Ginny, yes the weeks just seem to fly by now. I was just thinking yesterday that this week is nearly over. I'm glad to hear that you found that the video really helps. It must have been a good one as you sound very excited to try it.Thank you for asking about my dd. She is doing well. I didn't hear from her yesterday but if she needed help or anything she would call. She said her husband and son are taking good care of her. I know you said it was going to be in the 30's during the night there. I don't know what it got down to last night but it's now 34. Haven't seen snow yet so if there was a little it's gone now. I like the heartland yarn because it's so soft and stays soft after it's made into something. The colors are very nice also.I wish I had bought more when I bought it because it was on sale.I still have a lot of that color they call Denali. It's pinkish...maybe kinda like a dusty rose color.I haven't washed anything made with it so don't know how it holds up. I also made a hat with it. The pattern for it was called Joshua tree and strangely the color of the yarn was also called Joshua tree. It's a really nice hat and would make great gifts for your family

Sue- Yikes! 24 is cold for this time of year, Donβt blame you for going back to bed. And with the pandemic the M-F workers are disadvantaged by those who just seem to get things done as it needs to be. Good news is that in 2 weeks (giving everyone time to get the paperwork done and notarized) the closing will be done and you will have one less headache to be concerned about.
Ruth, that Joshua tree hat is adorable. Guess I will have to check it out if they have it in walmart- as I do get in there somewhat regularly. Glad that Dd is getting help from her husband and son and seems to be doing well. That has to be a relief for you and Dh.
After church this am a woman walked up to Jane and with a bag of batting- asking if either of us liked to sew. Funny she asked......Jane took it and I am sure will use it with the Christian girls club that my church has.
Gotta go squirrel proof the bird feeder....have a great afternoon all. G

Hello Crafters Sue - Snow! I guess it's not that unusual for you this time of year. I hope everything goes well tomorrow and for the closing and you can get it all done quickly. Ginny and Ruth - Thanks for sharing that you've had those suspicious emails too. I've had them from time to time too. I did change my amazon password like Ginny recommended. I like the Heartland yarn too. I made a sample of a shawl that I wanted to make using this yarn and used up the one skein I had and then I loved how it looked and wished I'd bought more, this was last year sometime. But I'm fine with keeping it small, it looks like dolls clothes See the picture below. I did start a full size shawl in Heartland yarn in a purple color but haven't finished it. I got almost all the fabrics cut for the Autumn Jubilee quilt blocks (stars, trees, and leaves) and hope to get assembling them soon. I didn't cut the fabric for the star points on the 10 star blocks (that's 80 star points ) since I want to see how the centers look first and then figure out what fabric I want to use for the points and the background. And I want to use that method to make 8 half square triangles at once, hopefully that will save some time. It was 62 degrees in my downstairs today and I finally gave in and turned on the furnace for the first time this year. I'm hoping it will work alright. I tried to hold on because all next week looks like it will be in the mid to high 70s. Take care everyone! Ruth - Don't look too close at this piece, remember I'm a beginner at crochet

CJ- first of all,, no one could tell that you are a beginning crocheter. The shawl looks amazing and I love the vibrant colors. The yarn colors just seem to flow beautifully- its awfully pretty. Glad you have a game plan for the autumn jubilee quilt blocks- I don't blame you for Wanting to hold off and seeing how the fabrics all play out. And that is a lot of star points to cut....don't blame you For wanting to do them a bit easier either. Glad you were able to get your furnace started....its always a good thing to know that its ready for another heating season. Think we are in for warmer temps this week.
I put together the quilt sandwich- and its all pinned and ready to start quilting. Working on the quilt top so closely gave me a good opportunity to see how I might want to quilt it. I also found a really pretty decorative stitch that I would like to use on the border. So it was a productive afternoon. I will crochet this evening....perhaps work a little bit on my presentation for tomorrow.
Have a good night all Ginny

CJ, no you can't tell me that you're a beginner. That is absolutely beautiful. The colors are wonderful. Are you sure it's Heartland though. It looks more like Landscapes. Landscapes has more of a sheen like your picture shows and Heartland's colors are more subdued and have a slight almost tweed look to them.I could be wrong though... I often am. sometimes things don't show up in a picture like they are in person.
Ginny, it sounds like you also accomplished a lot today. And how nice that someone gave Jane all that batting and that she has such a good plan in mind for it.
