Michaels? IMO- not terribly well stocked, a whole lot disheveled and at times chaotic. I have bought lovely storage baskets from them, and some jewelry supplies when Dd was into making that. And some frames and yarn. ACMoore (the very next door store) had a tall wall of RH supersaver, every color, and really well stocked. The store was better organized, and bright (as CJ said). Super easy to find stuff. I would have closed Michaels in a heartbeat to keep AC open. unless it was a sale item I always went into AC Moore first to find what I was looking for.
Ruth, sounds like you are making great progress on the shawls and your cowls/buttons. Glad the buttons are what you wanted. Hope you are able to find the RH ombré somewhere....does hobby lobby have anything similar?? I uses their yarn for a baby afghan and was very happy with it.
CJ- totally agree with you- now that AC is closed, I will go to Joanns first- you can usually wrangle a good discount or free shipping from them. But they are not as well stocked as AC was. My Joanns is in the same strip mall as AC was and Michales is- it sure makes it easy . LOVE the Autumn Jubilee quilt rows. Usually you can ease rows to make them fit. You ill laugh, but my favorite are the star rows.....how silly is that. But you did a great job putting it together and your fabrics are so pretty. I too am anxious to see what she wants you to do for final assembly.

Ginny - NOOO, not the stars I do like how they turned out. If I hadn't done the points as flying geese units, I probably wouldn't have even made them. I dreaded thinking of squaring up 80 half square triangles. Ruth and Ginny - Thanks for the compliments on the quilt rows. I really enjoyed making the trees and leaves. I'd like to do a whole quilt of those blocks.

So sorry CJ- I just like the stars and the different fabrics. But I do understand...at the end of my BOM (which was all star blocks using different techniques) when I made the last round of flying geese, I remember commenting to Jane that my flying geese flew away. They can drive you nuts for sure. And yes, I love all the blocks, but seriously would love a quilt of just those stars, which are stunning. Hope that you come through Zeta ok today- not too much wind or rain. Think we are both in for a tough day.
Phyl- glad you are ok- its good to see you check in to say hello. Hope that you have just been busy and that nothing is wrong.
Worked this am- and ran some errands. We are having dinner at DD’s tonight, I am making twinkies (got a knock off recipe) and Spanish rice to go with it. Hope that this afternoon I can work on the quilt a bit, but I think that the crocheting I got in this am might be all the crafting I get in today. G

Hello Crafters Phyl - Thanks for your comments on my Autumn Jubilee rows. I'm glad you are doing O.K. and look forward to hearing from you. I like your pumpkin block in your avatar, it looks like a crazy block Ginny - Hope you enjoy the dinner at your DD's house and that you don't get too much rain. I didn't think it was going that far north, but I see on radar it's very widespread. It is rainy here, but mild outside. We've had over 2 inches of rain so far today, so I hope it finishes soon. At least it's spread out over the day and didn't come down all at once. I'm hoping to figure out the layouts for my other Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilts. And I think I've decided to finish the Christmas FaLaLa blocks into a wall hanging instead of a table runner. I just don't need a table runner, but the wall hanging would be nice. Hope all of you are doing well and getting to do some crafting.

I do think that a wall hanging would be fantastic. And I have to agree with Ginny, I like the stars best then the trees in that quilt.
Ginny, I hope you have a lovely evening with your dd and her family. It sounds as though it's going to be a great meal and then there's the wondeful grandchildren to enjoy.
Well I did get the cowls all done and everything is now packed and in the car ready to go to the post office tomorrow. I think we will also make a stop at the bank but no where else so it shouldn't take us long.I thought I was done with dgs' blanket but found that I made a mistake that can't be left many rows back so I spent last evening ripping out and am finally back on track today. It will take me a couple days to get it done now I think.
We've been having a lot more new cases of virus and the hospital has no decided that no visitors are allowed at all. People here have been very careless so it's no surprise that cases are going up

CJ- as I was just driving back from DD’s house I thought of you and hoped you got through Zeta without too much difficulty. Sounds like the storm was not too bad for you - really glad to hear that!!! Love the idea of a wall hanging- and that would make a stunningly pretty one.
Ruth- during the peak of Covid in the spring, hospitals here did not permit visitors- as a matter of fact my SIL had a surgical procedure and was not permitted to see her family until she was released a week later. So sorry that you had to take out some of DGS blanket - hope you can recover the lost ground quickly. Were you able to get the yarn you wanted??
Dinner was with DD#2 and her Dh. Easy to get along with and a pleasant evening. My crafting today was some crocheting and ordering some quilting paper to transfer a stipple design to the panel quilt. Got that idea from my buddy Jane.
Storm is gone here and thank you Lord- we came though it ok.
See ya tomorrow G

Oh Sue!!! So pretty.....I love it! I always like the rich look of burgundy in fabrics. So very pretty indeed. Was this table topper in one of the new quilt books you just got? Do you quilt your own work-?
Cold here and snowing this fine morning. I did go in to work and sat in a cold bus for awhile so I have a bit of a chill.Just made myself a bowl of farina, a favorite of mine. That should help chase the chills away. Trying to decide if I want to build a fire or not.....nice to know that the wood burner is cleaned and safe to use. I will have to take a little bit of yarn from the second skein- I probably only have a few more rows to go before I decide if I want to add pockets or a fringe.
Have a great day. Ginny

GOOD MORNING GIRLS, I love all the quilt pictures.love Sue's quilt and C.J fall quilt.
Monday was the chiro. yesterday met with my pa she has me set up for 2 appointments with dry needling procedure. this is similar to acupuncture, only they do not use the sticks. think there is some medication in the needles.my PT will be doing it. have to be at he clinic MONDAY 6.30 AM.
PATTI told me to get the purple gypsy sit upon cushion.you can order this online and they have one for sewing.kinda like the egg cartons thing.
my sewing room has stayed cleaned since last week. PHYL

Phyl, my dd had that dry needling done at her physical therapy center. There's no medication in the needles.I don't know if it helped her or not because her back is a mess of bad discs, etc.
Ginny, I thought you meant dd#1 and the grands. Well you had a different kind of good time with dd#2 and her hubby instead.
Sue, that is a really beautiful quilt.I love the colors. I wondered, too, if you do your own quilting on the smaller projects.
CJ, I hope you're having a good relaxing day.
I did work on dgs' blanket last evening but didn't get back to where I was yet. I had other things I needed to do and also got kind of sucked in by an online game...not to mention looking at youtubes of crocheting projects...Like I need more!!
I'm not sure if we're still going out for errands today or not and dh came to bed late and is still sleeping

Hello Crafters Sue - That's a pretty tabletopper, I love the fabric selections and colors. And the block is an interesting pattern with the strips and the triangle piece. Ginny - Hope you can enjoy the snow, is it the light powdery type? I like that kind and it's pretty to watch it coming down. I'm glad you have the wood burner to help with heat. Phyl - Thanks for your comments on my quilt. I hope the appointment on Monday will help you. Ruth - Hope you can get your errands done if you go out today. It's colder and windy here today, but at least the rain is over. I think we had over 2.5 inches yesterday. Hopefully we'll get some dry days so it can soak into the ground. I finished the Christmas version of the FaLaLa quilt this morning and I'll share a picture when I can. I made mine into another wallhanging instead of a tablerunner. The finishing directions came out today for the Autumn Jubilee quilt and the final version she did is very pretty (I'll post a link below), but not the way I want to finish mine. I will add the sashing between the rows and an inner border and then I'll have to see if I have enough of the right fabric to put a larger outer border. I hope I can find something to work since I'd like to finish that top. frommycarolinahome.com/2020/10/30/autumn-jubilee-quilt-along-assembly-and-finish/ - scroll down to see her finished quilt top and then see it quilted and on a bed Hope everyone has a great day!
