Good morning and Happy Wonderful Wednesday.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here!

Good morning. Yesterday was a mess! I ended up taking 1/2 day of vacation to try and get my cable/internet situation resolved. I was falling asleep on my drive (where I had to go was an hour away) so I stopped at Starbucks and apparently there was some sugar in my coffee, it made me so sick. So I am feeling like crap and I get to the service office for Comcast and it has permanently closed I looked up another service office and it was another 20 minutes away. I finally get there and they are open - I go in and they can't help me. The only phone # they can give me to call is the 1-800 customer service #. They know there is a local office that handles what we need done - but they do not have access to their phone # (they can email them - or instant message them but they don't have a phone #) They can't give me the email address. I was there for 45 minutes and I didn't know anything else when I left there that I didn't already know when I walked in the door. I called my DH - I was close to tears. I was sick to my stomach from the coffee, I had been on the road driving for 1 1/2 hours, spent almost an hour in the store and nothing. I told DH "I give up. They win. I have called every # I can find to call and now I have tried to go in person and nothing". We hung up. My cell phone rings 10 minutes later - and DH tells me that my Pop just came home, he had driven over to the new house, and they were there burying the cable. OMG I was so happy and excited - LOL We still do not actually have it hooked up but the cable is there and buried. The tech will come out on Friday and install it all. Fingers crossed that there are not any hiccups with that. Susie hope your mammogram when well. Not sure where everyone is - hope you are all having a good week. Waving!

Good morning friends. (I hope)
I guess I never posted yesterday. I thought I had, but maybe I just checked in and read. I don't know. I did keep busy yesterday though - I got all of my paints, rocks, supplies and my folding work table all packed up and out of the guest room. I'm not going to lie, I felt a little resentful while doing it. I know the last time I packed it all up for company, it took me over a month before dragging it all back out.
Jana - OMGosh! Just when you think it can't get any worse, right? Heavens, girl you got 2020'd AGAIN! All that being said, it sounds like there is progress being made. Who would've ever thought that getting cable/internet into a house is not brand new/just built would be such an exercise in frustration and baby steps. I mean, it's what they do, and you're trying to give them your money to do so...CRAZY!
Susie - hope all went routine with the mammo. It's good that your DGKs are near enough that you can help out and get to spend those moments with them. I'm sure DD and DS always appreciate that they have you there to help out.
Well, today is mowing day. Tomorrow is a rain day and Friday I'll be doing food prep for Football Saturday. Slaw, deviled eggs & seasoned green beans to go along with the BBQ chicken and smoked wings that we'll pick up Saturday morning. The high today is only 73 to it won't be a miserable mow at all.
Waving to Janet, Jill, RobinMD and anyone else who may be out there lurking around, I hope everybody is having a good Wednesday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sometimes we're the mess, and sometimes we're the broom. But it's the very hardest days are when we have to be both.
Lora love the quote. Sorry that you have to clean up all your rock stuff. Last night I started unpacking my office/craft room at the new house. I think I have the office stuff pretty much unpacked. I got to the boxes with the craft stuff in them and I was like eh, those can wait. I certainly understand how it might take awhile to pull all of those things out again :/
I left the pups with DH last night and I can say I won't do that again. It's funny that I don't mind leaving DH and Pops behind but I want the pups with me LOL. Youngest pup was being bad and not listening to me very well the night before last. It's only bad taking them out when it is dark. My oldest pup is good and will walk with me over to the gate and go right in. Youngest Pup was running all over and wasn't coming to me when I called her. I have a hard time if I have them both on a leash because they want to get tangled up around my legs. I suppose I could just put the youngest one on a leash since she doesn't want to listen.
Yard work complete, and not a moment too soon. We finished up and came in and before I had finished taking of my stinky mowing clothes it started to rain. Lol. I didn't even think we were supposed to get any rain today - so I guess I'm glad I didn't procrastinate any longer than I did to get started. Anyway, that's done for now and I can start to see where sections are browning and dying off for the season. It won't hurt my feelings to have that chore finished up for the year before too much longer. I'm guessing maybe 2 or 3 more mows this year at the most.
Jana - I had to LOL at not minding leaving DH and DF behind, but missing the pups. I can certainly see where I might feel the same. I've been spending more and more time on the local pet rescue sites. It might be coming time for us to bring a new dog buddy into the family. I'm not quite there yet, but I feel like I'm getting closer. I think DH will do whatever I want when I decide it's time. I'm the one that does all the work with the pups anyway.
Happy HUMP Day,
I worked from home today...not a bad day, but it started with major issues, including not being able to open up patients' charts so I could do their office visit. The doctor couldn't either. It got cleared up pretty quickly, but I had no idea for a minute there, just how I was going to make it work! I like working from home, because I also made hummingbird food and cooked some beef for tacos while I was taking lunch! Janet, I was wondering how many times your sister has gone over to help your friend, or driven all over town for her, or helped her with her finances, or grocery shopped for her? I don't know your family dynamic, but you can not be faulted for doing the right thing by this woman...her safety (your concern about her hurting herself is a very, very valid one), her mental health, her physical condition, her living conditions, and what is going to happen to her as she continues to age. You need to have someone else help you, and at some point take over, your friend's care and well-being. What harm does it do to your sister, for you to call the son-in-law? He might very well want to know how she is, and that she is having some issues. I'm sorry if I'm over-stepping my bounds, and please don't be mad at me, but I am aware of all you are doing, and taking on, with being the sole help of your friend. I am concerned for you, too, and the weight of her well-being on YOUR shoulders. I'm glad you had a bit of an easier day at work!
Jana, yippee for getting that cable in! I thought THAT was going to be the biggest battle, but after the giant circles you went through with customer service, I'm not so sure! HA! At least it is a step forward... I did chuckle that your DF called, no knowing what had happened and said "they're laying the cable"!
Lora, I got the last bit of my mowing done after work today, too. I know that Saturday has a chance of showers and I'm working on Sunday, so I didn't want to miss the only real window of time I had to get it done. It was beautiful here today, so I didn't mind....I only had one small section left because my neighbor mowed my orchard after he mowed his yard! Kind of shamed me into finishing it off...HA!
Waving to Susie and Jill! I hope you are having a good day... I'll be back tomorrow,
RobinMD
Hi Everyone, Today wasnt too bad of a day overall. I always seem to get more accomplished after my teaching partner leaves and tommorow she is leaving around 1 pm. Is that bad to say that I am glad she is leaving early? lol. Its okay Robin. I dont mind. I dont see the harm either to call him and let him know. Maybe I should do what my other sister suggests because its obvious to me that my friend is not going to make the iniative to call him or the agency my sister gave her the number for to call. Lora and Robin, glad you got the grass mowed. Lora, sorry you had to put all your craft stuff away. Jana, sorry that trip was for nothing to the cable store and you werent feeling well from the sugar. Glad tho that despite all that unexpectedly the cable was work was beginning. Waving to Susie and Jill and anyone else I may have missed.
