Welcome to our 2020 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.
The main focus of this board is to be ALCOHOL FREE. The focus of our new challenge is to commit ourselves to success, one day at a time, one hour at a time....success breeds success! Follow a healthy food plan, exercise and stay AF.
As with all of our challenges, everyone is welcomed. For some making the commitment for the entire challenge is the way to go, but day by day is also a way to go. No one is cut from the challenge, and if you don't want to be part of the challenge, you are still welcome to post.

BUILD A WALL OF RESOLVE, BRICK BY BRICK NEW CHALLENGE September 6 through October 31
Accountability: experiencing consequences for performance or actions. Accountability is essential for an organization, for a society, and for a person.
In other words, with accountability, a person will assume ownership of their own action because they will face consequences. Accountability is what we’ll call it, but think of it as both incentive and insurance. Establishing accountability helps us to stay the course, even when our former ways tempt us. If a little accountability is good, and more is better, then let’s go all in on this challenge.
What should we be accountable for in this challenge? Pick one, all, or anything in between. Feel free to add your own accountability goal and let others join you.

DH, DS, & I took the golf cart to the nature trial, so beautiful! When we got back, I made us spinach, mushroom, Swiss cheese omelets. We all watched a little nature TV, then all four of us took the golf cart down to the model home park to snoop. Afterwards, DD pronounced she didn't like any of them better than ours. When we got back, DS helped DH re-arrange some furniture, then left for home. I was lazy/ napped after lunch, then finally got up, did some laundry, ran the robot vacuum, and worked on the craft room a little. Ordered a bookshelf for the upstairs family room online and ran across some ladder shelves, but couldn't quite decide on which one to get. Watched a Hallmark movie after dinner, then stayed up too late reading The Longevity Paradox. Not sure I quite buy into all his theories about nutrition, NSAIDs, etc. but I'll keep reading.
Murphy- Sounds like you had a nice, productive Saturday.
Jan- Hope you had a BOT day. I don't think I would like staying at the cabin when it gets cold. Winky Dink is an old family game played on a homemade wooden board, the object is to move your golf tees around the board to "home", similar to Sorry or Aggravation. We used to play with DH's folks and grandmother and they also played with other members of the family. We "inherited" the board when we moved DMIL in with us, but never got around to playing. Not really sure why they called it Winky Dink. Regarding plastic canvas, I don't really care about the brand, but prefer working on the "soft" varieties instead of the stiffer type. It's hard to tell what you are getting online, unless specifically stated.
Cindy- GL at the cardiologist tomorrow.
Cathy- WTG AF, OP, exercise. I don't get all that nervous running errands out in public as long as most people are wearing masks.

MOVE MORE ACCOUNTABILITY 3 Walked Target and a short one at the park 7AP 10/10 hours of steps on Fitbit SLEEP ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Almost 8 hours, until the dream about the big snake this morning NUTRITION ACCOUNTABILITY 3 Good food choices, tracked, beer with dinner AIM Maybe that accounts for the wrestling with the snake dream JOURNAL ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Journaled Today will track all foods, want 2 rollovers HAPPINESS ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Feeling better, adjusting to "home" good to see cats and DH HABIT ACCOUNTABILITY 3 Need to work on water. CHECK IN DAILY ACCOUNTABILITY 5 I'm here and it helps TIME MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY 4 Make my list and get it done! BUILD YOUR WALL OF RESOLVE CHALLENGE September 6 - October 31 September 6 start weight: 199 September 13: 199 September 20: September 27: Good morning all. Happy Sunday. Enjoying watching the cats play this morning. Finn is so good and will chase around a tinfoil ball forever. He carries it in his mouth, moves it to a basket or paper bag and then tries to get it out. The other brother definitely has ADD Wants to be on the table, the counter, in the fridge, attacking the window blind pulls. Move him, squirt him, nothing sinks in, back at it in no time. Joys of childhood! Felt like I had a productive day and then just couldn't say no to the beer at dinner. Wasn't even that enjoyable, I know I have to change that night time habit!! It's boredom, not interested what's on TV, News stress, ingrained, check out behavior. I need to physically move to the craft room or somewhere and break the cycle from @ 5 - 7 which is dinner time when we sit with the news on. I will work it out!! Today is Sunday papers, probably left overs and a longer walk if it warms up. Hope you all have a good day. Jan Amy Sounds like you still had a busy day! So fun to be doing things together. Sounds like a successful shopping day! Murphy Are they still holding church services and having the choir sing? Has anyone else tested positive for Covid? Cathy We could probably avoid the store for 2 weeks but we're spoiled and just go to pick up a few things at a time. At least at the cabin I have to plan ahead as shopping town is about a 45 minute drive. It was cool enough yesterday to make chili taste good, I'll be ready for some soup weather. A 3 wick is in a round jar and you light them all at once. Cindy Glad DS has found friends/framily and feels happy to be in Texas. Did it help your mood that the Celtics won one? hi to all

Hi All,
ACCOUNTABILITY CHOICES!
Fresh Start Monday! YES! What is your accountability for the week? Better effort will create success.
Move More Accountability Gotta keep on trying Need to make sure the fitbit is charged and a minimum of 5K steps
Sleep Accountability Strange dreams
Nutrition Accountability AF. Made Orange chicken with rice. Not quite sure why I had marmalade but it made a good basis for sauce.
Happiness Accountability Okay day.
Habit Accountability I think my only habit is waking up every day. Working on it!
Check In Daily Accountability HERE! This is helping even if I'm not being very accountable!
Quiet day around here the board!
Talked with my aunt. She has returned to her daughter's home from rehab. The stroke definitely affected her speech. She can say no clearly but her speech is slurred. I did my best talking about things but not sure what was getting through. Will try to get hold of my cousin tomorrow. Also talked with my brother. We discussed the pros and cons of doing a bit of stockpiling because of how things may go in the country. Get some practical stuff in before others start thinking about it.
Amy, sounds like you had a very busy and very nice day! Glad DS is able to help DH get furniture moved around. It is always so much to look at model homes but know I will never have that "organized/decorated" home.
Jan, love visualizing the cats. Can understand the beer. There is a Bud Zero that smells like beer but no alcohol. Not sure if it is worth it. Sounds like you have a nice day planned. I was glad the Celtics won!
Cathy, I'm finding the same...I haven't been to the store for at least two weeks. The freezer is full as is the pantry How to manipulate it all seems to be the question. May venture out tomorrow.
Murphy!!!!
Hi GG!
Hi Carole!
Determined to wake up tomorrow and make it a good day!
Hugs, Cindy

SUNDAY: AF/OP/within points/40 minutes walking/
We talked to our granddaughters and heard from our DIL when she would add information the GDs didn't have answers for. She said Alabama still has many without power and 98% were impacted after Hurricane Sally. They were lucky to be back online within 24 hours.
I think we are going shopping tomorrow and I am eager to at least get some produce variety into the house. I think that today's lunch will be some of the leftovers and I will make the okra with onions, garlic and tomato sauce. We can have that with the leftover rice and whatever else is lurking in the fridge. We also have soup and some other things and though hubby said there is more zucchini...I am definitely NOT in the mood for it after so much of it recently! Maybe raw to nibble on this afternoon, though?
I cut my hair again last night before I took a shower...I am so glad I can't see the back of my head! I think that the front and back are about the same length now so it should be easier to trim it in the future as it grows out AND I can just let it grow without doing much from now on...until I go to the beauty salon again.
AMY: Your walk on the trail and the ride in the golf cart sound nice. It is marvelous taht your son is able to visit so often!
JAN: Thank you for explaining what a 3-wick is... I am sure you will figure out what you would like your evening routine to look like eventually then make it happen. I love chili but have to add hot sauce to mine since hubby is sort of anti-spicy. I am thinking I might venture out on my own in the future since my husband seems to think NOT going out except every two weeks is a good idea. Of course, with over 1000 covid-19 cases yesterday I may agree with him and just buy MORE dairy this time than I did last time we shopped! Your kittens sound like a lot of fun...so interesting how they can be so different!
CINDY: I wish we had a big freezer to store produce in...would make the days we don't have fresh produce easier to be creative with when making meals. I know I don't want more beans or grains but wouldn't mind having some alternatives to the beans for protein...not much to choose from in the country, though, since I am vegetarian/vegan these days and imported items are scarce, non-existent or prohibitively expensive.
Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!
