Since Bob was making spaghetti last night, I started this early. I will PTMH. Doing well tracking and moving. I just canβt drink a lot during the day but have water with all of my meals. I have slightly less than 2 cups of coffee and water for breakfast. Becky, I hope your hand is healing. I canβt imagine how much it hurt. Today I will just drop a few things off at Rachelβs. Not sure about the rest of the day but I will take two walks since our high will only be 88. Remember how bad it was Labor Day weekend just 10 days ago? Tonight Iβm baking panko crusted chicken breasts to serve with cauliflower or squash and salad. Friday morning I am taking an online cooking class through Fresno State featuring vegetarian recipes. Itβs taught by Hilori who used to teach at Whole Foods. The recipes are baba ganoush, forbidden rice with vegetables and a roasted beet and goat cheese recipe.

Audrey thanks for the start. I'm still loling over the B zapper. I hope you enjoy the cooking class. Sounds interesting.
Tomorrow I shall also PTMH and probably go to Hannafords. Seems like the list is growing.
Sweet dreams.

I will continue to PTMH. We are taking Scooter to the vet.Hoping it's just allergies but she scratches her eyes and bites her paws and then when it hurts she whines. She may just need another dosage of Apoquel.
Thanks Audrey. The finger and hand is still swollen and hurts but not as bad as this morning. It may take another day for it to go down.

Becky, Lily Belle has allergies too. We need the shampoo her groomer used.Iβm glad your hand is getting better.
I forgot To mention I wrote my second letter today to a friend who lives in New Providence New Jersey. Her husband had a serious stroke last year and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her.She was the librarian where I taught English and she was the one on the Dating Game.

Becky, hope the hand is back to normal soon.
Tomorrow Liz is coming back in to go with me Friday for the PET scan.
I shall do as I know to do.

I will: Keep trucking...meant tracking It seems to work when I journal so will do so. I have 40 minutes of walking while reading in this morning and hope to get 20 more in. We have plenty in the house not to go shopping today so am happy about that.
My son's house had some wind damage and a tree broke in half falling away from the house damaging a Satsuma tree but all are fine.
JUNE: I think I have only had deer meat one time as a child...and maybe bison once as an adult. Pretty much family had ground beef, fish sticks, pasta, tuna...and vegetarian dishes...it has been a LONG time since childhood so might have to ask my brother and sister to remind me Hope you enjoyed your longish walk on the track.
MJ: Sorry to hear about your WW GF but glad her injuries are not serious. Hope your nephew's recovery from back surgery goes well. After my BIL's three back surgeries without much relief I am skeptical about that type of surgery. You mentioned phases four and five...I thought four was it? How long has Fr. Ted Zuber lived since his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis? I know that my BIL is waiting for the reading his his medical test and will talk to the tumor board on Monday. He hears many negative things and then the positive like this but pancreatic cancer is a tough one, for sure!
ANN: I know cooler then cold weather will come eventually and it is somewhat cooler BUT I also know that with cool weather without heat there will be some days bundled up with blankets I like the idea of mail-in ballots but have not voted for a LONG time. I feel so often that when I do vote it doesn't make a difference
SUSI: I am so sad for your DGS It is so hard to lose someone you love. It is amazing your season is ending soon...seems it finally started and is shorter than usual this year. Strange year indeed.
BECKY: Hooray for PT approval and your first appointment! I am eager to hear what their current assessment and game plan afor your knee will be. We have wasps and bees that come to eat any scraps left on the cat's food dish...they are big and scary. Sorry you were stung!
AUDREY: The women sat outside in the heat at Starbucks and I know they are missing people but then so am I. I just can't see the need to go out like that. Ah well...to each her own. How long does the cooking class last that you are taking? Do you cook during the class? Is it live or??? Curious me wants to know Snail mail REAL letters are keepers. I still have some from the year I married and moved to Lebanon...amazing to look back and read them
LADONNA: I am glad you will get to vacation, see friends and spend time outside with them. Cooler weather where you are must be nice.
BEE: It will be good to have the PET Scan behind you and results known.

Good morning, Audrey - Ann - Becky - Bee - Cathy - June - Ladonna - Susi - Pam - and AWF!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)...
And a few extra for all the students headed back to their classrooms... whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...
THANK YOU for your prayers for Father Ted; there are no updates as of last night, which (I guess) is good news. He received his diagnosis in February of this year; because of his age, he opted for palliative care when needed, but no treatment.

It was 68* at 6:45 AM and the forecast is for cloudy all day and mid-70*s later. Last night's sunset was interesting - a vivid red-orange ball in a greige-y sky - the smoke effect on the high sky.
Yesterday I got a call-back for Phase FIVE, from the chaplain at CC. In notes that DBabySis has, Russ states that he doesn't care what kind of funeral is held, but that he wants a separate Memorial Service at the Cedar Crest Interfaith Chapel. So now I know whom to contact and what the guidelines are. (NOTE: Phase FIVE is final arrangements and estate settlement. Family wants to pre-arrange and pre-pay as much as possible, and have a plan in place. Much of the work of Phase FOUR will lead to a smooth Phase FIVE.)
In the afternoon we went to our local Wells Fargo branch and took care of closing Russ' checking and savings accounts with them. He thought he'd closed them in Fall 2019. I've set up a payment to the already-closed WF credit card to end that as well. One more thing off the Phase FOUR list.
I'll be sketching out a list for today right after breakfast . Coffee... βββ...

Good morning all. I slept very well last night and this morning the temperature was 52. It's supposed to be warmer today than it was yesterday...that's the last I read. Today we will hit Hannaford's later in the day. Seems that it's less crowded then. MJ prayers continue. Praying for good closure on phase 4 and an easier phase 5. LOL Cathy keep on trucking and tracking Happy that DS home was not damaged. I do know what you mean re: voting. I go regardless......to to voice my opinion. Bee so happy that Liz is going to be with you for your PET scan. Prayers continue. I'll be thinking of you. Audrey that's wonderful that you are keeping up with the letters. Becky praying that's all it is with Scooter. Allergies are the pits....especially in fur babies. Waving...and will CBL

Cathy, where does your son live. Your walking sounds like a good plan. I am most curious about why I am so exhausted.
MJ, praying for Father Ted. Glad Phase 4 is progressing and Phase 5 sounds like a good plan. I am prepaid also. It is easier to make the decisions before rather than after, IMO.
Ann, glad you had a good night. I'm glad she'll be here also.
Other than waiting for Liz to arrive, I'm not sure what is on my agenda.

Glad Phase 4 is progressing and Phase 5 sounds like a good plan. I am prepaid also. It is easier to make the decisions before rather than after, IMO. As we sort through paper (years and years, and pounds and POUNDS of paper), we are finding things that "speak to" what Russell USED to be. For example, we came across this quote from George Bernard Shaw, complete with thumbtack holes at its corners, from having been on daily view at some point: "This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one, the being a force of nature, instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch, which I've got held up for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

Enjoy the cooking class Audrey. All three recipes sound delicious. I'm sure the letter will be appreciated. Ann - Glad you slept well. I loved Hannaford's but we don't have them here. Becky - Ouch on the sting! Good luck with Scooter Good luck with your PET scan Bee. Glad Liz will be with you. Cathy - Glad the damage was minimal but it's still scary. We usually start gearing up at Easter and go into full swing by the end of June. This year we only started in June and half couldn't even open until July. MJ - Prayers for Fr. Ted. Russ sure sounds different back in the day. I trimmed mine and my neighbor's hedges last night. She doesn't have a trimmer and as a single mom can't really afford a tool that's only used a couple of times a year. She will do an extra mowing of our shared front yard as a thank you. We normally alternate it. Attended a lively VM last night. Good crowd although I miss my regular group. My favorites I keep up with on FB.
