WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

C112D5, 1198 calories, 20 purple points, probably 5000-6000 steps but fitbit app isn't working. I'll figure it out tomorrow. Nice long walk with friend and another nice long walk alone plus many trips from door to kitchen with groceries - can't lift until stiches removed so had to make bags very light.

1732 calories 1408 exercise - 3 mile walk added to my usual Monday schedule
I love my new Tuesday schedule, it was one good thing to come out of the shutdown. I have a 9:30 home client, then a 4:15 client and 5:30 class. It gives me almost the whole day to get things done at home, grocery shop, ride my bike, etc. Today will be one of my last Tuesday rides I’m afraid. It’s supposed to be 71º and sunny.
Nancy, the programs I mentioned are only available through Netflix streaming. I do not currently have HBO. I flip back and forth with the premium channels; right now we have Starz (I think) as there’s a new season of a show out that the boys watch.
Louise, did you get everything closed for your mom?
Lori, are you able to take your new sneakers back?
Jane, I’m always so pleased when I can eat, or overeat as the case may be, like a person with a healthy relationship with food.

Checking in before day gets too busy. I’m taking 1/2 day today so I can get all my routine test done..mammo, ultrasound..etc...
Nancy, lighter bags = more steps! Not a bad why to get steps in...
Jan, I purposely brought my sneakers at Kohl’s since they will take them back. I think I’m on my 4th pair....two pairs, my front toe made a hole in netting, one pair were too tight and hurt my toe, my lastest pair are Addis’s, with them the bottom of my foot was burning. I’m having a hard time finding the right fit with the orthotics. Then depending on brand, my size varies....very frustrating....
Happy to say my weight this morning was 128.8 I think the biggest accomplishment and reason for the low scale is no binging since March. I haven’t had to undo damage....

Jan, got the affidavit signed going to the bank today, well actually calling with Navy Federal. When the Naval Air Station closed NF closed the branch here. The large population of military retiree's weren't really thrilled with that decision. Also there was some chance of the commissary being left open but that didn't work out either.

Nancy- Great job getting back into the 30's! So glad you got in some nice walks. Pain free? I'm still doing calf stretches 3 minutes x 3 times and now have no heel pain.
Jan - your Tuesday sounds wonderful. Enjoy!
Louise - hope you can fit in the ice skating and that all went well with the paperwork.

Jan - We tried the streaming but didn't like it that much. We prefer movies to series. For movies we seem to do better on Amazon.
Lori - My podiatrist recommends New Balance or Asics. The Asics I got were surprisingly $39.95. Usually they're more expensive but I think this color or style was last years. I got them at Dicks.
Kathy - Yep the walks are pain free as long as I wear the backless shoes. I did a week of your exercise at 15 seconds, a week at 30 seconds, a week at 1 minute and now I'm at 1-1/2 minutes. I do them religiously 3 x a day. My physical therapist agrees that it's a good one.
