Good morning friends. Slept like a baby and woke up to 33 degree temp. Another day of frost on the front lawn. I'm loving it Supposed to climb into the 60 low 70 today. I'm hoping it levels off in the 60's
Nothing on the agenda for today. I like the sounds of that.
Pam so sorry that you book just 'ended'. Always frustrating when that happens. At least you got to google it and found out the rest of the story. I too would be lost without the cafe to come into. Meals sound good. Prayers continue to DH and you.
Waving...and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Got distracted this morning but wanted to pop in and save my place before we go out to eat. We had a wonderful time SD'ing with neighbors last night- the fire was perfect and the S'Mores were delicious! It was nice to feel "normal" for a couple of hours.
We are off for lunch and then I'll BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue was wondering how the SD'ing went. So happy that you had a great time. I'm sure you'll be doing lots of that. I can so relate to feeling 'normal' again if just for a few hours.
Enjoy your lunch out.
My day is planned and tracked. Having pasta again with all the trimmings so I'm sure the scale will say 'one atta time' tomorrow morning LOL.
Will pop in later.

Popping back in again. Just finished organizing the can good cupboard and took inventory of what we have and what we need. I made my list and checked it twice LOL. My soup ingredients are in the IP and IP is in the fridge. Before bed, I'll plug it in and it will be done in the a.m. The meat sauce is bubbling away and I must say...smells so good. Can't wait for suppertime.
Carl is outside sharpening the blade on the lawn mower. When he's done, he'll mow our lawn.
Going to take a little 'me time'

Hi Ann ~
We have a chilly one again today. It is after noon and still only 63 dg!! The house is cool and DH just turned on the indoor fireplace. Your meals sound delicious! I also love pasta! But tonight we are having hamburgers - pre-grilled the last time I spent time with George - so easy! The patties have been in the freezer as have the buns. We finished up the WW Chili yesterday and have the ingredients to make another one, so it will go in the big slow cooker one day. I have enough Cabbage Soup for a couple of meals, then it will be time to remake that as well.
I had a taco salad for lunch and it was delicious! We have several restaurants that we rotate between on Sundays, and the last time we went to this one I ordered the taco salad but forgot to tell them to hold the green peppers, so I had to pick them out. YUK! Today I remembered! I only had some cantaloupe and a HB egg for breakfast, so I was HUNGRY!
DH has cleaned out the fire pit and laid our next fire. Our neighbor's BF brought us a load of wood from where he works and they guys stacked it on the shelf in our garage yesterday. Now we are all set for a while. Both our chairs are in the inside corners of the patio and our visitors set up their chairs on the outer side so perfect SD but we could all reach the fire to roast our marshmallows, and it was easy and comfortable conversation.
Judy ~ I am so glad that the car episode is finally over! It is too bad that the little ol' lady didn't follow through on what you and she agreed on. But people are funny that way. I do not envy you the daunting task of sorting the emails and attachments from the previous attorney. But I know you'll do the right thing, and still take care of yourself, and 'what will be will be'. Hopefully that will include some support for your DD and her kids. Enjoy your overnight at the Cape!!
Pam ~ You are becoming quite the gardener! I don't envy you all the work, but the fresh produce is something else indeed. I loved the description of your "colorful" meals. I also love when it is as good to look at as to eat! Hope your DH is continuing to improve. Enjoy the cooler weather.
I don't have anything planned for this afternoon, except for reading. I started a new book yesterday and am really enjoying it. I will get a walk in, then read the afternoon away.
BBL.

Sue so happy that you remembered how to order your salad. Nothing worse than having to 'pick through' food. Enjoy your burgers. I get such a kick out of your 'time spent with George' I also love my GF grille with removable plates and our little GF oven. The oven will hold a 5# chicken which is wonderful for us. Carl is still out there mowing. The sharpening of the blade too longer than he anticipated. I brought him out water and a few snacks as he is the type that works through until things are done! Drives me nuts. He doesn't know the meaning of pacing himself! While Carl was out there and once the organizing was done, I did a very light house cleaning. I also changed the scentsy burners and have Fresh cut frazer in there. I love the smell of pine. I have three of them and the house smells really fresh and clean. Carl likes that scent as well and will enjoy it when he comes in. I also have the cofeemaker loaded and ready to go LOL. I'm a good wife Nice that you don't have anything else planned for today. I too am going to refill my water and sit in the screen room with the kindle. If I don't make it back into the cafe, will catch up tomorrow.

I managed to read the afternoon away .... finishing my book for this weekend. I loaded a couple of new ones recently so will get back to them next. We are promised an unseasonably warm week this coming week including next weekend, then a cool down. We opted not to fire up the furnace today even though it was chilly. Instead DH started up the fireplace and it worked very nicely. He has been to Kroger and we have put everything away. I am about ready to jammy up for the night and do nothing!!
Talk to you all tomorrow......

Happy you got some reading in, Sue. I never did. Oh well...once thing led to another to another to another.....y'all know how that goes. Tomorrow IS another day.
Our pasta fest was over the top good. After supper, we took a hood walk. Now I'm home and all jammified.
Sweet dreams..........

Hey all, we just got home from the Cape and we had a late dinner have a Cape Cod Café pepperoni pizza. It’s a fairly small pizza with very thin crust and I’m so happy that we can now get them right in the grocery store. It’s a local restaurant that’s been able to market to big stores.
We had a really good visit with our builder that went on for 2 1/2 hours today. We are, for the most part, done with most of the planning and we have already started picking out countertops, wood floors, and all of the fun stuff. DH gets involved in the nitty gritty things regarding wiring, plumbing, emergency generator, etc. I’m getting excited about all the plans. Finally. The town hearings start on October 13.
it was very cool at the Cape. A little too cool for me. 🥶 I know you love it, Ann, and it’s pretty but I’m a 75 degree girl- lol! San Diego here I come. Ha! It went from 90 to 40 in no time flat. Supposed to warm up to 75 this week though. Our DS and DDIL and the baby are coming up Thursday-Sunday for my birthday. I’m really happy about that. It may be the last time they see the old homestead.
Pam did you watch the Poldark series? Did you read the Outlander Books? Sorry about the disappointment with your last book. I’m glad you read the backstory online so that you could catch up. I’m still really enjoying my Sue Grafton mysteries and it was such a long time ago that I read them. That’s a good thing because I forgot and a lot of them so they are new all over again!
I started watching the Emmys tonight but there’s so much silliness going on that I’ve really lost interest. I really don’t like all the dumb jokes. I was hoping Jason Bateman would win for Ozark but the actor from Succession won. I liked that show, too.
Sue, enjoy these fires. Our Cape neighbors had a nice SD campfire last night. You are really enjoying yours.
Ann, glad the Sunday dinner was yummy. Love that pasta!
Have a good night all.

Sue, the “little old lady” I was referring to was my sweet old car! The woman who bought it drove that poor old car 75 mph on the highway though we told her it’s a good “around town” for errands car. She said that is what she really wanted. My poor old lady has been crushed. 😢

Good evening friends! When I left for Mass it was raining and still drizzling when I came home, so Debbie and I postponed our walk until 10:00. It was still only 70 out with a nice breeze, so not a problem. Other than that, I had a badly needed day of rest. I even took a little nap after lunch, unusual for me and a sign of just how tired I was. At 4:00 I did a baptism seminar. I made sure everyone had masks on, but within 30 minutes, the masks were either off or under the nose. Sigh! I guess I will have to print out guidelines and if that doesn't work, they'll have to find someone else to do the classes. When I got home, I packed up the wound vac and it is ready for UPS pickup tomorrow. After supper and kitchen cleanup, I started laundry. Since we will be busy much of the day with HH visit and hyperbaric, I thought I'd better get a head start. The scale is still moving slowly down. I got curious and took my measurements. I lost half an inch in my waist and 2.5 inches in my hips. I may fit into those button-up pants yet. I had a brunch of ham & cheese on a light English muffin and leftover mustard greens and squash/apple/pear bake. Dinner tonight was steak, oven-roasted potatoes, smothered okra, green beans and squash/apple/pear bake, which I passed on, since I had it at lunch. Tropical Storm Beta is supposed to keep things cloudy and rainy this week. Our consolation prize is temps won't climb back to the low 80's until Saturday, which is fine with me. We are only predicted to get 1-3 inches of rain, which is nothing, especially as dry as it's been lately. Areas further south, including Cameron and Lake Charles, which are still reeling from Hurricane Laura are predicted to get up to 15 inches. Some folks in that area are living in tents and nearly every house has roof damage, so that will mean further devastation for them. Judy - I have not seen the Poldark series, but intend to watch it after I finish a couple of the books in the series. It sounds like things are moving quickly with the new house. How awesome! Ann - I got a fir essential oil for my diffuser, but it doesn't smell much like pines, so I was disappointed. Maybe I should try Scentsy? Carl is lucky to have you looking out for him. Sue - Your evening by the fire pit sounded lovely. We had planned to shop for a new one for here and one for the camp, but that, like everything else, has been put on hold for now. Time to head to bed. Sweet dreams!
