WORK IT WEDNESDAY... Will figure out "how" in a bit. I think Ken got lettuce chopped for salad, so I may just have to throw one together this morning? Slept terribly last night - so stayed in bed later than usual this morning - will have to make time to get it done!
Kind of frustrated last night - got through with dinner, then paid a couple of bills (on line)- the remembered I should water the lawn! Then after watering,(about 35 minutes) I headed upstairs... my tablet couldn't get on the Wi-Fi! UGH! So TODAY I need to tweak my tracker for last night's dinner, before I can track today's meals! OY VEY!
Meanwhile, let me catch up here with my 1st cup of coffee! ♥

Sue: We should feel some warm up starting today here ☼ "Teddy" went WAAAAYYYYYY East so no "real" effects from that storm here... just the breezy day yesterday! By Saturday we should see 80! HA! I'll believe it when I see it!!
Knew we could count on you to follow through with the 150 minutes a week of exercise! Wish I could come home to an empty house somedays... just a little jealous of all your "home alone" time I guess! Keep up the good work.
Gabrielle: WOW, yeah, no thanks... a 7 hour webinar?? I can hardly stay awake for a 2 hour one in the afternoon! Oh dear... yes peanuts would have caused me to crash as well! Stress eating is never easy to "manage" is it?? I came home to Tracy just finishing a plate of nachos! Smelled good - but since they were gone, I didn't pull stuff out to make more - but had they not been gone... all bets would be off!
LOL Well, I still have an empty INBOX! It truly is amazing how quickly I can get completely CAUGHT UP when everyone is working! This will all fall apart again in October... I think Deb has the first week off - then the following week is Kaitlin... all at the same time I have to wait for Accounting to post month end - so I can DO month end reports. When they don't post the new month until around the 6-8th, then I am already "behind" those 6-8 days on my GLs... but with vacations - they won't get caught up very quickly! But for NOW... it's almost "boring" for me to be at work!
Oh you and I are so very different... when I am asked those questions about retirement I freeze! I have no clue! We never have lived by a budget - so I have no clue what we would like to spend on vacations! We don't "vacation" that much now, I don't see that changing when we retire! Of course I LOVE to travel, and we do have a couple of trips we want to take... but no way I can imagine how much they will be! The good news is they are road trips - so not as pricey as airline trips!
Ken qualifies for Medicare in January! YES - THIS January!! I am hoping it will change my insurance cost at work, so I can add more to 401k! We meet with Matt (at the bank) on Monday... 10/5. Decided to just go with him again... he's not a bank employee - but has an office at the bank. Nice guy... no matter WHO we go to - I feel uncomfortable! We really have nothing to work with!
YAY for a trip to lay low... nope... don't blame you... this is YOUR trip to unwind and relax, you don't need the stress of being with a large gathering! How old are the boys? I'd say YOU call the shot... plan a day OUT, for a walk or something, and invite them to come along... then the "ball is in her court"... she either accepts or she doesn't see you! I know EASIER SAID THAN DONE!! Good luck with that!
I know... I get that Kathy is dealing with stuff I can only imagine - but seriously the very LAST thing Patti needs to be thinking about is losing her mom right now! On a good note, they were here Sunday and they are talking about selling both their houses and buying one together! I don't know HOW serious they are - but I think it would be a great idea!!
Hey I'd trade you this 30's for your 90's ANY.DAY.! Actually this morning it is 50! No frost last night! YAY!
Good job getting your day of food set before your day started - yes I would imagine it helps... otherwise you might find the peanuts again! {{{hugs}}}
Sue: LOL Actually my McDs day wasn't as bad as Sunday turned out to be! Sunday between chops and apple crisp and Kathy brought wine... I was over 19 bites for the day! Too funny - that the slates are the same size... they just look huge in the pictures! Oh I also LOVE (some) scalloped potatoes... my MIL never made them as good as my Grandmother & my Mom!! Mine are good... they are quite often a "requested" side with our meatloaf!
LOL I am hoping after meeting with Matt we will get our head in the game for getting things done. Our Prudential agent is calling tomorrow night, but we have already started to get beneficiaries changed there. My Open Enrollment is coming up soon at work, so I will get it done there as well.
My portion of the review is done - sent off to my boss. It is what it is - and we'll see how it goes!
So the folks that went to DA... they say they are very cautious, due to aging parents, grandkids, whatever - but they went to DA! That seems to be kind of hypocritical doesn't it?? SO if they see DA as a "safe" place... who knows what other places they have gone - where they feel safe? I don't get it...
WOW To think HR will WAIVE quarantine for some people/circumstances?? Here in MA it's not a workplace thing it's a state thing - not sure the bank can waive anything!
OH OK Thanks, WHEW! I saw you mentioned to Christine that Cheryl won't have a need for those veggies in the winter - just wondered WHY? LOL That's why I bought so many at $2. a piece! I am going to get more this weekend - this time I will take a bag!
Yes you sure are on a successful stretch this week - keep it up!
Ahhh, the times I love my house are when it is oppressive outside and nice and cool inside! We rarely use the fans in the summer, as the house is cooler than outside! Now is the time - yes, this weekend I will have to open doors and windows because it will be warmer outside than in!
Ahhhh - OK That makes sense... no yellow squash and zucchini are not "good" after very long. ICK!

OK Time to get this day started... feeling a little down today. Tim is on vacation so he and Jaclyn, Eden, Tracy, and my sisters have a day out planned... makes me sad... that I have to work! Especially with little work to do today! Just me being foolish as usual!!
Meanwhile - Eden has her virtual Spanish class at 3, so they should be home in time for Tracy to cook dinner - so I pulled chicken! Not sure how she will cook it - don't care, as long as she cooks! LOL
Share your thoughts on WORK IT WEDNESDAY... what will you be doing to WORK IT???
I have a basic menu for the day, and will see about doing SOMETHING more than watering the lawn after work/dinner... we'll see!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Got in my run on the TM and ready for the day--today is the day that I roll out our office plan for people returning to the office and I have 4 people (all in more of a leadership role) who are not happy campers about it so it will be interesting. I have decided that I am not going to say much as they respond to the plan. Of course, they may not respond and then talk amongst themselves after we get off the Zoom. One of the directors doesn't really get the challenges of being friends with people who she is supposed to supervise. It's one thing if you can put work aside but this isn't the case for her. And one of them has SO much anxiety about coming back that others told me they get nervous thinking about her anxiety! Fun times, huh? The biggest thing is that I WILL NOT RESORT TO PEANUTS when I get home from this....LOL, peanuts will not solve anything. I am just glad to get it out there and have people look at it. By the way, they all have offices and can close the door! Okay, time to think about something else. I need to check the weather for my trip--it is finally feeling like it is happening. I am SO glad I am not flying. It will be fine driving and listening to podcasts...we won't be doing anything while I am there except for walking in on the canyon trails and visiting at my sister's house...I am just looking forward to the change of scenery.
Carole: How great that Tracy will cook the chicken tonight!! Ooooo nachos? Good thing they were gone! That would be tough to avoid, especially at the end of the day. Yay for an empty inbox! Mine probably won't even be empty the day I retire! LOL. How great it will be to be in the 80's...when can you drive on your driveway or are you already? I don't recall the dates. Do I dare ask? What about the refrigerator? Any timeline on that one? It's great that you have Matt at the bank to help with the conversations. I don't know why, but I feel like I always could have done better with my retirement planning...like they will "judge" me--it is my hang up. It is most important to have someone you trust though (I think it is anyway). What a great idea for Patti and Kathy to buy a house together! I hope that they do that--seems like a smart move for them. Hey there, of COURSE you are a bit blue about not having the day off to spend with Tim's family and your sisters! Completely understandable! I am sorry that you can't be with them and hope that you get your own day with Tim's family soon....and thank goodness you have your Fridays with the girls! Remember when Eden wasn't born yet and you were hearing that they wouldn't let her spend the night other places, etc. You have something so special with the girls! I would have LOVED to have that with my grandparents! Hope that your internet works for your tablet and that you have a good day. I do think that the PointsPlus program (Carb Conscious) is working better for me...it just feels better. Have a good day my friend!

Sue: Sounds like the girls and the GK are all settled into the school routine-so glad that there is a little bit of a schedule of some kind! Our schools will all be hybrid (in different forms) by 10/19 and some are already talking about getting ALL the kids back 5 days/week by Christmas. We will see. Our county moved into orange yesterday so pretty much everything is open except for anything that encourages a big group to be together in one place. We will see how this all goes. Good job on upping the tension on the Cubii! I think we have to keep mixing it up to see results. I hope that you sleep better tonight. I have been restless the last few nights too--even though my eyes have been tired from too much computer time. Hope that tonight will be better.
Hello to all who follow. So, what will I do to Work It on Wednesday? I have my meals planned, got in my exercise this morning. My biggest challenge will be to not snack when I get home and am fixing dinner--the stressful 3:00 pm meeting would be the thing that pushed me to mindless snacking. Hoping that it goes okay. I hope that you all have a good day today!

Evening all....got out of work and it was 81°....I can handle that!! Got windows open, blowing through some nice fresh air!! I love it!! Another crazy busy day today with more stupid fires to put out!! Still have a stack of stuff left from today to get started on in the morning....Tonya is off on Friday so if tomorrow is another crazy one, Gloria & I will be busy on Friday!!
Josh asked if we could take the boys all day Saturday and overnight so I plan to pick them up after work on Friday...probably grab pizza for supper on the way home, they always love that!! Will ask them what they want for dinner on Saturday evening....will need to hit the store on Saturday morning to grab a few things since I haven't shopped in a month we are down to the scrubs!! Need some fruit....the watermelon & cantaloupe is winding down and will likely be gone by the weekend. I know the boys love clementines so might grab some of them!! Will be fun to have them for a couple nights!! Sarah and Josh will get them on the way to Colton's football game on Sunday which is right down the street from us.....we plan to go too...will be a beautiful Sunday to sit outside and watch the game!!
Need to head back to Tuesday to finish catching up....
Carole....I have been tracking diligently since my weekend "off"....I have been taking the time every morning after I pack my lunch box to track what is in there and what I had leftover in the work fridge that might be the snack of the day....I took time to "Cubii" too!! I am trying hard to take those few minutes to focus!! I will get my oil order together over the weekend as mine is early in the month...I actually finally emptied the last month order box before I got on here!
I agree...this last week of weather has been miserable...too soon to be that cold. Really looking forward to temps in the upper 70's, low 80's for the next 6 days..... We have one last batch of corn in the garden...just a small patch but one last "blast of summer" for us!! YAY for the help from Ken with the squash....you got a GREAT price on the butternuts and it does freeze well...doesn't get too watery so when you have to prep ahead of time it is not in vain!!
YAY for an empty inbox....always love when I can leave at the end of the day with an empty inbox....I have one email in mine that I will take care of in the morning....just didn't have the brain power to deal with it this afternoon and it was nothing pressing so there it sits!
Great idea to park as far away as you can in the parking lot...I always did that at the main building but we are limited at the Remote WH because of the tractor trailers that come in and out of there....we have to park close to the building near a wall so they don't hit us! LOL!! I have been trying to be aware of the vibration on my FitBit to get up and move....only got 4 dots today but will continue to try and get all 9.....sometimes I'm just in the middle of something that I just can't stop!! Heck, even my trip to the BR is only about 80 steps....it's right outside our office!
Carole...while I am not in Kathy's shoes, it makes me sad that she would even contemplate giving up and letting the cancer "take her"....I can't imagine what that would do to Patti & Zoe at this point so close to losing Matt!! Hopefully when the pain and stiffness from surgery is gone she will start to perk up and look to the future and fighting for it!
Gabrielle...sounds like skipping "track Tuesday" for the TM was a good idea! 7 hour webinar...that is WAY too long for anyone!!! Hopefully you were able to break away a bit to more and stretch a bit!! I'm with you on the salty stuff...that would have gotten me too!! I can pass on a cookie but nuts or anything salty will pull me right in!! I have been hanging right around my "bites" all week, some days a couple over, some a couple under so all in all...successful in my book!!
So glad you and Ed are on track for retirement...I wish I could retire when Jason does...we do have so extra investments but the insurance would really put a dent in that....we could do it but for the sake of 16 months I can work until 65 when I can get Medicare. I actually "bit the bullet" and checked on our investments online last weekend and thankfully our finance guys have been very proactive projecting what the market would be doing....thankfully we each have an annuity that is our "bill money" for retirement that is guaranteed so there is no losses to worry about there....our other accounts are actually almost back to what they were at the beginning of the year because we had actually just increases out contributions to the Roth IRAs and have been able to "buy on sale" and as the market picks up we will benefit.....we honestly can't complain...our guys have done an awesome job getting us through this mess!
Sorry Gabrielle your DM unknowingly put a monkey wrench in your trip....hopefully you can figure something out and be able to see you other sister and NOT a lot of others. How old are the boys?? Can't they stay home alone???
LOL...I have no idea where Hannah comes from because Sarah, Jason and I are wanting summer back and she is a happy camper and loving the approaching fall!! Nebraska weather is odd this time of year.....40's one day.....80's the next.....but in about 2-3 weeks it will be cold to stay and come November/December....the temps drop dramatically and sub-zeros arrive after the new year!! It really is a crazy weather pattern but according to those "locals"...it's normal!

Carole...as I already mentioned I fell way short on my dots today but I'm trying to "listen" to my Fitbit and work it!! Salad sounds like a good plan for the day....Heck, Ken prepped the lettuce!! Sorry for the glitches in last night....why no Wi-Fi?? I thought that was all much better lately???
LOL Carole...Yes, I heard that "Teddy" missed the US and hit Canada instead....glad you were spared! The storms have really been wreaking havoc with many places....Houston is getting clobbered from Beta at this point....not sure what that means for the rest of TX but we haven't really had any "storm issues" all season!! Fingers crossed you do see 80 come Saturday!! Actually the one nice thing about the Cubii is it doesn't take up a lot of space and I can actually do it while chatting with Jason....I did do that over the weekend...he just laughed at me but I told him I was "multi-tasking"!
Hey Carole...enjoy the "boring" while you can! I can empathize with the waiting for accounting to close the month....I would get frustrated just waiting to finally get started on my stuff then have to scramble to get finished.
Glad you are meeting with Matt soon...I agree, I have no clue what we would want to have for vacation...since most of our vacations are to visit family still and are more often than not a "road trip" they are not super pricey. Once we are both retired, we will drive to Hannah's and stop and "see the sights" along the way.....Jason is already planning on different routes to take to see different sights along the way. I didn't realize Ken would be 65 in January....yes, it will be nice if you can save on your insurance and bump up the 401k....you have been living w/o that $$$ so best to keep putting into something that will benefit down the road. I think that Medicare will start the beginning of the month of your birthday so as of 1/1 Ken could be on Medicare then you can start your open enrollment for this year with just you....you'll need to check for sure but from what others at work have been saying, eligibility is the 1st of your birth month!!
Yes...I think it would be a great idea for Patti & Kathy to sell both houses and get one together....not sure how long Kathy has owned hers but I'm sure Patti doesn't have a ton of equity in her place since she and Matt hadn't lived it it too too long. But, depending on the current market so might be surprised!
Oh my...Sunday really did hurt the tracker!! 19 wasn't bad at all...remember my Chili's night and the day of employee appreciation lunch of burgers and dogs was REALLY bad.....think I was 54 bites that day and I only get 30...I ended the week at -37 for the week!! LOL!! It happens...it's called life! LOL! YAY for getting your part of your review done and off the next step of many.
OK...here is "my take" on being cautious and DA or any other restaurant, event, etc....we have gotten to the point where the CDC is saying that we can venture out and start to do things as long as we are still practicing the protocols set in place...DA is truly just a restaurant....they took away the salad bar and dessert bar.....the stage was a good 20 feet from any patrons, tables were at least 6 feet apart if not farther, waitresses, bus stuff were only in one level, no wandering, everyone was masked and when you went to the food buffet there were several staff keeping parties 6' apart and they were STRICT!!! Knowing these people for as long as I have, they have been very cautious.....no, they had not gone any place except the grocery store.....this honestly was the first outing of any sort for most everyone. That was actually part of the conversation that night...we were all trying to think about what we have "done" in the last 6 months....aside from those of us working, it was grocery store, pharmacy, doctor.....
Actually Carole...in PA the 14 day quarantine is a "recommendation" NOT a requirement but Sheridan is following and making people quarantine. I think the waivers from HR are because some states are on the list are because of the beach areas so if you are going to some place no where close to the beach and staying with family and not doing the touristy stuff they waive it. All in all....PA has been very slow to open up and so far for us it seems to be working. Unfortunately when they tried to send college kids back to school they did what college kids do....PARTY!! Spike the numbers and then the prisons last week...our numbers are back down again....as slow as things were in the beginning to open up the governor is trying to get back some sort of "normal" while still being safe.....it honestly is a guessing game for all. Funny thing is that MA has a much higher per capita rate of cases than PA....we are at about 1200 per 100,000 and you are 1800+.....both states are on the good end of the spectrum....it's times like this that National mandates and protocols would be great!
Oh YES....snag that butternut squash....as long as you store it right...it lasts MONTHS!! At $2 a squash it's a real bargain!! Have you checked the prices in the store??
Gabrielle....fingers crossed the day wasn't too bad when you rolled out the plans to return to the office...yes, I get it, people are cautious but unfortunately we have reached the point in this virus where we have to start to "live cautiously" and if people follow the protocols and do their best to keep themselves and others safe...we will all get through this....around here he schools opened, most hybrid here and so far all are still open...some have had a week of all virtual to investigate but then back to hybrid.....still not sure if they all have offices why there are issues??? Put on the mask when outside your office.....ask people to be respectful of your space and start to get back to life as we used to know it....it's going to take time....but baby steps and seeing how we fare is how we know what will work and what won't.....around here, I am confident that the schools are being very vigilant and if there is a cases they JUMP on it and contract tracing is working!
Time to get something to eat....ate lunch late and don't want to eat dinner too late or I will never sleep!!
Shelly...are you home??? Hope you have a great visit with all....
Waves to all those I missed...hope you all can pop in if only to say hi!!
