Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Joyce, hope you have a good day at work. How are the sales for this month?
Ruth, nice that you can give the extra girls clothes to someone who really needs them. I’m sure she will be excited to get everything. We are lucky in our town because the town will pick up 2 items each week besides the regular weekly pick up. We have to call and let them know there are items to be picked up and people put out furniture/mattresses etc. They do charge $10.00 to pick up appliances but at our vegetation dump there is an area to drop off appliances, scrap metal and electronic equipment. Fortunately it is only 5 minutes from our house so when it is time to get rid of any of those things we can just drive over and drop the item off. They are only open on weekends and it is usually a busy place.
Martha, I’m sure your area needs rain about as bad as we do. We are down almost 12 inches for the year and I’m afraid it won’t be a pretty fall because the leaves will just die and then fall off the trees if we don’t get rain soon. I pay most of our bills on line, it took me a long time to feel comfortable to do it. My DS#2 helped me get going on the on-line bill paying, he was in college at the time and that is the only way he paid bills.
Yesterday Bill and I got the bush out. It took us almost 2 hours, with a lot of rest times. We started with a small, about 18 inch high plant and I didn’t realize that the plant travelled. There were 4 separate root balls that we had to dig up. Tomorrow we will take all of the stuff to the vegetation dump. Bill is helping DS#2 today with a project. As I mentioned the area is only 5 minutes from the house so we should be able to finish the project fairly quickly. I think I figured out why the people next door have a 30 yard dumpster on their driveway. There was a company that put some kind of trim on the area where the foundation ended and the siding began this week. They were a wildlife extraction company (never heard of anything like that). Bill was talking to our friend on the other side of the neighbors and he said that their basement is overrun with mice and the mice were coming in between the foundation and the siding. The mice made nests in some of the furniture and chewed holes in some of the other furniture – UCK!!!!!!. They have to get rid of all of that furniture. When the basement is cleaned out they will be putting the house on the market.

Good afternoon all. Joy, hope you have a good day at work. Hope it’s busy and keeps your mind occupied!
Dottie, OMG!!! I’d be living in mortal fear of those mice migrating into my basement!!! YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!! When people say mice are more scared of you than you are of them, NOPE!! Never!!! They terrify me!!! I grew up in a farm house that was multiple buildings that had been hauled in and put together to make a house; and it was not well insulated nor did it keep that kind of wildlife out! I HATED it with a passion!!! Because it was full of mice in the winter. When we moved into this brand new house; I told the builder if I saw a mouse he was gonna be back here with his caulking gun and would be finding the hole!!! And I made DH do some extra caulking in the garage when the firewall joined The foundation! I can’t even watch movies that have pretend mice in them!!! And I figure at almost 72 it’s not gonna change now!!!
It’s a beautiful day here so far. I got an hour of quiet and coffee before Stan got up, got Maggie up, and then we got Mara up. Will get her outside for a while before nap time. Need to make a short list and hit the grocery store while she’s in bed for naptime! Out of fruit she likes (that’s virtually all fruits).
I hope the clothes I passed on were ok. They are in good shape (I pulled out any I thought weren’t good) and even if they are just play clothes for her, saves her $$. I told her I had a couple pairs of the next size but the toes were scraped up and she said she’d like them for play because they outgrow shoes so fast! Done! And DD said she has more in this size that runs larger and Sawyer is “just about” out of; so I’ll pass those on also.
So sad to hear about Ruth Bader Ginsburg! She was a pioneer for women’s rights and civil rights and gender equality and lots of other good things. Hope they replace her with someone as good.
Getting some progress made on the hat I’m knitting for DS Carol. Hoping she gets continued good news on Tuesday. This cancer is really wearing her down. She naps for hours most days; she’s lost so much weight; the chemo & radiation has ruined all her teeth and she’s going to have health issues from that very soon; she’s broken an elbow and a shoulder and they have neither one healed very well due to the cancer; and she’s just mentally and physically drained. Her youngest DGD has apparently been exposed to covid because she’s under 14 day quarantine! Praying no one in that family gets near Carol or her DH.
Ok, need to eat a quick lunch so we can get Mara outside. And I’m guessing she needs a diaper change. Thought I heard her grunting a few minutes ago. Would love to have her potty trained but she is not the least bit interested and couldn’t care less if she’s wet or messy!!
have a good day all and I’ll check in later this evening!

Good Afternoon~ Had a good tele-appt with my dr yesterday. She's wanting to increase the meds I have now but space them out so they last most of the day. I'm for it, at least I know the meds are okay.
Did groc shopping this morning. All but 2 things on list were available. It's only been 3 weeks since I have tried buying them. Since we are working on emptying deep freeze & making meals with what we have on hand, our grocery bill has gone down, considerably.
Joyce - (((hugs))) Hope the day was busy enough to keep your mind off upcoming medical. (((hugs)))
Dottie - Wow, that was a huge plant. What kind was it? When we moved in to our house, there was a big rhodie plant that I wanted out. DH had to use our truck to pull it out. Whoever built the neighbors house did a bad job if there was space for rodentia to get in. The fact that they had a lot of stuff, didn't help either.
Ruth - Hope your DSis/DBIL don't get exposed or get covid. I'm sure she is very appreciative of the clothes/shoes. They grow out of them so quickly. Just heard about RBG passing. Very sorry to hear it.
Have mixed veggie stew in crockpot for dinner tonight. I'll make some biscuits to go with.

Ugh! I just lost my post. That hasn’t happened in a long time.
Dottie - all I can say is EEEK! about the mice. I would probably think every noise in my house was caused by a mouse scurrying by.
Ruth - sending prayers for Carol. She is such a strong woman. We had a beautiful day in Buffalo. Sun was shining, only mid 60s, gentle breeze. DB and DSIL went for a drive in the country to enjoy the day.
Martha - glad you had a good tele-doc visit. Hope the increase in meds is beneficial. The veggie stew sounds good.
I had a better nights sleep last night, and I’m eating better. I didn’t go grocery shopping yesterday, but I went after work. Tomorrow I’ll have vegetarian chili and vegetarian chili mac cooking in the crockpot.
Work went by quickly today. I really enjoy working with Allie. She’s only 19, but we get along well. Today was her Labradoodles 10th birthday. She has party hats, and presents and is probably celebrating with her family and pup tonight. She’s trying to convince me to get a dog. I’d love to, but I have no idea how to train or take care of one. If I did get a puppy it would be a Yorkie. I think they are adorable. I can dream ...
Just relaxing tonight, cooking tomorrow. See ya later.

Joyce, glad to hear that work went by quickly. It is always nice to work with someone who does their work and that you can also chat with at times. Allie sounds like a fun girl. We think occasionally about getting another pet but it is a lot of work, can be expensive and travel is a problem. I told both of my boys when they mentioned we should have a dog that if they get another dog I will enjoy the grand dog but no not for us.
Ruth, are DS and DIL thinking about starting the potty training for Mara? No sense in you trying to start the training unless they will work with her at home also. My DDIL tried working with my DGD shortly before she turned 3. Her birthday is in Oct. and DDIL tried while she was home from school for the summer. DGD had no interest but once she started back to day care it made a difference. She was already 3 but only by a month when she was trained. DGD still had some problems at night and wore a pull-up. Last year when she came for Thanksgiving I was helping her get ready for bed, I said where is your pull-up. DGD said grandma pull-ups are for little kids, I’m 4 and don’t need it now. My DS and DDIL said one day she said I’m 4 and don’t need a pull-up, they were a little worried but no problems with a wet bed. Kids can be so funny when they decide something.
Martha, hope the change of medication helps you. Sounds like a good tele-med visit with your doctor. We still have empty shelves here, I don’t understand why certain things are missing. It is hard to find diced tomatoes, I look at each store I go to and if they are on the shelf I get them. The plant was a hydrangeas, I didn’t realize that they formed new root balls. We have used our SUV to pull out plants but the hydrangeas doesn’t have real branches, just reed like branches and they kept breaking when we tried to tie them up.
We are heading to the vegetation dump this afternoon. We had wanted to go early but I saw a flyer on our town page about a motorcycle ride in honor of a police officer who was killed during a domestic dispute by the husband. It has been going on for years, for a scholarship for someone who plans on entering law enforcement. Usually it brings out several hundred riders, don’t know with the virus this year. The park they meet at is on the same street as the vegetation dump and we thought it best not to get stuck in the traffic. Another beautiful but cool day here.

Good Sunday morning all. Joy, so happy to hear you are eating and sleeping better. Positive thoughts that all will turn out well. And lots of prayers from here and the other group too. Several have commented on continuing prayers for you!! Allie sounds like a fun person to be around! Makes work so much more enjoyable. How are car sales for this month? When do the 2021 models start showing up? Isn’t it usually in the fall?
Dottie, nice to know about that hydrangea! We had one put in 20 years ago when we built this house. Was in a 5 gallon bucket and it’s in a corner next to the porch, between the house and the sidewalk and the steps off the porch to the sidewalk. The dumb thing would be out over the sidewalk by now if we let it. Stan has cut it back several times, but it’s still so big and overwhelming. And gorgeous when it’s all in bloom, but in the winter looks awful. Now we know what to expect if we try to take it out! And I’m seriously thinking about doing that! Maybe start over with another one. In 20 years it’s doubtful it’ll be our problem!!
Mara’s daddy didn’t care about being trained until he was over 3. He never ever cared if he was wet or messy. And she’s a lot like her daddy. We will coordinate with them. DIL is trying to make some changes at their house to make schedules and all for everyone; so I think working with her on that may be one of them. Our 3 were 1, 2, 3 when they were trained. Older daughter was just over a year. We talked to older DD about some of Mara’s issues, like still having her pacifier; and DD said she just may need some of that security with the tension at her house. Here we only let her have it in bed. And she does just fine w/o it here.
Martha, hope the med adjustments help. Hope you don’t get sent home again for the smoke.
Ok, need to get Mara going and dressed and all. And she’ll want breakfast soon, something more than just milk. Will check in later.

Good afternoon,
Getting ready to watch the Bills game. They are playing in Miami, there will be some fans in the stadium.
Went to early mass this morning. I called the rectory during the week to see which mass my former pastor would be celebrating thus weekend. After mass I walked up to him, told him I was going to have a procedure soon and asked him to say a prayer for me. Immediately he put his hands on my head and prayed. He is a Charismatic minister and used to celebrate healing masses.
We have a few 2021 vehicles, larger trucks. We are still getting shipments of 2020 vehicles that were slowed down because of Covid, they’ll continue probably until the end of the year. Sales are doing good again this month, still ahead of last year.
I used to have hydrangeas in front of my house. They were absolutely beautiful, but eventually got huge and overwhelmed the small area in front of my house. I have slow growing bushes there now. The first few years I lived here I had a small veggie garden, but back then I couldn’t be bothered to keep it up.
It’s another gorgeous sunny day. I think we’ll be back in the 70s later this week, but no warmer than that.
Time for the game. Bbl

What a crazy Bills game. First there was a power outage at the stadium. Game went on but I had to listen on the radio for a while. Then right after halftime there was a 36 minute lightening delay. Bills won, but it got close at the end.
