Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello.

Quiet here- but it usually is early in the day. Worked this am and taught a class. I am now babysitting Dgd2 and Dgs2. Both are napping so for now it’s quiet. Got my crocheting with me.... hope I can some time in working on the pocket scarf.

It's quiet here, too. No wind today. Not too cold yet.
The gremlins are at work today. It feels like everything I need has wound up in some strange place. Glasses cell phone, keys.
The paperwork for the sale of the house is evidently somewhere between there and there. The mobile notary still doesn't have it. Someone there is looking into the matter. In the meantime the guy who has been sort of a caretaker doesn't want to leave, and is about to become a trespasser instead of a homeless squatter.
This will all work out, just not today.

Hello Crafters Ruth - You are correct about that yarn, it is Landscape not Heartland. You have a great knowledge of yarn! Ginny - Hope you were able to crochet with the grandkids were napping. Sue - I'm sorry to hear about the caretaker problem and the paperwork problem - you have really had to deal with a lot with this house. Hope it will all work out for the best for you. It was supposed to be cloudy here today, but it was sunny most of the day. You couldn't pay me to be a meteorologist At least it was warmer so I didn't have to turn the furnace on. The final block for the FaLaLa Sew Along came out today and I finished my Christmas and Fall versions (I'll add pictures in a separate post). Next week will be the finishing instructions but I may have to do something different. I already regret not putting something in the center square of the Christmas blocks, so I'm going to need to add some print fabric to pull these blocks together. I have more of the Pumpkin Fabric that I think I will use and make the Fall blocks into a wall hanging. I also finished the first block for the Cozy Things quilt along with Pat Sloan (picture also below). The fabric in this block is more gray/silver than shows up in the picture. The snowflake fabric has a silver background and the center square has a bit darker silver/gray. That fabric is the square is what I'm using as the focus fabric to match everything up to. I have a few other fabrics I can add into this quilt. Now that these are done I can focus on catching up with the Autumn Jubilee quilt blocks. Take care everyone

Love the attitude Sue- its all gonna work out, but on another day. Since the arrival of Covid lots of stuff like that seems to be on its own timetable, and sort of miraculously just happens... Keep your chin up- in 2 weeks this will all be over with. Hope that the “caretaker/trespasser” gets out- I can imagine the new owner to be will be super frustrated with that situation., as any new owner would be. Think we all have those days in which nothing seems to be in its rightful place...so annoying and so frustrating. So......my mattress was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and they called me with the ONLY time that I cannot be home to accept delivery. I have given them a bunch of days in substitute- and I am hoping that I do not have to wait too much longer. The good part is they now have a mattress to deliver to me Got a few minutes of crochet time in while both grandkids slept. The baby was a bit fussy, so I did not have more than 15 minutes to crochet. youtu.be/Vb6vxkkWC-cThis is the youtube on how to make 8 half square triangle squares quickly and easily. I finally sat through it....simply ingenious!!! Ginny

CJ- gee that is pretty- the cozy things block is pretty and creates a nice optical illusion...of course up close you can see how it is put together with triangles...One of your machines does embroidery stitches. Would you consider some sort of machine embroidery or, perhaps a simple applique?? I know you would have to stabilize for applique, but if the design is small enough you should be able to do that. Actually the smaller of the Christmas trees from the cozy things quilt might work.....and fit in the white center square. You are so creative, I am sure you will come up with something that is nice.

Sue,, yes things do work out and no sense worrying about the estate things when there's nothing you can do about them. These things work at their own pace esp, as Ginny said, during this covid. Not not only rightly is blamed for delays but people also use it as an excuse. As far as finding things, lately dh and I both have searched for things that were right in front of us. Today is was my spice grinder.
Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you watched the video and feel that it's a good one. I'm going to go look at it even though right now I'm not even attempting to start quilting. I still have too many crochet things to get done before Christmas then before the beginning of the year birthdays. It's great that the children take naps. Too bad the baby was fussy for you today though.
CJ, Those blocks alone and together are amazing. I particularly like the Christmas one.It looks simple but it's outstanding. I do see what you mean on that top one. It would have been nice to have something in the center but it looks great as is as well. It was a warmer day here today. At least up to 60 but on Thurs the high will be only 30 and there is to be snow then on Sun high will be only 16!! The nightime low will be only 10 and snow that day too. We're going out on Wed to stock up by picking up an online pickup order then we'll be able to just stay home during the bad weather.

Ruth, every time I hear your weather I am amazed at how the weather swings back and forth from such extremes....yes I think its a very wise move to stock up and get some shopping done. (Don’t you love that online ordering?). TIme to get ready for winter for sure. Enjoy that video. What is incredible about it is how easy the process is- and how much work it would be to actually make all those squares if you had to make them individually.
Teaching again this am - and then I will be going to the store. Tomorrow I am pretty much house bound as the contractor will be here to get my wood burning stove cleaned and back in business.
Better get myself up and getting ready to teach. Ginny

The mobile notary was here, and the papers are on their way back to there in overnight mail.
This will still probably be another week because of the squatter who has rights! The five day notice was filed today, and there's back up correspondence about the 30th of September as his last day.
It will happen.

Sue, that is indeed good news.... its all starting to come together and the closing will take place. I figure you wish that it was all done and over with by now. Ruth said it best, you will be happy and relieved once its all taken care of.
Ds was kind enough to share his cold with me. I do not feel awful (he did not either). Just tired....glad I do not have much to do tomorrow- other than quilt. I did rake some leaves today and took care of some paperwork that needed to be done. Plans are to crochet while watching TV tonight. G

Ginny, I hope the cold is soon gone and you don't feel really bad in the meantime. I hope, too, that you will have a relaxing evening watching tv and crocheting.
CJ, I hope all is going well for you today. I keep looking back at your pictures because they are so pretty.
I haven't accomplished much today. Just put the final touches on the pickup order which I will pickup tomorrow, cleaned the kitchen (never ending battle) and now am about to sit and crochet for the evening also. If dh is asleep I put on Columbo reruns and crochet while it keeps me company. I use closed captioning but don't have to pay attention because I've seen them all numerous times. I think I need to get something else to keep me company while crocheting. I used to watch Law and Order reruns but have quit them because of their agenda.
I, yet again, ripped out a couple cowl tries as the patterns didn't work well with the yarn and finally ffound a pattern that's perfect. I'll use the same one for at least one pocket shawl. Oh the other thing I did today was wrap more birthday gifts. I just have three more of the children's gifts and they are the ones that only get one...maybe two little things because it's not their birthdays and for the third, it is her birthday but she prefers money so I will wrap the pocket shawl I made for her and put money with it so what I'm trying to say and making it more blabby than it needs to be is that I really only have a couple more things to wrap. I thought dh was going to faint when he saw the pile of gifts. He worries about the postage. I explained that since I'm sending all at once it's cheaper than if I had sent each person's gifts separately at the actual time of their birthdays.

Good morning all, CJ- I am thinking that you are also having some warm weather (been window open weather here). Nice cause you do not have to turn the heat on...and not too hot so that it is uncomfortable.Thought of you as I got an email from my friend. We were discussing scrappy quilts. Of course this friend suggested that I go out and buy a few fat quarters of new fabric to help get a good assortment of fabrics....ha ha ha. Anyway, hope you are doing ok and getting some quilting in.
Sue- how is your weather? Hope that all the closing paperwork is where it needs to be and you are on the way to getting that house sold and the squatter gone.
Ruth- think we all have our default programs to keep us company. Many love Law and Order....I tend to go to Hallmark Channel or HGTV. So tell Dh that crochet projects (unless its a huge afghan) dont really weigh that much and will not add a lot of weight to the package. So happy for you that you have found a perfect cowl pattern. Its so frustrating until you can do that....i went through that process a couple of times- which for me is why I do not usually try many new patterns. When do you hope to get this package mailed? I hope your grocery order is perfect and they have everything that you want in stock.
Did not sleep enough, but slept pretty well. Think the cold I have helped. Gotta go get my walk in. Expecting the chimney/wood burner repair man in a little over an hour. G

I like to watch hgtv and diy in the evening. They're a nice contrast to hb's news and Lone Ranger all day long. My first choice is reading, but then I can't do anything else.
This morning is quiet. The completion of the house sale is in someone else's hands now. They have a vested interest in completion, so it will get done. The side story will be the squatter who is about to become a trespasser. He's not part of the bigger picture.
Snow tonight. Getting colder.
