RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Whether you agree with her politics or not it is impossible not to admire her strength and tenacity when she was so extremely ill as well as her life story facing discrimination and her championship of women and womenβs rights.
Today I will PMTH. Weβre putting off looking at fireplace inserts because the gardeners are coming at noon to do the pruning. After breakfast we will go to the Market to pick up groceries. Dinners are fairly simple this week. Beginning with tonight the entrees are steak, halibut, remaining Costco stuffed peppers, caldo verde, mahi mahi, turkey burgers and brined pork chops. Iβm making Halloween gift bags for Noraβs class. I actually went to Dollar General today and I may even go to Walmart next week. Best prices. Our weather should continue to be good. Have a good weekend.

Ended my work day a bit early then had an appt with my cardiologist. When I get back from vacation I will be wearing a heart monitor for a month. I've had a few issues the past couple weeks with light headedness and some palpitations which may be normal but he wants to rule out afib since Ive had past issues and we need to know if its an issue now. Hopefully its just my body still healing and adjusting but I'm glad to be checked. Better safe than sorry. Saturday will be filled with chores but some relaxing, too. Internet is spotty on the island so I will check in when I can. Audrey, amazing stats on the fires! I sure hope its over soon. Glad air quality is some better. We have Lucy so spoiled, I always have to mix some human food with her dry dog food to get her to eat. She expects it LOL Cathy, can't imaging how your sister feels. at least she has you to talk to and be supportive for her. Not thinking about work is th plan! June, LOL on the jeans sweet talking you...love it! How is your dear Mom? Did all go ok with the covid cases at her AL? Sorry if I missed an update. Bee, I am holding steady within a few pounds up and down but really need to get off a few pounds to be back in my really comfy zone. Glad the procedure is over. Keep us posted HUGS and prayers My mom loves Joey and Rory. She's talked about them a lot but I've never seen their story. Glad yall enjoyed. MJ, the steak date night with Toots sounds perfect and well deserved! Susi, so sorry about Caroline's mom HUGS I have had my posts dissappear like that before and it is so aggravating. Enjoy your weekend. Ann, Well darn. Sorry your SD get together got cancelled. Maybe it was for the best. You never know about these things. Seems like coffee is especially good this time of year when the weather starts to cool a bit Becky, Happy anniversary and congrats on the new air fryer. I like mine. I use it in spells. Mine and Randy's Anniversary is Thursday. 32 years for us. Your furkids sound like a hoot. Pam, waving and wishing you a great day.

Ann, the store shelves are pretty full now. They had lots of packages of disinfectant wipes made in China. I bought one for the car and hope theyβre safe π€£ LaDonna, I am so glad your cardiologist is being so cautious. Becky, we have a ridiculous eating ritual with Lily Belle. She prefers to be hand fed human food and even then she may not eat it .She needs to meet Robβs dog Roxy who is the canine garbage can.She is an English cocker spaniel and has always cleaned any scrap off the floor just like a Roomba vacuum.
Did I mention my cooking class was so good I signed up for three others.I told the man in charge of the program I like it so much better than driving to Whole Foods or Fresno state and trying to fight for a parking spot.He thinks the school may be doing virtual learning well into the fall semester of next year because of the number of vaccines so would have to be available for everyone to be safe.Taking these classes from home is fine with me because I can even multitask while Iβm listening. I totally forgot that dinner is take out from Fresnoβs Greek Fest.

I can do what I have been doing. The scale is slow like a turtle but still moving in the right direction.
I just cleaned out the fridge by making a soup...hope it tastes good. I chopped an onion, peeled a small potato and added it to the onions after chopping it, added in the zoodles I chopped up a bit, chopped the cabbage left from last time, added in the zucchini-tomato puree, added some tomato paste, added the tiny bit of mjudra and put in a can of corn. I still might add some white beans later to my bowl or not...or have it on the leftover pasta with some beans. Time will tell. The only question is how to count the points for it. I might consider it all CORE and just do a core day? We will see.
I am sad to see that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is gone. She put up a long hard fight to stay on the bench as long as she did. It can't be easy having fought cancer more than once and also to have fought for what she believed in.
AUDREY: I hope the rain comes, the fires are contained and the skies are clear again...soon. I love your letter writing and the people you choose to write to will so enjoy receiving your missives! So glad you enjoyed the online cooking class. What are your next ones going to cover?
LADONNA: I can see why it would be good to wear a monitor to rule out anything causing the palpitations. Glad it can wait till after your vacation! Can't imagine wearing a monitor on vacation
JUNE: Have fun visiting with your mom through the window this weekend! My sister will be fine once she knows the facts and she and her husband have a chance to make a plan. She is woman who loves routine and to know the direction she is heading...change is not easy for her and this past year has been stressful with major surgeries for her husband and now this new development. My BIL has an appointment on Monday so I wait to hear her news when they have it.
BEE: Glad the test went well and you had an interesting person to talk to through it. I hope you warmed up! I have never heard of the movie you watched.
ANN: Thrilled you slept well and woke refreshed.
MJ: How nice to go out for a meal. I can hear the joy in having the meal prepared to perfection for both of you. I would LOVE a haircut but am still leery of going to a shop. The case numbers are increasing here every day rather than decreasing so...will keep trimming my own and hope for the best.
SUSI: I hate when long posts poof into nothingness! When you drain the pool where does the water go? Do you water the garden or? I don't think we have eggplant in the garden but am looking forward to it if/when we do or when we buy some at the market.
BECKY: Sounds like your dog is as spoiled as our cat. Except, she now WANTS dry food but only Friskies and I haven't found any! Dad was six foot tall and weighed probably 250 pounds...falling was painful and twice after his diagnosis with cancer was enough. SO, he just didn't get up and was care for in bed most of that six months he lived beyond the diagnosis. I am sure they lowered his BP too much to read "right" while lying down and his body just wasn't used to having that BP so didn't do well with the change in medication. I still miss him.
PAM: waving from afar.

Good morning, Audrey - Ann - LaDonna - Becky - Cathy - Bee - June - Susi - Pam - and AWF!
Prayers continue for you and your loved ones, and thank you for your prayers for me and mine...
Extra prayers for any in the path of fire and storm(s)... and a few extra for all the students headed back to their classrooms... whether IRL, virtual, or hybrid...

It's in the 40*s at 6:30 AM and the forecast is for sunny and low 60*s later. Perfect weather for tree-cutting at The Plantation, and that's where we're headed. Through a serendipitous turn of events, my morning cleared out and DaBoyz are not arriving until about 7 PM, so we can put in a good day's work with Son#2.
All three of DaBoyz are bunking with us tonight. Then the Kressling has a YM color guard event tomorrow (1:30 PM muster, 2 PM ceremony). It's going to be a good-busy weekend!
Yesterday was another paper-pushing day, mostly for Russ. I have one more folder of preliminarily-sorted financial stuff to identify and then his basic file box is DONE. All his bills are paid for the month. Next week I can start digging into the Long Term Care situation. We haven't even touched the file cabinet <meh>.
I was on-call yesterday (yes, I offered) to pick up the Gertrude Hawk candy order from the YM commander's house and then number the boxes to bring to the coordinator at (optional) PT this morning, to get a jump on distribution. Delivery window was 9 AM - 5 PM but by 7 PM it hadn't arrived; text from the commander says "Monday". Since the Kressling has an unexpected family event with his mom, brothers, aunt, and cousins this morning, I don't have to take him to PT. Hence my availability for a day of manual labor ππ€£π
Coffee... βββ... time to find my work boots...
π»ππππ»ππππ»ππππ»ππππ» Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! π»ππππ»ππππ»ππππ»ππππ»

Good morning
Audrey Thanks for the start. RBG was an admirable person. May she Rest In Peace.
Wondeful that you can enjoy more cooking classes. A win- win !
Ann Sorry to hear that your Sat. SD plans fell through. Hope that you find something else to do.
Bee Good that you had someone to guide you through the PET procedure. Sending you more prayers and hugs.
Bec Sending Early happy anniversary wishes! I know lots of people who love their air fryers!
Cathy Glad that you meal hit the spot! Today's option seem full of flavor. Yes, I remember that your BIL had 2 back surgeries last year. I thought of that when zi read your post. Spoke w/ my former Chair yesterday. He has had more experience teaching on line. Was good to hear that his thoughts coincided with mine regarding online teaching decisions. LaDonna Ha ha ha. . . Lucy is a scamp! Enjoy your beac vacation. Am glad that your cardiologist is being proactive. Always good to get a clear understanding of what is happening. Will visit mom today or Sunday.π
Mj Loved reading about your prime rib date! So nice for you!
Susi Good point about focusing on the good points of a neighbor & letting the rest stay unspoken. Glad that your pool lasted through the summer.
Pam Will be driving the blue lane with you. Hope today is a good day for you.

Mj It will be fun to have all those boys in the house! Ha ha ha. . . I would probably have to do a quality check while organizing the candy orders!
Saturday's goals Go for a longer walk in the morning to set the world right. Roastyellow squash, butternut squash, onions, and carrots. Sit around the camp fire with Richard. But it will have to be a big fire.
Had to bundle up last night for a longer walk. Was happy that I did because walking is a good mood adjuster.
I really, really, really need to do closet dive & go shopping. I may only have that one pair of sweet talking jeans
Have a happy Saturday!.

Good morning all. Woke up to a temperature of 34! When I walk today, I shall have to 'dig out' a light jacket. Notta problem at all LaDonna praying that all goes well when you see your cardiologist. It's best to rule out before taking steps. You have a wise doctor. Enjoy your time away and look forward to hearing all about it. Becky, praying those extra steps don't catch up to you. Cathy at times the scale just seems to creep...just remember slow and steady wins the race At times, I make my soup that way. I'm sure it will be tasty. MJ enjoy your tree cutting and busy weekend with DaBoyz. June enjoy your shopping and closet diving. I have lots of my real summery stuff already packed away and little by little I'm pulling out some of the warmer attire. I really need to shop.....but still putting that off. Enjoy your walk and fire. Audrey so happy that you enjoyed your cooking class. Nice you signed up for more of them. Sounds fun. LOL to the wipes from China. I saw several masks and hand sanitizers made there and left them there. I may be tempted to pick up the 'wipes'.......certain things just go against my grain and that is one of them! Waving....and will CBL.

Ann Yikes! I do not know what our tempt. Is. But R reported there is frost on grass. He is worried about his 2 tomato plants.
I had to throw on a jacket & pull sweat pants over my thin leggings to walk last night. But I wanted to walk long enough to enjoy myself. And I did.
I am leery of no name brand sanitizers since the FDA found lots were toxic. I think that I have one DG canister of wipes.

She sure was an interesting Lady, Audrey, and a strong one. I do not know her life story, will check that out. I have some left over turnip greens and some taters, so will make a 'fake' caldo verde. Sounds like my type of soup.
LaDonna, always good to check. Hope you have a good vaca.
Becky, hope you get more steps in today. Glad you are enjoying your elliptical.
Cathy, that is a clean the fridge soup and sounds delicious. Hope it is.
MJ, hope it's a good day. Glad all of his bills are paid.
Your time with R around a BIG fire sounds really good. I miss being able to do that. Smoke is a no-no with the eye.
Ann, we are at 70ΒΊ, unheard of this time of the year, rain from TS Beta will be here all day. Making some soup.
All is well here. I am rested, AWARE, WILLING and ABLE!
Thanks for all the prayers.
