This is a thread for those of us that have Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or as I call it: winter depression. We can use this thread to commiserate and encourage each other.

It is in the high 40's/low 50's today. Our new thermostat works, the heat kicked in just fine. My husband went out and turned off the outside water. We can't use it anyway because we are in water restrictions because of drought conditions. We rolled up the dining room rug this morning. Getting rid of it because it is stained and we can't get the stains out. Having to get use to just the hardwood floor. We put caps that have felt on the bottom on the chair legs.

In the low fifties during the day here, thirties tonight! My daughter and I did wash, shopping three stores, some cleaning, ride around the lake and tried to fix my washer that wasn't working right, have to have my son look at it to see if I need to call for service. Everything seems to be going to h3ll in a handbag around here lately, everything is breaking! I guess typical of this Covid year.🤔

This may not apply to everyone, but I found, for me, taking a decongestant every day really increases my symptoms. I can take a 12 hour allegra-D once every 3 days, but more than that and I get brain fog and just generally "down". Not exactly SAD related, but possibly causes an increase.

DotRen, Good point, thanks for sharing. Got out to the pharmacy early to turn in some prescriptions. They filled them in about 10 minutes which to me is fast. We just had 1-800-Got-Junk to take some stuff away. Now there is more room in the yard shed. Weather is a bit dreary and we had a bit of drizzle. Big rain storm is predicted starting on Thursday and going into Friday. Might do my grocery shopping at the big store on Wednesday to avoid the rain on Thursday.

DotRen, Your post got me thinking about other things that can impact my mood besides the depression. I have a lot of aches and pains and I've learn to recognize that and take a OTC pain reliever if needed. I might be sitting around not doing things and it's because my back hurts not the depression.

bbbearsmom, good point! We take a lot of the little things we do as being harmless, but they can affect our moods apparently.

We have to really be careful when taking medicine OTC and prescription drug, such as for migraine, because if taken to often it can cause rebound headaches which is worse then the headaches, been there, done that.

Sunny and in the low 60's today. Will be going out grocery shopping and then picking up Chinese food for my husband. I'm passing on the Chinese food because we just had take out over the weekend and I don't find Chinese food worth the points or the sodium. I want the fun stuff and that is pointy.

We talked about taking vitamin D recently. I heard on the news that one of the countries over seas who had cases of Covid found 80 per cent of those people were deficient in vitamin D. They are trying to figure out why vitamin D may be connected to Covid. Some believe it may make the immune system stronger. Good idea to keep taking your vitamin D!😄
It's only in the forties here today and bone chilling cold.
