Hi friends.
Haircut this morning and then a visit outside with an old friend. I am worried about her. She has 3 adult kids. Her oldest son has Cancer which the docs say is 90% curable, her other son is pretty much estranged because his wife doesn't like her and her daughter is the only one that she sees regularly. She got teary when we left.
Trying to think of a topic we can talk about other than what we did each day. Here goes. What is the best book you've read in the past year and why. Mine is..Where the Crawdads Sing. Shows us what we can become if we make up our mind to do it.
I would prefer if the topics do not be political.
Guess I better get my little furry guy out for his walk.

your friend sure has troubles nobody needs these days.
after I saw my dr to get gel shots approved for the left knee, I picked up reserved library books. you can go in with mask after security check and the only thing left out in a whole section is shelves of books with name of patron. then you self check out and leave. is it like that where you are? i miss browsing new books and the regular shelves..
I liked that book too, Betty. mystery with history and nice regional scenes. this year is so long I lost track reading, but the last Gamache book by Penny was good this month. i just got three by Deborah Crombie whose series was recommending for Penny fans...letting them sit a couple days after I Lysoled the plastic covers. Speaking of, did you see that Pine Sol kills. COVID?
Dropped off my archive clippings so far at the museum. So nice to see someone I know and talk. Aside from dentist and two docs, All I see is cashiers..no friends or relatives since January. really realky wanted to see nephew and his son from CA and niece with her three kids from Virginia July 4 visiting my brother....have not seen either set in three years. But outside was hideous heat and inside was crowded with recent travel, kids, nurse with patient contacts. good thing diabetic nephew and we stAyed home because nobody wore masks and two people got COVID and orobably their kids. sigh.
who do you see? how?
finally picked up a sewing project from five years ago..never finished the binding by hand or the other two place mats! my hand sewing is not what it used to be.

Lin, I think your hand sewing looks pretty good. I never could get the stitches even.
Phyl, take care. Sounds like you're in lots of pain.
The question who do we see and how. Our DD and DS. They come into the house but No physical contact and our house is big enough that we can practice social distancing. We visit friends but do garage or porch visits. Other than that doctor, pharmacy, grocery store with mask and social distancing. That's about all the people we see.

Hello everyone
I do not read fiction books. I read magazines, news articles, and research information. Seems that I am reading something off and on all day.
We visit with friends on driveways. When weather cools down we plan on meeting with friends at a park.
The mosquitoes are really messing up things here. DD and myself got bit last night in our garage. We didn’t sit on patio because of mosquitoes. Unbelievable
I am going to try a higher powered high velocity fan for patio. Getting it tomorrow. Should blow us all off of patio. Lol. My sister bought a swamp cooler with a great fan in it. She is not getting bit anymore. If the new fan doesn’t work we will get it also but only use the fan feature. Dought if we will use the water part. Don’t want to need to clean it often or it will breed mosquitoes. It’s expensive and big so not thrilled getting it. Hope the new fan works.

The thimble, pin cushion, scissors holder is Scottish, got it as a gift from catalog about ten years ago. The handwork is just seamwork on the underside of the binding. The quilting is machine. I sew one side of binding with machine, other by hand, I never get it right too stitching.
