Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
I talked with scheduler yesterday, the angiogram is going to be on 9/29. I told my boss and was happy to hear that they are bringing back one of the PT girls from the business office to work in my place. I liked her and will be training her next week. She’ll catch on quickly. Staff is slowly learning that someone will be in my place, I told boss ok to let people know I’m going for testing, just not the details although I’m starting to share. Too hard to hide that seeing I’m training someone. That’s ok, I’ll get more prayers.
I read about recovery after the procedure and I’m going to reach out to some people to see if I can get someone to stay with me through the night for a couple of days. During the day I can call my neighbor, but nights are too long and I would like to have someone around. I’m also going to call the church and contact the senior center. I think my new neighbor works at a hospital, maybe she knows someone.
Looks like I got a conversation going about necessary paperwork. That’s not a bad thing. Even DB said they had everything but a Will in place and are going to work on that. I’m working on my Health Care Proxy (couldn’t find old one), Living Will, POA and actual Will. Only one of those needs to be notarized and I will have that all done this weekend.
Thanks for giving me a place to talk about this, it helps.
Dottie - that service guy was really rude. I don’t know why he thought it was ok to talk to you like that. Ugh! Thank goodness you have that service contract.
Martha - it is nice to see you posting more often. They are even saying that we will experience some effects of the smoke in Buffalo. I hope things start to clear up soon.
Ruth - I can totally understand DDIL not always being appreciative. If you’re not brought up in a caring environment you don’t know what to expect.
I haven’t had much of an appetite, I need to start eating better. I’ll spend some time on the weekend prepping meals for the freezer, and I’ll get a few healthier entrees to have.
WW workshop today, phone calls to make. Gotta keep busy.
Have a great day

Joyce, I agree with you that if the people at work know they will be praying and rooting for you more. I think most work places are rumor mills. I hope you can find someone to stay with you for a few nights, that sounds like a good idea. We are here to listen whenever you need someone to listen to you, take care.
Martha, nice that you had a few minutes to stop in. I’m sure the air is a problem for so many in your area. Sounds like a good plan to get to work earlier so you can do your meditation before work starts.
Ruth, Bill and I updated our will and power of attorney paperwork in 2016. They probably should be reviewed again in another year or so, not that anything has changed but mainly some hospitals want a current power of attorney if something happens. We had several copies of the power of attorney made when we updated our wills. We bring one with us to Florida and keep a copy in our safe. I know DS and DDIL have a will, I’m not sure how current it is. They made it out after DGS#1 was born and he is 10 now. Good luck with the cap for Carol, how is she doing?
The fires are horrible for so many people. We are getting a haze in the air, it is not really affecting the air quality but gives very interesting sunsets, that is when it is most noticeable. Bill and I are almost finished taking out the bush in the front yard that we wanted to get rid of. We only work for about 45 minutes each morning on it. I have another bag ready to take to the donation center. I wish our church would have their rummage sale but the state won’t permit that type of gathering yet. I added more item to the boxes for church, hopefully by next spring things will be better and I can donate the items to church.

Good afternoon all. Leaving in a half hour for my massage. Looking forward to it as always.
Joy, I’m surprised they didn’t tell you to have someone with you for the first 24 hrs after your procedure. They often do for most anything anymore. I think it’s a great idea. And having the discussion about all the paperwork is a great idea. I need to bring it up with all 3 of our kids. And we are always here for you to discuss anything! And you have my # and my email if you ever want to chat in a non-public forum.
Dottie, I’d report that repairman! He’s not a good representative of the company with that attitude! Good luck with the bush. We have a couple we should dig out.
On a CB’ing note: I discovered that the jogging stroller I had listed wasn’t the brand I had listed it as. So I resisted it. And I’ve still had 2 people asking about it and one is coming to look at it while I’m gone. DH knows the drill. And a guy is coming to look at the swing set after I get home. Would love to get it sold before winter. Out of the backyard where it’s been killing DH’s grass for 9 or so years. I’m afraid the guy who is coming to look at it has boys who are too old for it; but that won’t be my issue if he buys it! It’s better for kids under 6 or so. Sawyer is even getting big for it.
Ok, going to get things ready so I can leave for my appt. I’m her first massage of the afternoon and so if I’m a few minutes early, I get a little longer massage. Pays to have known her for so long!!! Will check back in later.

It helps when I do meditation, even in the office. I've been feeling scattered so hoping it centers me.
I'm glad that Joy sparked a conversation about important papers. I lost a former co-worker with 2 kids under 4yo. She & DH were killed in accident. Kids, not in car seats, were injured. No will or documents stating what they wanted. The two families had to figure out the plan. One family would raise the kids (they had kids already) and an aunt from the other family would be like a nanny. What a mess! That's when I started in on my family, especially parents. At the time, they had property in WA/CA/OR. All three of us kids were over 21 yrs old. Can you imagine what a mess that would have been? It was still a mess but....
Joy - You can't have enough prayers/hugs. I think you are wise to have someone spend the nights while recovering. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Dottie - You & DH are smart to take papers with you when going to FL. You might want to make sure that they are valid in both states. Gov't likes to make things difficult for us.
Ruth - I'm sure you are eager for the delivery guys to arrive with the new washer. Enjoy your massage. Less stuff around your house is always good. Make $$ on it, even better.
Sorry that "I" am sharing the smoky air with others. It is getting marginally better but it will a few more days before back in healthier ranges.
Hugs!

I got sent home from work. No, not because I caused problems. The air quality was raising complaints from people - scratchy throats, itchy eyes, headaches - so I am at home. I will make the most of it as I can. Laundry, making granola & cookies is on the agenda. DH knows I am home.
Hugs~
