There's such sad news coming from WW members and leaders. Sorry to hear this chook.
I feel that I lost WW a while ago for other reasons. The first was the change from PointsPlus to Smart Points. I know that's on me, not on them, because I tried so hard to make that program work and never could. But so many other people seem to be successful on it. It was the change in the way points were calculated, with no relation to calories, and no relation it seemed to me as to what could be healthy foods even though they have fat. All subsequent program changes were just more of the same basically. So eventually I switched to counting calories. It made me very sad to use a different program for the first time since I first joined WW in 1971 at the age of 19.
But even then I could still be part of WW by going to meetings and by participating in the message boards. But they lost me even more when they closed the boards. For me, Connect was no substitute.
And most recently they lost me when they dropped the free etools voucher program. I had gotten a voucher every month since they first started issuing them, and my account is still free until July 2027, so I can't really complain. But I'm not going to any WW center now or in the foreseeable future to weigh in, and I have no idea what will happen to my free account looking ahead. Again, I know I can't really complain because at least there are studios in my area that I could access, and I still have a free account for now. But then again, I earned that by meeting their WW Lifetime requirements, and I've paid them lots and lots of money over the years.
Its been a slow process, but over the years I've felt more and more confident that I can do what I need to do with other programs and support systems. But it still makes me sad that what used to be such a great program is slowly fading away.
Maybe we'll need to start a WW loss grieving board.
