Good morning all. Another great sleeping night and waking up to 33. It's all good. Still haven't been able to get much use out of the screen room. Oh well.....one of these days It's just too cold at night to fully enjoy it.
Pam so happy that you got a nice DOR in. The scentsy are the burners that I've had for years. I no longer use their scents as there aren't any associates around me. I pick mine up at Walmart...it's called Fresh Cut Frazier and I believe Better Homes and Gardens puts it out. Also love the lemon scented ones. Keeping all those in the path of Beta in my prayers. Happy you and Debbie were able to get your walk in after the rain. Great job on the measurements.
Today there isn't much on my agenda. I know that Carl will be cutting our neighbor Carol's lawn. Wednesday he will do our other neighbors. Ours was done yesterday so then his 'customers' will be all set for awhile. He doesn't mind it, and it gives him something to do.
I need to reach out to Gladys via text and schedule a gel manicure and pedicure. Any day this week will do with the exception of Thursday as I have my cut/color then.
Hopefully today I'll be able to sit and read. Time will tell. The soup that I had going all night is packed and put away. Another good job done.
Waving...and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! I also slept well and woke feeling refreshed. It was quite cool here in the 50's but it promises to get up to low 70's this afternoon. At least we have sunshine as that always helps my mood.
Ann ~ Yay for getting your soup made and packaged up. I am on the tail end of a pot of soup and we just ate the last of the WW Chili over this weekend, so I see some cooking in my future. It is lucky that Carl has his projects to fill his time. I know my DH would go stir crazy sitting at home all the time; much as he loves to COME home.
Judy ~ I knew the car was “old” but I thought the purchaser was also “a little old lady”. It really is too bad the way that turned out after all. Your planning for the Cape house is moving right along!! You and your DH sound like a perfect pair when it comes to planning. That makes things so much easier. We are really enjoying our fire pit. DH cleaned it out last evening and laid our next fire, but we didn’t venture out. We will one night this week when it is warmer. I suspect we will get a great deal of use out of it. I ordered some marshmallow sticks from Amazon yesterday and they will come this week. We used shish-kabob skewers which weren’t long enough when just the two of us cooked, so for Saturday evening DH taped some together and made them long enough to not burn our hands. But we will really enjoy the actual “marshmallow forks”. Glad you are enjoying your Sue Grafton books. I love when things “feel like new again”.
Pam ~ So happy to hear that you are enjoying a cool-down. Also good news that you will only get a minimal amount of rain. We are also seeing a lot of “masks under noses” around here. I have no idea what that is all about?? It isn’t like they don’t know because almost every day someone on TV is demonstrating HOW to wear a mask! Yesterday while out, we watched them go from only over the mouth to only over the chin! This is not rocket science! I love your idea of printing up instructions, then if they don’t comply, decide what steps to take next. I have already warned my DH that if we eat out (as we do so seldom) and our waitress isn’t ”covered” I will probably embarrass him by asking for a different waitress – but he feels the same way so maybe it won’t embarrass anyone but her. Congrats on your WL – and especially the inches lost! That makes the most difference, IMHO!! Keep up the good work!!
I don't have much on my agenda today and I'm a bit tired-feeling, so I will probably take it easy. DH has a cardiology appointment tomorrow morning that I plan to go with him. Then I have a lunch with a friend on Thursday - and a dental appointment on Friday for a much-overdue cleaning. Saturday I will have WW WI and then breakfast with VBF. Pretty busy week for me ......
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue it's more important for men to be 'on the go' then women...at least with me. I am one that never gets bored. In fact, I could use more hours in a day to get some ME time.
It was great packing up the soup. I also made hummus so I have enough of that for the week ahead. Love opening up a fridge with all my WW friends' available LOL.
Enjoy your walk in the sunshine. I don't blame you for wanting to lay low today. Sounds like you have a busy week ahead.
We took a hood walk to pick up the mail, and it was a profitable one. We made an over payment on our car insurance. I think it was due to the fact that we paid them off for the year rather than anything to do with COVID. We already hot that discount. Anyway whatever the reason, it was well received. We shall add that amount to our car payment and be that much ahead of the game.
I am going to see what 'mischief' I can get into while Carl is out LOL......
My day is planned and tracked. I had oatmeal with applesauce and berries for breakfast...lunch will be soup salad and lo ham and supper is the lo pot roast. Have plenty of fruit and veggies and FF Greek yogurt for snacks.
Will pop in later!

Hey all,
I wrote a little "novella" but it somehow poofed away when I was briefly interrupted. Oh well, I'll give a condensed version which is probably easier on all of you! :-)
It is chilly today but sunny and that improves my mood immensely. A little sunshine goes a long way! I will walk D&D in a few minutes.
I just had a large grocery order delivered via Instacart. I have too much to do today to spend time shopping and unloading etc. I love to use the service about once a month when I have my detailed longer list ready and can just let them bring the bags to my breezeway and leave. NO lugging and it saves an enormous amount of time and energy. I am making stuffed cabbage tonight and I also have a nice flank steak to marinate and grille later in the week. I have an old recipe from when we were first married that I still use all the time for the steak.
Pam, I am glad you had some R&R and I sure hope Hurricane Beta does not damage poor Lake Charles again. I feel so sorry for those folks.
Ann, hope you enjoy that manicure and pedicure this week! I am sure you are putting serious miles on those sneakers, too, with "Ann" weather! :-) Carl sounds like an ambitious guy. I think I know one of those!
Sue, those marshmallow sticks sound great and my mouth is watering for S'mores! I remember I once had a recipe for Indoor S'Mores using graham cereal and chocolate and mini marshmallows and baking them into squares. Good thing I lost that! lol I am having a light Caesar salad for lunch along with a half a sandwich. I am hungry and I am also tired - woke up early and went to bed late. Not a good combo. Tonight will be better.
I talked to my DGD today. It breaks my heart that she is always so sad to leave her mother's home DD is going to get her into counseling. There is nothing sadder than seeing a little 6 year old so upset every few days. Sometimes I get so angry about how our legal system works. So helpless.
Have a nice day all!

LOL Judy... I know that recipe and also after making it again and again and again I put it through the paper shredder. It was either that or have Carl enlarge the door My heart goes out to DGD. Nobody should have to deal with that. To say it's heartbreaking is a gross understatement. Prayers continue. I've never used Instacart but I know what you mean on a larger order. Glad that you are happy with their service. Your meal sounds wonderful. Yes I am SO enjoying my 'Ann weather' LOL. I need to wear a light jacket due to the implant...can't get that cold or it brings pain, so I work around it. It is what it is and I just deal with it. I still can't believe that in February it will be 4 years since the BIG OPERATION. Time flies...... I can see Carl from the window on his mower buzzing around. I swear he has more energy than he knows what to do with. He should bottle it LOL.... I finished lunch and going to sit and read while the sittings good. I did a little housework earlier so now the rest of the day is mine. Still waiting for a text from Gladys. It takes her awhile to get back. She used to see 14 clients in a day...now with all the sanitizing and all not to mention she is also an interpreter at a local school, she only sees 2 a day. So I'll wait...no big deal....There are other salons I could go to, but none as convenient and I'm no longer will to travel. Will CBL

Ann ~ I don't blame you a bit. I also am not nearly as "hurried" or even as determined as years gone by. I just called for an appointment for a hair cut and got her VM and left a message about "this week or next". Funny how six months of staying at home can change our priorities. Whatever ...... Judy ~ How nice that you can get your groceries delivered. Now if they would only put them away for you?? and maybe start supper ?? I haven't taken advantage of any of the shopping services because that is the only time I get out of the house during the week and I really like to go. Even though I shop with a list, I also pick up things that are not on the list and the shopping service wouldn't know what would catch my eye if I were there. I went through that with a 6-year-old when I went through divorce from my first marriage. Only she cried every time she had to go and it was heart-breaking. Fortunately she made friends with a new neighbor next door and then looked forward to seeing her new playmate. The sunshine definitely makes a huge difference!! So after discovering I couldn't access my school email and getting someone else to try it on a school computer, she just let me know that it says my account has been disabled. I checked with an administrator and she thinks the system automatically removed me because I'm furloughed. Who knows? I don't think we've ever had to deal with "furlough" before. They're all just learning as they go. I got another deposit from PUA today, I think it was the "weekly bonus" we heard so much about?? I had WW cabbage soup for lunch and some mango/black bean/corn salad for dessert. I am seriously considering another walk while it is so beautiful outside.

LOL I know what you mean, Sue. I too enjoy grocery shopping. When we get to Hannaford's we can tell from the parking lot whether or not we will go in. Normally it's never crowded, plus they have someone at the door counting people. I walk up and down the aisles as I 'never know' what I'll find. I'm like a toddler...too afraid to miss something in the FOOD department I hope you get added back into the computer system, Sue. So frustrating when things like that happen. I'm sure you are right and they are learning as they proceed. Our supper plans of having the lo pot roast went by the wayside. Carl was starving when he came back from mowing Carol's lawn and trimming brush which both took longer than anticipated. He had the rest of the egg casserole with a toasted bagel which totally filled him up. We took LuLa for a hood walk and ran into another couple that we enjoy talking to and ended up sitting under their carport for quite some time...as we were gabbing, she brought out cold cut platter and we made sandwiches and ate that along with having sparkling water. It was quite tasty. Now we are both too full to even think of supper. Those little spur of the moment things really brighten up a day. I did put out a few fall decorations to spruce things up. Just the colors of fall put a smile on my face. I've never been a pastel kinda gal Think I'll sit in the screen room now and just enjoy this beautiful weather.

We had a warm-up this afternoon and I went for a second walk after lunch. That made TWO long ones today. First time I've pushed myself to go twice in quite a while. I also was able to open the house up a bit and let some warm air and sunshine indoors.
DH has laid a fire and we are enjoying it on the patio. I have been texting back and forth with DH's VBF's two sons. The house is for sale and there was an Open House this weekend. They sold the restaurant last Friday and were telling me all about the new buyer. He is a local restaurant owner, but not one that we know. DS#1 is in North Carolina and DS#2 is quarantined in Grand Rapids (all the Grand Valley State kids were). So they were both telling me different parts of the story at the same time. That really brightened my day considerably!! I forget how much I miss them......
I will be going with DH tomorrow to his cardiology appointment in the morning. He had his echocardiogram last week and I am hoping that he gets a clean bill of health. He certainly is feeling better since they changed his medication!! Just like a brand new man!!
Sweet dreams. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Sue how nice to play 'catch up' via text messaging. Oh I bet you do miss them.
Praying for good results for DH with his cardiologist tomorrow morning. I am happy that they are letting you go in with him.
Sweet dreams!

Ann - Thanks for the tip on the Fresh Cut Frazier. I will look for it at Walmart.Citrus Bliss is our favorite diffuser scent. I have a burner somewhere that I got as a gift, so I'll hunt for it in the meantime. With winter coming, it will be a nice fragrance. I am toying with the idea of trying to get a mani-pedi while DH is in hyperbaric. My problem is I don't know which of the 3 or 4 places I have noticed would be the best. I may ask the nurses at the wound care clinic.
Sue - I KNOW these people know how to wear a mask, they just don't think it will hurt anyone. I will have to remind them that I have a DH who might not survive CV if he gets it. It's so nice that "the kids" are staying in touch. I did not know you had a DD. I thought you had a DS who is deceased. Maybe I am confusing you with someone else? I hope all goes well with DH's cardiac appointment. I am glad he is feeling normal again.
Judy - It is heartbreaking for kids when their families break up. I know your DD will do everything in her power to help her kids cope with the situation and counseling is a great idea. I hope the ex does the same, since you said he loves the kids and would not want to harm them.
Debbie and I walked today and it was deliciously cool out. She won't be able to walk again until Friday due to her job, but I will endeavor to keep going, if the weather cooperates. Beta is supposed to head our way by Thursday bringing lots of rain. We were lucky again today and only got light sprinkles. The HH nurse rescheduled for tomorrow so I changed DH's dressing. I am very concerned about one area that is getting red and will be glad to have her check things out tomorrow. The other end of the wound seems to be filling in some--or it is my wishful thinking. It will be good to have a practiced, objective eye on it. I worked on laundry, got the wound vac put out for UPS to pick up and made a chef salad to take for my lunch after I dropped DH off, since I didn't get time to eat before we had to leave.
I drove to the little park near the wound clinic and ate my salad and a mandarin orange. It was drizzly, so I stayed in the car, but was able to put the windows down some and enjoy the breeze. I called and had a nice long talk with my yoga instructor. She was very sympathetic, having helped her DH get through chemotherapy a few years back. Her care and understanding touched me very much and I was near tears by the time we ended the call. She told me another class member has decided not to come because her DH is having health problems and she doesn't want to risk exposure, so I am not the only one.
I went back to the office to wait for DH and chatted with the receptionist a bit. Then a patient came from the exam room and sat in the small waiting room with me. He was being sent across the street to the hospital for admit. While he sat there texting and I assume trying to let his family know, he kept coughing and coughing. I felt so uncomfortable, I went back outside and sat in the car until DH came out.
We had "kousas" (stuffed squash) with leftover steak, brown rice and vegetables in a tomato sauce. DH used Mexican seasoning, instead of Lebanese and it would have been fine, but it was too spicy for me. He said he didn't use the hot chili powder, so it must have been the homemade Rotel tomatoes he had canned. Well, at least it kept me from eating seconds.
Tomorrow, DD2 will drive DH to his treatment. I have an eye exam at 8:45 with the optometrist I saw for years, before trying a new ophthalmologist in town. I want to make sure my prescription is correct before I shell out $$$ for new glasses. I was not impressed with the young lady who did my eye exam and the ophthalmologist only saw me for about 5 minutes. Oh well, now I will pay for another exam just to be sure. I really need new glasses.
I'm going to read a bit and then turn in. The Saints are losing, so DH has already gone to bed. Sweet dreams all!
