luanne, Thanks for starting the thread. I'm trying to stay away from the news during the day. Tonight we'll have the news on.

Thank goodness it's finally started.
So far, no drama at the polls; everyone behaving.

I'm worried there will be anarchy no matter who wins. If Biden wins, the Trumpers will riot. If Trump wins, the Trumpers will riot (think super bowl fans after a win).

DotRen, If Trump wins I think "our" side will protest.

Protest, yes - riot, I hope not, know what I mean?

Protest, yes - riot, I hope not, know what I mean? I was thinking the same thing. Just finished my second meditation of the day, had the time so I thought why not and I need all the calm I can get. Not looking forward to listening to the news all evening but my husband will probably want to do that.

I remember in 2016 I watched the election results. First in anticipation, then as the results came in, with dread. I couldn't believe what was happening. But I couldn't turn off the news. This time I want to watch. And hope for a better outcome.

Results first. We'll deal with whatever the aftermath is later. One crisis at a time, please.

I'm just so sick and disheartened that so many people voted for him after what he's done to this country, after how much he's hurt the American standing in the world. It's just unfathomable that he could still win and all the hate, racism and diversiveness that he's caused and encouraged will continue for 4 more years.
If there's any silver lining it's that he can't run again.
I just can't believe there's any contest at all. I'm so disappointed in my state and my country.

DotRen, what you said. Even if Biden does manage to win, the country will be so bitterly divided. If Trump wins it's the end of democracy in the U.S. I am so mad at myself that I allowed myself so much optimism.

DotRen, lani, We still don't know for sure, there is still some hope. Hugs.

bbbearsmom, oh, I still have hope. I am just disappointed in my fellow Americans. I truly had no idea there were so many who could vote this way and live with themselves.

This is hurtful. The majority of my family is republican, I know them, they are hard working, wonderful , loving people .. I never question how they can live with themselves. Can't the hate stop ? Can't we let each other have different opinions?

Can't we let each other have different opinions? Jae I think that's the problem: how can loving, wonderful people side with someone who is the antithesis of those values? If you can get an answer to that, I'd love to hear it because my husband is a really nice, caring, loving person - but he's a die-hard republican and the only reason he can give is that "he's always been one".
