Linda, I have Kuru walking shoes designed for plantar fasciitis. This is a bad case so even those are not totally eliminating the pain while walking.
Kathy, like Karen, we put in a whole house surge protector. Before that we had the power strip surge proctors all around the house. We had power surges last month and we were grateful for the protection, but we also do not know why we got them. It was not from a storm.
Karen, whatever has got my eye in a tizzy has sapped my energy so we did have a laid back weekend. We had a nice salad yesterday with homemade lemon garlic dressing. Today I made a white chili with chicken on the side for Iggy. Saturday Iggy had grilled chicken. How did the garlic salmon turn out? Any soreness from the gardening?
Becky, I am sure it is a relief to get Scooter back to a normal eating schedule. We used to put water with Teddy’s kibble too. How os the knee today?
Liz, Denise, I hope the work week goes well for you both.
I woke up at midnight and could not go back to sleep, so I got up and baked the baguettes. They turned out great and went well with the chili. I love a crusty piece of bread with chili. My butt is dragging this afternoon and my head is threatening a headache, so I might try to catch a nap.
Have a good Monday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. We were low 50s this morning, so where were you? Sorry even your Kurus aren't helping to eliminate the pain. How did Iggy sleep through the smell of baguettes baking--or didn't he? I can imagine how you must be dragging today. I was on Saturday and then was doing pretty well yesterday. But today I'm dragging and it is probably from all the work I did yesterday. I haven't had white chili for a while. Did you use cannellini beans? Kathy, the phone started working again this morning. When I called to cancel the repair ticket, the guy checked in the system and said that the box that generates our dial tone experienced a power outage and was reset this morning. With all the storms you've had, I wonder if that's what happened with yours. We've already had our first spam call of the day. That's one thing I didn't miss. Too bad the mushrooms in DM's yard aren't edible (for humans anyway). Good news, Linda, that Kelly can take office early. That could tilt things a bit, since it would be one vote closer to getting a delay in filling the seat. At least Trump has backed off a bit and says he won't announce his nominee until after RBG's funeral. Good article from The Post. I saw a related article in The Atlantic. Congrats to Schitt's Creek. Why do you suppose it won so big this year after not garnering many nominations in its previous 5 years. It's a show we have seen advertised but never watched, but we have loved Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy in many things and love their work. We also used to watch the old SCTV series in the late 70s and early 80s that gave them and many others their first recognition as performers. Best in Show is one of our favorite movies. Becky, how's the foot? Has it settled enough or are you still thinking about PT, when it's approved? Who ever Trump chooses to nominate for the SC vacancy is sure to be opposed for any reason that can be created. And, it's already starting. You can say many things about Pelosi, but she holds her own and you have to admire the spunk she has for someone who is 80 years old. Did you have frost again this morning, Denise? When will your trees begin to turn? Liz, how was your weekend and how is Zoe doing? Dale did an early grocery run and that may be all we need for the week. We have clean towels and rugs, but mostly I have been getting ready for board and monthly MG meetings this evening. I also have a chair for the nominating committee and told her I would run again if that was the wish of the group. I can't serve a 3rd term as president, but could serve one more year on the board in a different position. Not planning that far ahead. I may have my meetings on the deck this evening. The weather should be perfect.

Chele, thanks for the start. I probably shouldn't have called it a power surge. The power is actually going off briefly, so I guess maybe it's not really a surge so much as a brief outage. Even people that have the whole house surge protectors are having problems with these outages. Sometimes it stays off for a few seconds. I suspect they're working on something and take it down briefly. I talked to Duke about getting the whole house protection after we had that close lightning strike a few years ago and the guy said it wouldn't have helped with a strike that close. He didn't exactly sell me on it, so I wound up not getting one. I think DM's computer may have already been having some issues. The fresh baguettes sound good, but hope you can get some sleep tonight. At least you're productive when you can't sleep!
Karen, glad your phone is back. I've had the phone go off and then come back on several times over the years. It could be from the storms, but it was clear when it happened last time. Maybe they were repairing damage from an earlier storm or something. I'm surprised you actually got someone that could tell you what happened! That's more than we ever get from AT&T. It was nice not getting the spam calls. Do you know what kind of mushroom is in the picture? I wouldn't eat anything from the yard even if it was edible due to the lawn treatments with pesticides and fertilizer. I got some orange toadstools in my yard last year, but haven't seen them reappear.
Linda, I haven't watched Schitt's Creek, but may have to give it a try.
Waving to everyone. Hope you have a nice evening.

schitts creek is actually a bit obnoxious in the beginning . i would have quit but DH wNted to watch...got better. rich entitled people and their two bratty adult kids who lost all their money end up living in the town they bought for their son as a birthday gift joke....last asset that Nobody wants. the motel desk, jack of all trades woman is great from day one. you have to take it on faith that these people slowly grow in character and the town folk grow on you. the restaurant waitress is actually Levi's daughter and her brother plays David. he won for supporting actor, writing, directing....obviously a no talent family? Wow Chele, you bake your own baguettes?
somehow it is almost 4 and all I have done is walk the dog 2/3 mile and go to grocery store. might not sound far to you but at just under 100 degrees with sun added and a black dog, that is pretty good.
today was people are in their own world at store day. woman blocking meat counter texting ignited everyone trying to get around. I finally slid back to her and front of cart, grabbed chicken and fled. another woman popped up next to me taking pictures of grocery shelves? huh! others just paid no distance attention staring into lists ....all masks , but creeps me out. i pretty much dodge folks. got all I meed for a week.
yesterday I sorted what I had in sewing and notions and cut out a pair of placemats with fall leaves. I have three pot holders quilted in fall leaves from five years ago that i never finished hand work side of bias tap edging. guess that is a tv watching project.. the two matching placemats need bias tape . we have been using the matching finished ones...no ambition in that today.
there is a cute mask people are making...black with lace at the too for Ruth.
tonight is chicken marsala and some Indian frozen veggies from TJs.

Kathy, the mushrooms in your photo are a variety of fairy ring. There are about 30 to 60 different types and are pretty common in sandy soil, which your DM's probably is, given where she lives.

Thanks for the start Chele.I'm sorry your PF is acting up so badly.I hope you get your energy back.I am glad Scooter is back to eating normally again. My IT band and hamstrings have been so tight the therapist I had this morning said she could have played a violin on them. She did some manipulation and stretching my leg in a way it didn't want to move so it was very uncomfortable. It makes sense though since it has been feeling light a tight band around the knee that won't loosen up.
Karen It's not the foot that hurts. This PT I am getting is for the tightness around my knee.Pelosi is one person I don't admire at all.I will be glad when she is no longer speaker of the house.I don't care if they wait until after the election to appoint a new justice.Pelosi just has no business threatening impeachment again when he has done nothing wrong.People hate Trump so much that even if he actually did something right they still wouldn't approve. Not all people of course but I have never seen so much hatred since the minute he announced in 2016.
It has stayed 68 degrees, cloudy and breezy all day.It has felt wonderful outside.I just wish we would get more rain out of TS Beta.
