Good morning friends. Another great night sleeping. Weather yesterday was a tad warmer but doable. I enjoyed my walks and happy that the shopping is all done.
Today will be a laid back day. Nothing pressing on the agenda. I'll amuse myself a little with chores and make a few phone calls. We are supposed to 'social distance' with 2 neighbors. I'll not hold my breath as they have the reputation of cancelling at the last moment. I'm ready if it happens and won't be upset if it doesn't. We've only seen them once since COVID reared its ugly head.
Pam sorry that you day got off course. Nice that DBIL will be spending time at the camper. I hope today will return you to your normal schedule.

.....The 'social distancing' has been called off. No surprise there LOL. At least the call came in early I am planned and tracked...going to do some futzing around and then sit and read. Will pop back into the Cafe later to see what y'all are up to!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I actually woke up knowing what day it is! I have had my yogurt & berries w/F1 for breakfast and have been catching up on some computer work. But I am seriously thinking of going out for a walk. It is only mid-50's now and doesn't promise to get much warmer..... maybe a bit by late afternoon??
Ann ~ We woke to temps in the 40's this morning! I had the windows all closed up tight, and still needed the quilt on top of our summer blanket. Still, this beats being HOT!! So sorry your SD friends cancelled (again?). Some people are just like that, and we come to expect it, don't we?
Pam ~ Glad you have someone to check on the Camp for you during this stressful time. Good job on getting your car servicing done. Fortunately, our dealership does it by appointment only so I wasn't there very long at all back when I went. DH's truck, OTOH, was first come, first serve and he was there when they opened at 8 a.m. and we got the truck back at the end of the day anyway. I'm just glad he didn't have to sit and wait for it.
DH laid a beautiful fire last evening and we sat outdoors and roasted marshmallows and made S'Mores, which we enjoyed very much! We were like two little kids with our sticky fingers, and chocolate mess. Yes, Ann, I made one for you and it was very, very good! :-)
I am undecided what to do about supper today. I have ingredients for several different dishes and am leaning towards a pork fried rice, but I need to get the pork out of the freezer. Don't know why the indecision, but there it is.
I found out that I cannot access my school email. Our program requires periodic password changes (no idea WhY?) but mine has been a year and now it won't open. It has to be changed on a school computer, and I don't have access to any of the buildings, so I am not sure what I'm going to do.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue that is great that your temps are holding steady at a more manageable feel. We just came back from a hood walk. It's cloudy/smoky due to the fires in CA but doable as we don't smell the smoke. I was very comfy sleeping under the afghan last night. Love that feeling of being all 'tucked in' This morning I had oatmeal with applesauce (not a fan of milk) and a few walnuts thrown in. It was awesome. I also sprinkle cinnamon and splenda blend on top. My soup is heating and I'll have a half chicken sandwich from last night and Carl will polish off the rest with some chips. Win win. Tonight we will have the chicken that we were going to have last night. Not sure if we'll just put it in the George Foreman oven or if Carl wants to put it on the grille....either way tasty and delish. I wasn't able to find the fingerling potatoes so I picked up a good size potato and will bake that and split that. Veggies will be pickled beats that I have chilling in the fridge. Just a thought...I go through being indecisive whenever my supper plans change too many times in one week. I'm sure whatever you decide on will be tasty and perfect. Thanks for the S'Mores Glad you enjoyed the fire pit. So sorry that you can't access your school email. I'm sure you are not the only one. Perhaps you could reach out to someone and let them know the problem you are having. I strongly believe in there being power in numbers. More than likely an oversight on their part. I hope it gets resolved. Soup is heated and I'm off to eat lunch. Will CBL

Well, I did make a decision. We are having homemade pork fried rice. I differentiated on that because I also buy Rice-A-Roni Stir Fried Rice for a quick supper. I have made both, and personally I think the "homemade" is much better!! So I thawed out some leftover pork loin and gathered all the ingredients. I found I had not put my recipe in WW, so I did that. It is pointy (when made with pork, not so much when made with chicken). But I told DH and he was happy and I am pleased. So no more indecision. We were deciding whether to have pizza or not - but settled on pizza and salad tomorrow night. He is working down in the city today and will have a longer drive home, so I'll take care of supper. If we have pizza, he makes the (fabulous) salad and picks up the pizza. Tonight he won't have to help at all.
We have an unusually cold day. I had to put on the fireplace this morning while I had my coffee. We now have a frost warning for tonight. No worries - but I am seriously considering putting the electric blanket on the bed for tonight. It is going back up in the 70's next week, so it might be too early?? I'll wait until DH gets home and let him weigh in on that.
I will get out for a walk when the news is over. Then I'll come back and find some more little chores to do?? I may take my white capris and crops downstairs and put them in their bin.

Ann ~ You raise a very good point. When plans change too much, it tends to increase my indecisiveness. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for pointing it out. I am usually very much a creature of habit and this pandemic has really messed with that and I've had to keep a tight rein on myself to adjust to it.
But dinner is decided on and all the ingredients are on hand. The white capris and crops are packed away. The electric blanket is on the bed and the summer blanket is packed away. The electric blanket is not nearly as warm as the heated mattress pad, which I will put on when it gets really cold. But for now, we have not yet turned our furnace on and don't plan to any time soon so it will be nice to crawl into a warm bed. When I went back and read my last post, I saw that I was in the same indecisive frame of mind about the blanket? Thanks for helping me out with that!!
I have had a good 45 minute walk and feel great!! Now I think I will grab some reading time.

I so struggle with things that don't go the way I am accustomed to having them go. That to me is the definition of a 'creature of habit' When things go south...it's very hard for me to adapt and reel myself in. I tend to wander off somewhere.....Carl has a better perspective on that sort of thing and is more able to 'roll with the punches'. I've always been a planner which I think is why I don't mind keeping a written food journal. We help one another out, Sue. Yeah to getting in that good 45 minute walk. I will go out again...just not ow as Mr. Sunshine has grace us with his presence LOL. I love walking with my 'head in the clouds'

This too shall pass. My theme for today! I started the day with a walk with Debbie in nice, cool air and a breeze. I hardly sweat at all! I ate breakfast of a mixed bowl of fruit DH had prepared and left in the fridge for me, with yogurt and seeds. We packed lunches--mine was chef salad, mandarin orange and key lime yogurt--to eat after DH's wound care appt. Then I quickly showered, did my hair and we headed off. The NP saw DH again and again had to debride some dead tissue. He didn't say much, nor did the nurses, other than to ask when he would see the surgeon again. I interpret that to mean they feel the metatarsal bones, which are still very prominent, will have to be amputated. The thought of more cutting and more hospital time left me very depressed. The wound was basically the same size as last week. He did not put the wound vac back on and we were told to return it to the rental company. He said to continue with the prescription ointment "and a prayer", another sign that things aren't going as well as we had hoped. They decided he could do hyperbaric right after the wound care appt., so I headed to the nearby park. I read the bible readings for today, did some praying and ate my chef salad and fruit. I was full after that, so didn't eat the yogurt. On the way to the wound care appt., my low tire pressure light came on. I couldn't detect a noticeable problem, but decided to go back to the mechanic shop. I dropped DH off at home and drove back to town. They found a nail in the tire, but said it would be a couple of hours until they could get to it. They put some air in the tire and told me to come back later and they would squeeze me in. I went to Walmart and picked up our grocery order, stopped for gas, came home and put away groceries, and headed right back to town. I waited about 1 1/2 hours, but they got it repaired and I was very grateful not to have to go back to town tomorrow to take care of it. I think DH is feeling guilty for all I am having to do, but I reassured him our #1 priority right now is keeping him off his foot as much as possible and trying to get it healed. It is hard for him as he has been mostly chair-bound since the end of July. I acted as sous chef and prepped everything and then allowed DH to cook a stir-fry with a couple of chicken tenders and lots of veggies. We ate it over brown rice, so it was point-friendly, filling and delicious. Afterwards, we watched Legal Action on Prime, and both enjoyed it. DH has gone to bed and I will read a bit before turning in. I lost .7 at WI today. That puts me at -4.9 lost since the first of August. It's coming off slowly, but it's coming off. My yoga classes are starting again Monday, limited to 10 people in the class. Unfortunately, I will not be one of them as I just don't feel comfortable being in a room with that many heavy-breathing people, but it makes me so sad. Temps are supposed to be about 67 when we walk at 7:00 am. I am so excited to see a bit of fall arriving! Normally, we are visiting in MI and NE this time of year and enjoying the changing leaves. One day, we will get to see them again! For now, I will try to be content. The pecans are starting to fall, so that will be another major job for me. I also need to finish cleaning weeds in the garden and plant squash, cabbage, beets, carrots and mustard greens. There just aren't enough hours in the day! Ann - I am trying hard to emulate Carl and "roll with the punches", but it is hard to do it and keep my cool. Sorry your get together didn't work out. Maybe next time? Sue - I am ready for car issues to settle down for a while, too. Homemade always tastes better than boxed, IMHO. I hope you can get your email issues straightened out. Judy - I hope you are at the cape, listening to the sounds of the sea and relaxing. Sleep well and sweet dreams!
