Good morning friends. What a cool morning we have on tap. When I woke up and checked it was 34! No complaints from me. I'll just 'dig out' a light weight jacket, don the jeans and be off
Don't know but these days are passing so quickly. I can't wrap my head around people that say they are 'bored'. I'm still waiting for some ME TIME to read a few chapters on my James Patterson novel. Maybe today? ?
Pam prayers continue to be offered up for your DH and YOU as well. I can see where he is feeling guilty for all that you are doing. I'm sure your bible reading and prayer session outdoors while snacking helped you. Such a peaceful way to spend time...talking to God.
Your meals sound very filling and healthy. KOKO and you are doing well in the weight loss department. Slow and steady wins the race.
Time to continue onto my online chores. Will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We woke to very cool temps this morning. In fact, I turned the fireplace on for an hour or so while I enjoyed my coffee. It does take the chill off since we never turn our furnace on this early. Besides, it promises to be in the 70's again this week. The electric blanket was a welcome treat last night. I turned it on a couple of hours before we expected to go to bed and then turned it off when we went to bed. It is warmer than the blanket I took off, so it kept us plenty comfortable all night.
We have had blueberry oatmeal for breakfast with bacon slices. DH woke up asking for bacon for breakfast (a usual Saturday morning treat). It was perfect! My tummy is comfortably full for now and we plan to have pizza and salad this evening, so I will plan my (light) lunch around that.
Pam ~ Good to read your post this morning. I am sorry you had such a trying day. Worries about spouses and cars shouldnāt come in the same day ā¦. It just isnāt fair!! My heart goes out to you. It is hard to be ātoughā all the time āI know! Congrats on the WL. Youāre definitely making headway!! I know you will enjoy the cooler temps. When I got up this morning it was in the low 30ās!! A bit too cool!
Ann ~ I am in agreement with your definition of ācreature of habitā. I do things a certain way and thatās OK until something (outside myself) throws a monkey wrench into my plans. Then I need to take a deep breath and consider how important/unimportant it really is. Yay for getting that last walk in last night. Your temps sound right about like ours. We had a frost advisory for last night. Fortunately I don't have anything to worry about outside.
Judy ~ Hope everything is okay with you. Miss you and look forward to hearing from you.
I think I'll get my house in order and get out for a walk, even if I do have to bundle up.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue yes we are most definitely on the 'same page' LOL. I'm in good company We also had a frost advisory and, like you, nothing to worry about. We took our first walk...I can't believe I was actually up and ready to leave when Carl and LuLa were heading out the door. I put on a light weight jacket and joined them. Then we came home to coffee and just relaxed. I just finished searing a pot roast in the IP. I'll let it cook an hour or so and then get the veggies ready to add. I was just in the mood for it...nice comfort food...and it was on sale. Win win Bathrooms are cleaned and floors are dry mopped. I dusted and will leave the vacuuming for another day. Just not up to doing that right now. Wishing all a wonderful day. Sue yes do bundle up for that walk. I know you'll feel refreshed when you come home. Waving............

Hi Ann ~ I am just back from a long walk. The sun is shining and it is beautiful and *almost* 60 dg! I wore jeans, sweatshirt and polar fleece vest and was perfect.
I started on something this morning, and one thing led to another (as they are likely to do). I went downstairs to get some warm vests (because I have so many) and noticed DH's work shoes were grungy - so I put in a load of his work clothes so I could wash his shoes and they'd have plenty of time to dry. When I took them outside to sit on a table in the sun - I took down the big long window box of petunias and dumped them in the thicket. Then I went on and rearranged the chairs and tables on the patio so my chair would be more up inside the protected area. The other night when it was cooler, I felt the breeze on my back which was facing towards the opening and northward. Once I started, everything just seemed to flow along and now it's all ready. I had told DH this morning how I wanted to rearrange the patio furniture, and he was planning to do it when he got home. Won't he be surprised that it's already done?
Nonetheless, I'm done walking, laundry is started, house is straightened up, and the patio is ready for a fire pit night tonight. I mentioned to my neighbor that I had brought home S'Mores makings. With my chairs rearranged, it really makes a perfect open spot for their two chairs and social distancing. This will work out the very best.
Maybe I'll go finish playing WWF and then pop into my new book. BBL.

Hey all, even though Iāve been AWOL for a few days, I do still try to come in and read all your posts.
Itās been a busy week between work and all the other stuff going on. I am joining in Pamās chorus that this too shall pass. What are year 2020 has been for all of us. On top of Covid, weāve all had so much to deal with and Iām glad we have our little cafĆ© to come to for solace.
Pam, Iām so sorry that you and your DH are going through such a tough time with his diabetes and complications. Iāll send my prayers out to you too that you will not be facing any more surgery. Try to take it one day at a time because thatās the best we can do. It sounds like you stay in good spirits and congratulations on a fantastic weight loss.
iām not sure where to begin on my latest news, but our DD did retain a new attorney so weāre hoping that thatās a step in a new and positive direction. The first attorney dumped 75 emails on her with all the communication since last October and she is trying to cull through all of them to send to the new guy.I told her that I could help her with some of it because itās pretty overwhelming. They were probably over 1000 attachments and all those emails in total. Iāve started helping her see which are relevant and important so she doesnāt waste the other guys time and her own money. There were many duplicate files. But, again this too shall pass!
The saga with the car lady is finally over. We did see the car at the junkyard, she produced the receipt, and DH talk to the owner of the junkyard. Itās a shame she didnāt get a little more life out of that car because I drove it all the time just around town. We told her that it was a good town car, but itās a little old lady and not interested in highway and road trips. When she showed up to collect her money, we asked her what happened. She said she was on the highway and only going about 75! My poor sweet little car. I feel badly for it! But, we wound up refunding her 2/3 of the price so in the end, it was fine for her and for us. Some people donāt understand the meaning of āas isā and I believe we are much better off with her in the rearview mirror. fact I had her sign a document saying that this would conclude all and any further business between the two of us. Bye-bye.
I had a great hour long chat with my brother from Florida the other night. We donāt talk enough and when we do we really enjoy each otherās company. He wanted to talk a lot about my daughter and that situation. He has been a guardian ad Leitem in the Florida court system for 15 years but even he did not have any advice for this mess. He really wants me to take care of myself and I appreciate that.
I havenāt been sleeping great lately and I wake up around 5 AM. I am enjoying reading my Sue Grafton novels all over again and working my way down the alphabet again.
Iām glad that for the most part you are all doing well and enjoying this fall weather. Ann, I agree with you that there are never enough hours in the day and I never understand how people say theyāre bored. Iām still plucking away on the ukulele, reading my books, walking the dogs, Meeting with my stars group, and keeping my nose to the grind stone for work.
Sue, Iām so glad that you and your DH are resting better at night and that he is feeling better. So happy you started getting your unemployment as well. I know itās well deserved.
Speaking of which, I have to walk the dogs because we are headed off to the Cape for an overnight and to meet the builder again tomorrow morning. Our hearings with a different town committees are slated to start in mid October.

Judy so happy that the car drama is far far behind you. I know what you mean. At one point, Carl had a dealer plate and fixed painted and sold cars (on the side) and always gave people a good deal....he was often taken advantage of....suffice to say some people shouldn't be in business...he has too soft of a heart to be the 'used car salesman' and I am not dumping on them...just stating a fact. That's a LOT of emails to get through. I'm praying that this new attorney is more on the ball and will give your DD the representation that she needs and deserves. Keep us posted. It's good that you got to talk to your brother. I had no intention of 'masking up' today but had not choice. Last week while in Walmart I picked up a sweatshirt...no big deal....nothing fancy just a plain sweatshirt to wear mornings while walking. Actually, I forgot about it LOL. Today I wanted to wash it and noticed a frayed area on the cuff. I debated whether or not to wash it anyway and just wear it as is, but decided to bite the bullet and return it. I really lucked out as our Walmart was dead. I guess, with this wonderful weather, lots of folks must be at the orchards just walking around. I was in and out of there in record time. The gal just took it off my charge and it's already been adjusted! Gotta love that. Now that I'm home and chores are done, I'm going to sit and read a bit. Waving........and will CBL..... The pot roast in the IP smells heavenly

Hello friends!
Judy it is good to hear from you and I'm glad at least one problem was resolved. I hope and pray this new attorney for DD is a better one and can, at the very least, get her some child support.
Debbie and I walked this morning and then I spent some time just relaxing and playing WWF and other games. I definitely needed some down time. Mid-morning, I went out and picked okra and fresh mustard greens. The few little plants I have nursed along produced a sizable batch of leaves, more than enough for dinner. Then I began attacking the weed vine that I had mistaken for squash. It took me two more sessions of weeding, but I finally got it all. I decided to bag it and put it in the garbage. I got four large black lawn & leaf bags filled, so it will take several garbage days to get it all gone as I need to leave room in the garbage can for actual garbage. I am making room to plant some beets, carrots, broccoli and cabbage. I decided I don't care much for gardening so far, but I DO love fresh vegetables, so I will keep at it.
I finished my audio book yesterday, Lost Boy Found, but was quite disappointed with the ending. It seemed the author just got tired of the story and quit, leaving loose ends. Today, I read up on the real life case that inspired the novel and it was quite interesting. It happened about 35 miles from here in Opelousas, LA. I have downloaded the first Poldark novel as my next one.
Breakfast was oatmeal with vanilla and blueberries. Lunch was leftover chicken parm, pasta and steamed okra with vinegar. Dinner was ham, mustard greens, purple cabbage slaw with Garlic Expressions dressing and butternut squash, pear and apple cooked with a little brown sugar substitute. It was a very colorful and delicious meal. Now, I need to get the kitchen cleaned, change DH's dressing and get a shower, not necessarily in that order.
Ann - Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated, as is your faithfulness in opening the cafe each morning. I don't know what I would do without this outlet for my emotions.I hope your pot roast was tasty.
Sue - I know what you mean about one task leading to another. Sometimes you wind up accomplishing lots, but not necessarily what you intended to do when you started. I hope you are enjoying the fire and some s'mores.
Judy - I thought of you last evening when DH was flipping channels and found a national ukulele playoff. I'm glad you had a nice chat with DB. He is right, you must take care of you. Hope all goes well with house-planning at the Cape.
