Happy hump day friends. Slept well and once again woke up to a 41 degree temperature. Last night I put the afghan on the bed and slept like a baby.
I need to check the list to see what's on it then decide when we'll do the shopping. Other than that, no plans for the day.
Keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers and will CBL.

Happy to say that my indulgence only 'set me back' .5 Love when that happens. Time for another coffee. Some days I just can't seem to get enough

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Wednesday!! We also woke to temps in the 40's. We decided to skip the fire pit last night to watch America's Got Talent Semi-Finals. I read yesterday (in fact finished a complete short book). I stretched out on the couch and relaxed literally all afternoon! That must have been what I needed - as the night before I was bone-tired but not sleepy! Maybe over-tired?? So yesterday I relaxed a lot and then slept like a baby last night. I woke early because DH had an errand to run and I needed to pick him up. He got two new tires yesterday and then took the truck in to have the tires mounted and aligned this morning. He tried to make an appointment, but they said 'first come, first served' so he headed down there as soon as they opened at 8 a.m. Then he called me when he needed a ride home. We stopped at The Coney for a coffee and so I could visit with our niece. It was good to see her. We haven't had any family gatherings and I've missed her!!
I had great news this morning! I received my first unemployment deposit in my bank account. I am treating it like 'extra money' and plan to let it build up in our savings account. Of course, if I need it I will spend it, but hopefully not. It's probably just me, but I feel more confident after the first deposit - that (1) I really WAS approved;and (2) they got the account number correct.
Ann ~ I know you are enjoying this cool weather! We are predicted to have 80 today but then an abrupt cool-down right behind it, with a high tomorrow of only 65 (brrr). The weekend promises to be cool which should make it perfect for the fire pit! Thanks for the reminder of all the eating out I did recently which probably contributed to my small gain. Sometimes I forget...... Your words of wisdom (about taking care of ones self first) were right on!!
Pam ~ Glad you think your temps are dropping. Fall cannot be far behind! Good job with the weeding. I have to agree that working outdoors would trump working indoors. Glad things are going well for your DH.
Judy ~ Hope things calm down for you soon. Bad things do tend to come in groups I have found. You're certainly getting more than your share right now. But taking care of yourself is so vitally important!! Some things you can change (or fix) and some things you cannot. It is good to know which is which and sometimes you have to 'fish or cut bait'. Sounds like you and your DH are a good pair.
I never did my IP cooking yesterday. Instead I warmed up some FF turkey gravy and chopped up some cooked turkey breast and served it over whole wheat noodles with green beans and mango salad. I just didn't feel like cooking! Just enjoyed a lazy day. I did put the pork chops in to marinate overnight (and used that as an excuse for why I didn't cook them) and tonight they will be terrific!!
So tonight is pork chops, fingerling potatoes, peas & carrots and NSA applesauce. I have it all at the ready. I will probably take another day of rest today. I already had my yogurt & berries w/F1 for breakfast and am deciding on a low or zero SP lunch. I also hope to get out for a walk today.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Sue. So happy that you got to relax and slept well. Sometimes all you need to do is just listen to your body and relax. We also didn't get to use the screen room last night. Too cold for that. I don't mind as we can relax just as well indoors. All about the comfort Tonight will be our easy cook free night. A friend of ours gave us some chili that he made using the Italian sausage that Carl made and gave to him. Win win in our books. We will have that over rice which is already cooked and ready. How sweet and simple is that I enjoy cooking as well as Carl but once in awhile it's nice to have a break. Kudos on your first deposit. I was also afraid that it wouldn't come 'back in the day' and when it did, like you, I was overjoyed. We truly ARE all about those little thing Nice the tires are one and done and you got to visit with your DN and enjoy a coffee. I just folded and put away a load of laundry. I'm all 'caught up' with that and what little housework I did today is good enough. Like Santa I checked the list and actually we could put it off today...I'll see if Carl feels like going out. I'm good either way...so long as we get R done before the weekend. Keeping y'all in my thoughts and prayers. Will CBL My day is both planned and tracked. I had oatmeal with a banana for breakfast lunch will be a salad with lo chicken and a cup of veggie soup and supper the chili

Just got back from a nice hood walk. It's beautiful out there today. Lots of folks out and about, so it took us longer than usual. We had to cut it short as miss LuLa was getting too hot toward the end. We were going to put her inside and walk ourselves...but that didn't happen. Later we'll go out again. Decided to not shop today. What we need isn't urgent and we'll do it before the weekend. Just not in the mood to 'mask up' Finished lunch...now going to see what mischief I can get myself into...nothing that involves cooking or cleaning

Hi All ~
We have an absolutely beautiful day today!! It is still cool (in the 70's) with a nice breeze but sunshine. The wind chimes are singing! DH brought home Popeye's chicken sandwiches for our lunch and we ate outdoors on the front porch. We haven't sat out there for several days so it was really nice.
I have marinated and seasoned the pork chops, and cleaned the fingerling potatoes and they are in a steamer pan to cook in the Instant Pot. I am undecided if I'll cook them all together, or do the pork chops first and then the potatoes?? I'll decide when I see how much room I have.
DH is pacing around waiting for his truck. They found a couple more things it needed (and which did not surprise him at all). It has been pulling to one side and they told him besides the new tires that he took in and the alignment, he needs a new ball joint on that side as well. We told them to go ahead - even after he and I made a joke this morning that they would find more things wrong with it. These make perfect sense, and will make it safer, and the new tires will wear better and longer. BUT he is not patient when he has to wait.

LOL Sue I can totally identify with your DH. I am not patient when I'm kept waiting. Carl, on the other hand doesn't mind. It never surprised me whenever a vehicle goes 'in' that more stuff is found. Actually it's a blessing in disguise as in the long run it sometimes ends up costing you less. Your pork chops and fingerling potatoes sound wonderful. Last new times I was at Hannafords they didn't any those potatoes. Maybe when I go tomorrow I'll luck out. Our day is beautiful as well. We went out for an additional walk and we saw a fox in our travels. Luckily miss LuLa was too busy sniffing a blade of grass to notice Will CBL

Hi Ann ~
LOL about LuLa sniffing and missing the fox!! I don't always find the fingerling potatoes either. I think DH brought these home from Kroger. Last time he got Yukon Gold and these are fingerling.
While watching our Governor give her press briefing, she mentioned flu shots (she got hers on air the other day). So I suggested to DH that we go as we had agreed on this week. There was no one waiting and no one at the Pharmacy window, so we got right in and out in just a very few minutes. By the time we left, there were several other patients waiting. I looked it up and we got them on exactly the same date last year!!
They called that his truck was ready and the gal mentioned that the mechanic said to tell him that his water pump is leaking. He knew he was losing water somewhere but didn't know where. We had talked about taking it somewhere that it could be 'diagnosed' and then we got it for free. It is a job that he CAN do but I think we've about decided to have the guy do it that has worked on his truck before. We'll see ..... either way I just want it done so we'll be at a stopping place.
I have put the pork chops in the Instant Pot and the potatoes (inside my vegetable steamer basket) fit right on top so I can cook them all together. I have peas & carrots for the m/w and some NSA Applesauce cups ready.
I skipped walking today as I stayed busy all day. Maybe tomorrow??? Have a lovely evening!!

Sue love when it all fits into the IP at once. I hear you where you just want the vehicle fixed so that it's over and done with. Skipping walking happens. With all that you do in a day, I'm sure you got in enough activity. LOL to getting your flu shots exactly a year apart. Unfortunately we had to wait as the gal was tied up with a customer via the phone. We chose to wait, so I just walked around in Walgreens until I was called. We are happy to have that over and done with.
Took my final walk of the day. Didn't see Mr. Fox LOL.
Sweet dreams all.............

Good evening all!
Debbie and I walked and it was cooler with a nice breeze. In a couple of days, we are supposed to get a cool front that will put night time lows in the 60's and daytime highs in the 80's. I can't wait!!!
After my walk I had blueberries, yogurt and seeds for breakfast and then headed to town for a Walmart pickup. I got the groceries put away and jumped in the shower so we could leave at 10:00 for hyperbaric, as they had an earlier spot for him. I stopped by Walmart after dropping DH off so that I could pick up my favorite yogurt, which our Walmart couldn't fill for some unknown reason. I walked around to get a few more steps in and found 2 Halloween books for Madison and Leah. I was hungry, so bought some rice cake chips and ate a few with the banana I brought. I drove back to the little park near the doctor's office and pulled a lawn chair out of the hatchback and spent a pleasant 40 minutes or so sitting under a tree. There was a nice breeze and it was quite pleasant. I had planned to return a call to one of my Nebraska cousins, but she didn't answer.
By the time we got home I was quite hungry, since it was 1:45. I had some leftover smothered okra and green beans from the fridge with a half sandwich of turkey on Dave's. I finished it off with a plum which was VERY juicy and tasted like the ones we picked from our tree when I was a kid. Afterwards, I took a catnap and then played WWF for a while.
DH was determined to cook our dinner of chicken parm--chicken cutlets topped with mozzarella cheese and served with whole wheat pasta and homemade marinara sauce. It was delicious! We had sauteed zucchini and onions as a side. He got the chicken ready for the oven and then returned to his chair like a good boy and let me orchestrate the rest of it.
Madison face-timed to read us a bedtime story called The Leaves are Falling, illustrated by----Madison! She was SO proud and chattered away for quite a while before DD3 decreed it was time for Madison's bedtime story and lights out. DH watched tv and I played WWF. Now he has gone to bed and I will read a bit before turning in.
Debbie has to work tomorrow, so I plan to be at our service station for 7:30 to have an oil change and tires rotated and balanced. The maintenance due light has been on for over a week now, but there just hasn't been time to deal with it. I may or may not get a walk in but that's okay. I haven't missed a day since 9/4/20.
Sue - I have never tried the Popeye's chicken sandwich. I will have to keep it in mind as I love Popeye's chicken! Missing a day or two of walking won't matter a bit. Sometimes it's good to give your body a bit of a rest.
Ann - A fox? I didn't realize your area was that rural, but I guess animals are showing up in more suburban areas, too, as their natural habitats disappear. I saw one once driving to work in the early morning when the Mississippi was really high and lots of animals moved to avoid the flooding.
Judy - I am hoping you had a very quiet, uneventful day. You deserve a break! I thought of you today while at Walmart. I saw a copy of Julia Donaldson's "Room on the Broom". I gave Madison a copy a while back at Halloween and we both LOVED it. We read it every single day I was there and I didn't tire of it. Such a cute story and well-illustrated, too. It would make a nice treat for your DGKS if they don't already have it. They may have seen the cartoon on Netflix, too.
Off to read a bit. I just started Jodi Picoult's Change of Heart. I usually enjoy her books. Timely topics that are written in each character's point of view. Sweet dreams!
