off! Don't overdo. Thanks for the update on the friend. Hopefully she doesn't allow herself to get in that situation again, especially since the "friends" are not very reliable.
Cathy- WTG AF, OP, healthy meals, feeling good.

Good morning all! We had the HOA meeting last night. Everyone was in masks and I was glad to see that. Found out that one of the board members has just been diagnosed with Covid. Of course he wasn't there. We have so many elderly people who live alone in the complex. The secretary is going to put out a newsletter encouraging all the residents to give us family contact information in the event of an emergency. My friend Carolyn has all of my contact info and I have hers but it just seems like a wise move. They voted unanimously to have me buy a new computer!! They all were so kind in thanking me for doing a good job with the bookkeeping. I've been doing all the HOA business on my work computer or my own laptop because the old laptop for the HOA won't even boot up anymore. I'm going to take it to Office Depot though to see if they can get the old records off it.
Amy - Sounds wise to go ahead and get set up with a PCP. I want to call and schedule a follow up appointment with my doctor to see what to do about my bone density.
Cindy - I can sure relate to the feelings your friend is going through! That was sweet of her to bring you flowers. I honestly don't know how I feel about contact with my ex. I really accepted his friend request because I wanted to try to reconnect with my stepchildren. I do not "follow" the ex's posts so the only time his name pops up is if he responds to one of my posts.
Cathy - I don't blame you for being cautious about going out with your friends. I just have a sneaking suspicion that we may be facing another "wave" when flu season gets rolling that may lead to another shut down. I'm just trying to get stocked back up on everything so I won't have to worry. Although with my job, I'm sure I'll still have to get out and about. I am always glad for grocery pickup!
GG - yay for the points rollover! I had a dream last night that I signed back up for WW!
No big plans for my birthday today. I'll go to choir practice tonight. Just chillin today! Everyone have a wonderful day! Murphy

The sign must come like dawn. You cannot see its arrival, but know when it is there. –Diane Wakoski
Let us take a break, sit by the river, and watch the current quietly flow. Let's just think, for a moment, about where the current is going, the shores it will brush on its way, the clouds reflected on its surface, the animals that come to drink from it, the bobbers it gently nudges downstream.
Our lives sometimes seem like the river, wandering to the west, the south, back toward the east, seemingly without direction at all. Yet we can take comfort in this thought for, like the river, we are always headed in the direction we are meant to go. Without trying, without knowing, we are part of the larger pattern of things, and we nourish many others just by passing through their lives.
What shores will my life touch today?

Hi All!
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
Fresh Start Monday! What is your accountability for the week? Better effort will create success.
Move More Accountability Did better on steps today so that is in the right direction. Keep on trying
Sleep Accountability Better sleep
Nutrition Accountability AF. DS brought home Buffalo Wild Wings! No wings, cheese curds with caramel sauce to dip them in! I really need to work on my eating
Happiness Accountability Okay day.
Habit Accountability I think my only habit is waking up every day. Working on it!
Check In Daily Accountability HERE! This is helping even if I'm not being very accountable!
Amy, did you have any luck finding a PC doctor? Is the storm coming up your way? The weather map seems to be all over the place. Do you have warm clothes from your trips to Indiana? I remember going to MA from FL and once there, had to buy a winter coat. Hope your legs are feeling better.
Murphy, happy, happy, happiness! Here is to your best year yet! Great idea to have contact information for HOA members. When a tornado came through the 'hood in 2012 (before we moved in) the HOA secretary had a list of homeowners so they could make sure everyone was accounted for...one couple had to be dug out from the rubble of their home. Luckily no one was seriously hurt. Hope choir practice went well and there was good news on health of members.
GG, glad you had peace and quiet. I don't miss those times of not remembering and yet even if I remembered, I knew I needed to stop. Glad DD is there for you! yay for being down....and I'm trying to be careful!
Carole, so happy to see your post. So glad you are having a wonderful time!!
Cathy, thoughts for your DS on his international travel. I know he will take precautions, I hope others will be as responsible. I had to look up Hurricane Sally...enjoyed it! My first thought was Mustang Sally!
Hi Jan!
I'm watching the weather channel. DB and DSIL are in SC and are on the edge of the storm path. Need to get some motivation going!
Hugs to all, Cindy

Wednesday: AF/OP/Tracked-within points for the day/no exercise yesterday but 40 minutes walking while reading so far today.
I think we are not going shopping today but will go in the next few days. We have enough fruit/veg from the garden and plenty of dried and tinned goods to make meals. So, we will not brave the streets but instead stay close to home.
Heard that my son's house near Moblie sustained some wind damage with a big that was broken in half. Luckily it fell toward the yard damaging a Satsuma citrus tree instead of their home.
AMY: Love the mascot of 2020 image...had to send it to my sister Sorry your aches and pains are not better. Hope they will improve as you settle into a new normal schedule with the same activities (mostly) every day. How will you go about finding a primary care physician?
MURPHY: I hope you had an enjoyable day and that you celebrated your birthday in some little way.
GG: I am glad you find ways to have quiet time for yourself when staying with your grandchildren.
CAROL: I am guessing you are enjoying the time away vacationing.
CINDY: Maybe I was thinking of Mustang Sally? I had not heard Hurricane Sally till I googled it. Off to google Mustang Sally now I like Mustang Sally better
