Thanks for the start June.
Bee praying PET scan goes well.
I shall PTMH and social distance with 2 of our neighbors. These 2 are not as reliable, so time will tell.
Sweet dreams.

TGIF. I will PMTH hoping the Wednesday pasta .6 is gone. Yesterday was a good day. Today I have my Zoom cooking class at 10 and am looking forward to it. I need to pick up a few cans of soft dog food if Lily Belle needs 1/2 Benadryl during the weekend. I havenโt given her any since the day after her vet visit. Her itching isnโt too bad so I hope it will disappear. Weather will be 85 today so nice for walking. Bee, I pray all goes well with the PET Scan. Happy Friday to all.
244, 756 acres burned. Winds may be a problem this weekend.Diane and Rayโs home is safe but a lot of structures have burned. No deaths!

Today I will: Track every BLT on iTB, hydrate, walk 40 or more minutes, stay positive
Heard from our daughter-in-law. They stayed overnight in a hotel since there was no electricity at home and no internet. She was grateful that their services were back in under 24 hours and they did not lose gas or water service at all. They have work to do in the garden but that is easy enough to handle.
My sister, potentially facing the loss of her husband soon, had friends over for dinner and those friends talked about THEIR husbands and how one was lost to cancer and what it was like and the other talked about the loss of her husband due to what sounds like growing apart or being unwilling to work things out. My sister was down after their visit. She was giving them the benefit of the doubt trying to say they were being "helpful" by sharing. I told her they were being inconsiderate and selfish. They have always had her to "listen" but now she needs others to listen and let her process and perhaps be there to lighten the load...not make it heavier. Anyway...might ask her if she can think of a project, besides weight loss and checking in on that daily, that we can work on together...something happy making. If going to the post office was easier I might consider sending her a snail mail letter or hand painted postcard every week...hmm...
Yesterday I pureed some grated cooked zucchini and mixed in tomato sauce with oregano, basil and chopped garlic and had it over whole wheat spaghetti...it was good. I have leftovers of that for lunch and am defrosting white beans to add as protein today. I am actually looking forward to it...the sauce wasn't fantastic but with the beans I think it may be even better than it was yesterday.
I finished the book that took longer than usual to read and will write that review then see what is up next. I may go out of order to pick up a book I am EAGER to read just to give myself a break.
MJ: Father Ted has done well if his diagnosis was in February. I have a feeling if the prognosis is not good for my BIL he will choose the same. The average is 3.5 months from diagnosis to death so...he has beaten the odds. I can see why having phase five paid for makes sense. I admire you for keeping everything in order. What didyou do before you retired? You are so well organized! Great quote by George Bernard Shaw...what a way to live!
ANN: To vote overseas you have to register somewhere in the USA. I used to register where my sister was in California then she moved too Oregon so I registered at my brother's house in southern CA and he just recently moved. I have an investment in California and had the address down as my brother's so when he moved changed teh address to my daughter's in Missouri as I thought her most likely to stay where she is. I don't have a house in the USA and have no idea if I will ever return to the US. I have voted when in Saudi when we had properrty in VA and a few times since but find myself frustrated with it all and as I only vote for the presidential elections...for some reason...stopped bothering. I know people that vote to show how they feel making their vote not count because they vote GREEN or something else when their vote really only counts fi they vote Republican or Democrat. I am also sort of fed up with politicians and politics and wish there was someone else to vote for...someone unheard of that pops up like a new plant from a seed left accidentally in the ground. Ah well...
BEE: My son works in Daphne, AL and lives in a nearby town. My daughter works at Mizzou University in Columbia, MO and lives on 80 acres about 20 minutes drive from the university. I hope the doctors can tell you why you are so tired. I have an some ideas and imagine you do, too, but having the professionals in charge of your care tell you for sure will help. Do take in a list of questions you would like answers to so you don't forget while in the office next time.
SUSI: My husband has been fretting and worrying and stewing about our granddaughters and DIL due to Hurricane Sally and wants to call and send messages and support them (from around the world?) and I keep thinking it wasn't a war or death sentence (though I suppose it is a bit like warring with nature and might kill some) but don't think that my DIL and granddaughters will be scarred for life...maybe I am wrong? They are fine...perhaps I knew in my soul they would be? It was a shorter year of being open on the boardwalk for you this year. Hopefully next year will be more normal...though it sounds like it may not be. Your comment bout football made me think of my daughter's school and how the football team, with covi-19 positive players, have to play or lose funding from the government. They practice and have games scheduled with other college teams with players that are positive for covid-19, too. It doesn't seem ethical to me. I can see why you would not watch football of any kind at this point in time. I would like to support the players but...they are not "essential" in the same way that frontline medical and service employees are...ah well...
JUNE: How many years have you taught? It sounds like you know students well and how to get them to do well and get their work in on time...as well as work in ways for them to improve their grades if they are willing to make the effort.
AUDREY: Your soul food lunch sounds tasty! How do you figure out points for what you eat when you have take away? I saw something about the old redwood forests being burned down...is that true?
BECKY: Glad your wasp sting is better. What do you do for Scooter's allergies? Is there anything you can/do give her? I wonder if at our age being out of alignment is better than trying to fix it since our bodies have adjusted to the difference. My dad had a higher blood pressure than the doctors wanted when he was diagnosed with cancer, they "fixed it" and he fell a couple of times getting out of bed due to LOW BP and then...it hurt so badly he never got out of bed again. So...maybe living with the 1/4" difference would be easier?
LADONNA: I bet you are BUSY and EAGER to get away after such a crazy week! I hope you can relax and enjoy the time and not have to think about your work duties at all! Nachos sound tasty to me!
PAM: How lovely to be able to spend time with family!

Good morning
Up early. So using tsome of the extra time for a quick chat.
Bee Sending prayers and positive energy as you undergo the PET scan and await the results.
Becky Hope that your shopping trip is an easy one. Last week I actually found rubbing alcohol in Sam"s Club. Have not seen it in the store since early March.
Susi Do you have plans for the weekend? How is your niece & the lil guy?
Pam Glad that you had a lovely visit w/ your family.
LaDonna Ugh. . . Shame that everyone pushed up theirs rewuests b/c you will be on vacation next week. Although it's probably less work to do it yourself in advance than to fix a mess someone else made.
Mj Good to have entered the later phases of your big summer project. Have you two decided on how to celebrate?
Ann Glad that you have a visit planned. Hope that your neighbors do not cancel.
Audrey It's hard to imagine that much devastation. Glad that your friend's home is safe for now.
Cathy Oh my. . . Such sad news for your sister and her husband. Glad he was able to see his daughter wed. Maybe you two could put together a video memory book? Maybe a daily or weekly entry? Focus on that she has you andyiu have her. You could write a snail letter then read it. Share a picture then talk about it. It could be that your DS's loss triggered a fresh bout of grief w/ her friends. It's hard to say. Maybe having friends who know that loss will help. Ha ha ha. . . I would say I am a newbie at teaching online.

Checking in to be accountable. Seems the TB found the hiking boots again. Oh, well, life goes on. I'll blame it on the sleeve of saltines I had as a treat after the doctor's visit. LOL
Be back later.

Good morning all. Another great night of sleeping. I feel blessed. LOL Bee to the hiking boots being back in place. Saltines will do it...being another 'cracker lover' I'm sure you enjoyed. Prayers continue as you go for your PET scan. June happy you have those 'sweet talkin' jeans' Enjoy your visit with DM and happy cruising. Time will tell if they cancel out. I'm not holding my breath for a social tonight. If it happens, it happens. We've only gotten together once with these neighbors since COVID reared its ugly head. Cathy great goals for today. My heart truly goes out to your sister. I feel the same way that you do. Sometimes people for whatever reason are not willing to 'give back' what they received. I see that from what you said regarding your sister and her 'friends' Keeping her and her DH in my prayers. I like the idea of voting for a new seed or a new pizza topping Audrey enjoy your zoom cooking class. That's a LOT of acres. Glad there are no deaths. A .6 gain from pasta isn't bad. Hopefully it will leave you soon. I'll join you in PTMH. Enjoy your walk. Becky hope both shopping trips go well. Waving and will CBL

Good morning, June - Bee - Ann - Becky - Audrey - Cathy - LaDonna - Susi - Pam - and AWF!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and a few extra for all the students headed back to their classrooms... whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...
๐๐ต๐๐ต๐๐ต๐๐ต๐
It's 60* at 6:40 AM and the forecast is for cloudy all day and just-touching-70* later.
Yesterday I decided that I couldn't stand the back of my hair any more so I tried calling the barber shop to make an appointment. The phone rang busy for about a half-hour. So I drove over and they found that their second wireless phone was "line in use" somewhere in the shop (they finally found it and then calls started coming in). Meanwhile, I got all trimmed up and I'm good for the next 8 weeks or so.
When I got home I pushed papers around for a while and then dragged <ahem> Toots over to Charlie Brown's Fresh Grill for Sunday Steak Dinner (AKA prime rib on Thursday). We hadn't been there since March 13th; we don't feel that steak travels well for take-out and Toots is just not a fan of patio/outdoor dining. So we sat in the bar area adjacent to the patio, which had the door open for added ventilation (and we were the only indoor customers until just at the end of our meal). I've made prime rib a couple of times in the last months, but there's nothing like getting two very different done-nesses, done perfectly.
We had a quiet afternoon with naps and then more paper-pushing. Then NASCAR Gander trucks was on, followed by ARCA - and the same 17-year-old driver won BOTH races <!!!>.
Today? More paper-pushing. There's what seems to be a never-ending array of accounts for Russ - insurances, annuities, dividends, pensions - and no guide whatsoever. But I won't spend the whole day on it.
Coffee... โโโ... time to rev up...
๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป

My whole long detailed post is gone. Happy jeans June. Enjoy your visit with mom. Bee - Good luck on the test Ann - Enjoy the coffee Becky - Happy shopping Audrey - Enjoy your cooking class Becky/Audrey - Benadryl worked very well for Charlie Cathy - Prayers for your sister. I'm sure her friends were well meaning but that doesn't make her feel better. I have some eggplant almost ready to pick for some baba ghanouj and "fried" eggplant. MJ - Glad you finally got back to Charlie Brown's. Sadly, our Toms River one will not be reopening but the Lakewood one isn't too far out of the way. Hopefully you will be able to streamline all the financial paperwork. I'm in, planned and tracked. Mowed the far back last night. Also started draining the pool. Caroline's mom passed at 6 p.m. last night. Still waiting to hear from Rita about her mom. Not much planned this weekend except yard work, vacuuming, mani tomorrow morning, shopping, errands and some down time. Might bring Cheryl over for a few hours tomorrow afternoon. I'll also be taking care of Frankie for dinner and walk as Carol is out with friends.

Susi so sorry to hear about the passing of Caroline's mom. Keeping all involved in my prayers. Hope you hear something from Rita soon. Nice of you to take care of Frankie for Carol and enjoy our visit with Cheryl. After all the yard work and pool draining, I'm sure you'll really enjoy the manicure tomorrow morning. Which reminds me, I need to reach out to Gladys for a manicure. I've decided to split up the manicure and pedicure as I just can't 'do' the mask for that long a period of time. Not too bad, as she is just down the street from me. Coffee tasted extra good this morning Waving............
