What do you have for dinner/supper?

I always have a raw vegetable salad at dinner time. Sometimes I have beans in it to make it a complete dinner. I also have leftover meat cut up in it with either leftover rice or beans. For dinners with my husband it is usually a piece of meat and a starch. We will eat pork, beef, or chicken. Rice or beans are usually the starches. To get in my fish I'll have tuna salad and rice cakes twice a week for dinner along with my salad. I've lost my urge to cook and have no food imagination so my eating is plain.

It depends...sometimes a smoothie, sometimes cheese in bread with fruit, sometimes a sandwich, could be leftovers, it is usually something lighter than lunch was.

I usually have something lighter then lunch and early as I don't eat in the evening because I don't sleep well if I eat late. Some foods I eat are a sandwich with one slice of bread, usually ham with catsup or light mayonnaise and a large wedge of lettuce and some fruit. I also like egg salad on one slice of bread. I like to eat whole foods all day and am working on eating that way at night instead of sandwiches listed above.

Friday night pizza without fail. The rest of of time I cook a couple of recipes a week with enough leftovers available to cover the rest of the week. I cook from Clean Eating magazine. I have copies going back many years, organized by month/season and rotate them as the calendar turns.

As Fall approaches, I will turn to soups. Try to have fish a couple of times per week too. And we do a half share weekly CSA vegetable pick up so I use those items in meals first.

I have at least 3-4 oz of protein, 2+ cups of (usually) steamed veggies of all colors and types, 1/2-1C of grain, Yukon gold or sweet potato, jasmine rice, pasta, or risotto.
I eat whatever Mr. Luvinnlife decides to serve. Last night it was roasted Blackened chicken breast tenderloins, Milanese risotto, steamed kale.

Lani, I've often thought about getting a subscription to Clean Eating. Do they use mostly whole foods in the recipes? What are some of your favorite recipes from the magazine? Do they include articles on health? I have a place on the internet I can get magazines quite reasonable and they have Clean Eating for $27.97 for ten months. Is that a good price? Thanks!🤗

I cook nightly but not always complicated meals. I like to make a fresh salad, usually with some crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese if I have the PP for it. And steamed veggies, usually with some Brummel butter and some flavored vinegar. And the main is either a veggie patty of some sort (they're quite good now, turkey cutlets, chick'n breast, burger, etc.) or I make veggie enchiladas or lasagna and that carries us for 2-3 dinners. In the Fall/Winter/Spring I'll sub salad sometimes for a yam or some sort of squash.
ETA: I love cooking, it's relaxing and creative for me, so to me it's not a chore.
