DebDoesWW, I read through that link you had and I didn't see anything there that seemed new. The screenshots looked like my app now. I wonder what actually will be "new".

chook wow thanks for that update! What a shame about your leader. That is really a load of crap. So you guys have no free eTools for LT and you pay $30 for the app? Wow. Hopefully they are changing that for you guys, Okay so the shut-outs have begun. (Which I can understand if people are passing out the number to everyone, totally not cool) Have they given you guys another pricing tier for Digital + Virtual Workshops? Or are they still charging just Digital or Digital + Workshops? Thank you so much for all of the information! After reading that job listing that debinprogress posted I was really taken aback now the Leaders don't even have to be current WW members? You have to live the program to know all of the nuances. Jean Neidich's vision of Weight Watchers isn't even a faint memory anymore, Mindy is erasing all traces of it. We don’t have tiered pricing for virtuals....yet. I suspect that will be brought in with the next plan, and the move to National virtuals/specific peer group based virtuals now is in preparation for that move. They really need to refine their skills in it first I think. This is how crazy it gets in Australia. LTM get a concession price of around $30 a month for the App. Often WW have sales which are only open to new members (not current ones), so when a 40% off sale comes up, members call head office, cancel their current subscription, then re-sign up to get the sale price. I’ve done this a few times myself. Sometimes the operator will allow it, sometimes they won’t.... there is no consistency. last time I tried it, they said no... so in a fit of temper I said fine...don’t then and I won’t be re-signing at all. The operator back-peddled and offered me a 30% discount but refused the 40%.

linda72 I think they have been adding these updates here and there for awhile now (probably so they didn't crash the website like they usually do when they do it all at once). 🤣 Here is an enlargement of the activity one, you can see they are making it more "interactive"

DebDoesWWIt’s about $10 a week for digital only, and maybe $15-$20 a week for workshops....I can’t remember exactly it’s been so long and there seems to be specials on every 2nd week. I currently pay $53 a month which was a discounted price almost a year ago.Expensive no matter how you look at it.

The earnings report is interesting. They suggest several things.
Digital + Studio is now going to be Digital + Unlimited Workshops -- basically same as monthly pass now but you get unlimited virtual workshops as well as in person workshops. Overall, I think that is good. If I was currently paying WW I would want to be able to do both. There is a new Digital 360 tier that is sort of vague. Mindy says it will be mid-tier in between digital and Unlimited and digital business. She also said it is geared a younger audience. I have the sense that it is probably something like digital and virtual workshops but not in person. She made comments about it being for a younger group. I wonder how they plan to keep older people from signing up for it. I can't see them straight out limiting it to younger people so maybe they just plan to make it unattractive for older people so they don't feel comfortable with it. Don't know.... She says Digital 360 is built by millennials for millennials...core attribute is coaching, content and community 24/7 with a new group of coaches. My guess is that those are those coaches in that ad. And maybe the digital 360 coaches are totally different people than those for the regular virtual workshops which will have the regular leader. So maybe the digital 360 coaches are all millennials, etc and they talk about millennial stuff, etc. All to discourage older members from signing up for it....
Then in 2021 they are also start a higher cost tier that again has one on one individual coaching.
They are down 70% on physical locations which shows how much they want to get rid of that part of the business.
The WW+ doesn't seem to be another tier. It looks more like changes to the app to make it more immersive. I get the feeling that that will be the only program change which isn't really a program change.

I heard in a live meeting, not virtual, the leader said there will be something happening on November 16, 2020. This was in Charleston, WV. That is on a Monday! So, I don't know. Looked through the search engines haven't found any gossip yet!

Reading whom they are employing now, it looks like people who are going to be the new leaders will have a bachelors degree in some type of nutrition or health or something like that, they have to have 3 years experience in helping people in their field and they have to live Weight Watchers (be a salesperson and spokesman for the company.
This is what I think, when they fired all the leaders and receptionists that use to work for WW, what they were really doing was getting rid of the old baggage. Since, most of those people are gone, they are going to put in more educated health professionals that have more information to help members.
But, the problem is how are they going to do this?? Are they going to charge more for you to talk to a "health" professional???
Also, if the leaders are now these health professionals are they going to change the meetings???
Sounds like Mindy, is taking what Jean envision and changing it to more like a one on one with a therapist instead of a person that had the same problem you did, but overcame it, like Jean had envisioned.
The problem I had with the leaders of Weight Watchers was most of them didn't do the program. They were overweight. Yes, they did lose weight in the beginning and hit their goal, but then gained it back. I remember there was a rule if you were a leader you could only gain 2 pounds and if you gained more you were in trouble of being fired. But, I guess, none adhere to that.
Weight Watchers was to be people with the same problems helping others. But, it looks like Mindy is changing that to get the new younger people. The problem with getting the younger people like that it doesn't work. Younger people don't want someone telling them what to do. What they should do is look at the people that actual uses the program like us 40 year olds and up.
But, that is my two cents!

By the way, I met the best leader in all of Weight Watchers. But, because of COVID and their restructuring she left and got another job.
What Mindy is doing is throwing out the baby out with the bath water. What these new "leaders" are going to say is exactly what the leaders have always said at WW. What happens is a new leaders tells the meeting that eating meat in high saturated fat is better for you and going against what WW says.
What happens when a new leader says exercising makes you more hungry, so don't do it because science says so, and WW says the opposite.
And what are these new leaders going to look like??? Do they have to be on the WW plan too???
Mindy is heading for disaster on this one!

Interesting thing I found in the earnings call:
"In this winter, we will be piloting WW wellness hubs six CVS retail stores where consumers can learn more about WW and members can drop by for wellness check-ins and one-on-one coaching sessions. This real estate strategy helps us nimbly manage our cost structure and in addition virtual workshops have a margin profile that far exceeds the in-person studio model."

And this:
"The second thing is, we will continue to look at other options for where we would have those face-to-face workshop experiences where we don't have overhead costs. And as Nick mentioned, we will be taking a hard look at that going into 2021. So we are looking it as more holistic workshop member strategy going forward."

Kitty , they already have the personal coaching + digital tier available now for $54.95. Thanks for the date Jen! I figured it would be coming soon with the app crashing frequently (that usually happens when they start their tweaking). Now that is interesting Laura M , that would be a great way to solve the "how do we get LT members weighed in when we are shutting down all of our meetings dilemma". They should have teamed up with someone like Target/Walmart though that is on every street corner. Thanks for finding that.

They should have teamed up with someone like Target/Walmart though that is on every street corner. Thanks for finding that. They may team up with more since they are looking for places that won't cost them. In my area we actually have CVS almost everywhere (along with Target/Walmart/Walgreens), I'm actually within walking distance of one. That is an option for LT though. I keep wondering if they will "grandfather" the current LTers and do away with it for newer ones. If their target is a "younger audience", which seems to be the case due to the push for virtual and such, I wonder where that leaves us "oldies".
