So this thread is inspired by bbbearsmom and requested by mac . I'll get us going. Readers Digest version. I had been off and on with WW since I was 18 when I had to stop running 10 miles a day and gained twenty pounds and looked HIDEOUS 🙄🤣🤣 Years later I rejoined when I had two babies that required an usual amount of attention and I literally ate my way through my second pregnancy. So after he was born I dragged myself to a Saturday 6:45 meeting and lost 92 pounds! I then realized the only way I would keep it off was to start working for them so I became a leader for the Saturday morning meetings. ❤️ I LOVED being a leader, absolutely loved it and did it for years, but my MS flared up big time from trying to do too much and I ended up in a wheelchair so I had to give it up. I had kept the weight off for all that time, until the dreaded Harvery, aneurysms, thyroid storm that was 2017/18 🤣 I just KOKO until they figure out the right dosage for the thyroid and take comfort in the fact that by checking in and keeping myself accountable daily I haven't gained anything else! ❤️ Feel free to post your stories! (Don't be shy guys I know we have some absolute rockstars here!!) Also lurkers, you can post as a guest here (please don't post your full name though it shows!!). We'd love to hear your stories and this is a great place to introduce yourself. I promise we won't bite.

I lost 35 pounds with Weight Watchers in 1991/1992 and 1996. Both times I gained it back once the going got rough. Then I decided I wouldn't try again because I couldn't keep the weight off. Then I was in the spot where if I didn't lose weight I was going to become diabetic and I didn't want that. My psychiatrist and I finally figured out I was too depressed to lose weight so we changed my meds and then I joined WW in June of 2006. I lost the weight (80 pounds) over 18 months and have kept it off since January 1, 2008.
The big difference for me this time is I know I will have health problems if I gain the weight back, I kept up my WW meetings, have online support groups, and the reviews of the book "The Beck Diet Solution" I do three times a year.

I have lost and gained enough weight for probably 10 people. Ten years ago my DH had a double hernia surgery and was on the operating table over 7 hours and he developed pneumonia and had a stroke because of being in surgery so long.I already weighed 323 lbs and the saddest part was when friends came to take him to the hospital in a van I was too big to get up in it so ended up staying home.I only saw him twice while he was in the hospital and that's when a friend took me and he had to wheel me in a wheelchair because I couldn't walk that far. After he got out of the hospital I went to a new dr for a physical and everything was high...cholesterol,tryglicerides,blood pressure and I had developed diabetes. She said if I didn't lose weight it could be a matter of life or death. The rest is history.I joined WW Online during PP and lost quite a bit of weight and made goal and LT on SP before freestyle. All my health issues went away during that time.I ended up at an unsafe weight for me and with DebDoesWW's strict guidance right before Hurricane Harvey she helped me on the road to a safer weight.I needed to gain weight for the first time in my life.I didn't always do it healthy at first but I learned to.I am at a much better weight for me now. My current weight puts me at a loss of 191 lbs. I have kept it off for 3 years now and at first I was scared I would gain it all back and then some because that's always been my history.I no longer have that scared feeling and realize I would never gain all that weight back because I refuse to ever be over 300 lbs again.

In late 1998 I realized I no longer could get up from a laying down position. I would have to roll to the edge, Lower my knees to the floor and then use the furniture to stand up. I was in my mid-30s and was 208 pounds. After talking to my husband and working our budget we figured we did have enough money for me to start weight watchers. I started on the 1 2 3 plan and I lost over 50 pounds. In early 2000 I found I was pregnant for my third time. I didn’t say anything to weight watchers and kept going around my sixth month when I started showing my leader pulled me aside and told me I could no longer come in to weight watchers until after I had the baby. In my head I told myself I could continue the program on my own, then I would order dominoes and eat the whole pizza, I would hit up Taco Bell and buy burritos in bulk and eat them in a day. After my daughter was born in September I rejoined in February 2001. I was even heavier now than I was before I began in 98. I would try and try and not lose any weight but I didn’t lose hope and I continued with my weight watcher journey. Currently I struggle every day making better choices. I try to journal but I don’t always journal in fact most days I don’t journal. Well not on paper at least.
Now menopause and a sloth 🦥 metabolism I struggle to Lose .2 in a month but I’m still trying and that’s all that counts for me

i joined WW with 20 lbs to lose back in 2007 but i had been heavier just before that and had lost 10 lbs on my own. however, i'd been even heavier than that several years before that and at my highest ever, i got up to 180 lbs. then when my employer in san francisco shut down and we all got laid off, i moved to los angeles and had the rudest awakening of my life (superficially speaking). imagine being 180 in los angeles with all the girls being fit (not skinny, fit and look like they could run a marathon or do yoga handstands for hours on end). i started yoga, pilates and the stairs on the bluffs in santa monica (175 stairs i believe and i'd do it 3 to 5 times in a row at first). i also made the effort not to scarf down bags of reeses peanut butter eggs.
so i lost most of it on my own until 2007 when WW was doing at work meetings, so my friend and i joined. i made goal and lifetime that year. was cruising along just fine on maintenance, had started running and became a gym rat, and then i got pregnant with the twins. i went back to WW 8 weeks after they were born with 30 lbs to lose and it has been the biggest struggle to ever even get back to goal. i yo-yo'd a lot between 10 and 20 lbs lost for these past 10 years. i exercise a lot but it's hard for me to get my eating under control and as they say, you can't outrun or outlift a poor diet. 5 years ago i quit WW for good and started practicing intermittent fasting combined with general watching what i ate. a year and a half ago i started eating low carb and although it's slow going, i'm managing to lose the last set of lbs. i'm still above goal but with the exercise i do, i'm managing to be in good enough shape that i can wear some of the clothes i saved from the pre-pregnancy/at goal weight days. i'm not as petite as i was back then, but close enough so instead of killing myself to get back to the exact same number on the scale as i was when at the WW goal, i'm cutting myself some slack and actively making the decision to not get so bent on the WW goal but to set my own personal manageable goal. if i can wear the same clothes, i'm guessing i'm pretty much there, but stronger.

I made LT in 1974 after losing 30 pounds. I’ve had 3 children, lost both parents and in laws, moved from San Diego to Fresno and aged 46 years. I attended meetings for many years and did on line for a while but eventually could not work the program well with my lifestyle. In 2012 I started counting calories on Lose It but still doing WW until I got help from a local nutritionist. I e mailed her photos and everything I ate plus exercise every day and she always gave me feedback. I returned to goal but after my second knee operation exercise became more difficult. About 1.5 years ago I made a second trip to Canyon Ranch and had a nutritional DNA diagnosis. I can lose if I reduce carbs and have 35% protein. After initial eating everything but the kitchen sink during the beginning of sheltering, I’ve returned to tracking calories daily and increasing my exercise. During the 46 years I never gained more than 20 pounds because of the basic principles I learned from WW.

I was always around 140 after hitting puberty and at 5'4" tall with Twiggy in all the magazines to emulate I thought I was "fat".
Married at 145 pounds and moved to Lebanon (June 1978) Gained ten pounds in August while in Italy on a late honeymoon
Delivered first baby and was up on the scale (August 1979)
Delivered second baby and up even more (June 1981) Evacuated from Lebanon and joined WW (1984) and lost 30 pounds to reach goal Kept it off two years in California and Virginia Moved to Jordan for one year - came back to CA and took a few pounds off again before
Moving to Saudi Arabia and enjoyed the Gulf War and a different life style and gained again
Moved back to Beirut (1994) and taught for a year then quit teaching and had to lose weight Started the first program of points counting - whatever it was called - and dropped from around 200 pounds to 145 (1998/9)
Kept it off two years and again regained Lost 20 pounds and regained them between then and now
Started BACK on WW using I Track Bites conquer cravings May 16, 2020 and have been doing it or CORE since then. I started at 203-ish and am now at 180-ish.
I am not sure WHAT program is better and feel I am on a plateau right now with the drop into the next decade taking time. I looked through the last journey to goal's weight graph and realized that the first drop is faster than the second and each decade seemed to take longer than the one before.
My goal is to reach 145 or so again but right now am just hoping to get into the next decade of the 70's...as I track and move and keep on keeping on I remind myself I am healthier eating this way and feel much better in my skin than I did twenty or so pounds heavier!
All time high weight (that I know of) = 212 All time low eight (in HS and college for a few days) = 125 General weight before children = 140
I don't see a LOW weight easy to maintain but will see what my body decides over time.

Several years ago my (coach) leader asked a small number of us in (studio) class to write our WW journey and present it to the class so most of this is my story written then.
I was thin as a child and through high school but when I completed three years of college at the age of 21 I was ten pounds overweight. At the age of 27 I found myself 40 pounds overweight! I ate a lot of red meat, sugar and used a lot of butter for cooking. On shopping trips with my Mom we'd always buy bags of candy to eat instead of bringing nutritious food with us or buying a meal. I didn't feel healthy, was very frustrated and wasn't comfortable with my 40 pound gain in weight as I always took pride in looking good!.
In the Spring of 1964 I was substituting next door to a teacher friend who looked great. One day I got up the courage to ask her secret for looking so healthy. I told her how frustrated I was with my weight. She offered to take me to her WW class and I jumped at the chance! This was the beginning for me to believe I could succeed in getting my gained weight off. A real eye opener for me was when our leader taught a class on how much we were overweight by having us lift bags of flour which was equal to 40 pounds for me, I couldn't even lift them, how in the world could I carry it on me! I was a slow loser and within a year got to goal in 1965 and received my Lifetime, boy, was I happy! It took hard work, dedication and discipline to reach goal and maintain. Many rewards came with Lifetime because when you take care of yourself everything improves such as feeling great about yourself, healthy, being able to do things you couldn't do before and the list goes on. Over the years I then went to my own plan at times, gained weight, then went back to class as I know WW works for me to be at goal. When my blood pressure medicine was increased a while back I gained several pounds and right now I'm 9 pounds over goal. It's a real challenge to get to goal at the age of 82, the older I get the harder it becomes to lose weight but I know I can get back to goal!🤗
