This challenge was created eight years ago by a few Weight Watchers members. We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes. Success isnβt always measured at the scale. Each day, tally the positive actions that you made the day before and then talk about the challenges you are working on. Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join. If you are the first one to post each day, please copy, paste and get us started and, if you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Happy Turn-the-Page Monday!
I am sitting here eating a wonderful tangerine from our tree. I could overdo on these as this year they are big and juicy with just the right amount of tang. Must share some with neighbors, because even though its a dwarf, it's at least 6 feet wide and loaded with fruit. Cleaning up after our weekend of rain and wind...wonderful! Everything already looks a different shade of green. Finished the 900 page Ken Follett book. Excellent!
Yes, I can... --regroup, renew, refresh. --get outside this afternoon. --get our new guest room ready to paint. Which means some more de-cluttering.
Nat: How much snow did you get on the mountain. Our weather reporters said you might get 8 inches. Enough for skiers?
Janet: Thanks for starting us out this week. I vow to check-in every day.
Carol and Sally: Big Hugs!

Good Snowy Bluebird afternoon positive peeps! Blue skies now. Jan at our house we probably got a total of 7-8 inches. The resorts are saying they have 12-18 inches of snow. I'm not sure if this changes their plans for the 20th to open, but it's a good start to laying the snow base. They'll probably be blowing snow with the cold temps. I'm not sure how their covid plans are for opening but I know they plan to open. I do not want to be anywhere near the grocery stores when the skiers start coming up. Hubby said the village on Sunday evening had restaurants open and seating inside. He went to the Holiday inn where we have some vending and kids running all over, not a lot of masks on the adults. ugh! I did run into my first non-masker at our grocery store the other day. The look on his face was "I dare you to say something to me." Just cleared a path and avoided. Janet I hope your day is going as planned, a good OP/AP day. So far so good for me. Waves and Happy Monday Sally and Carol!
Yes I CAN: -get myself on the treadmill today -no more crackers/pretzels in the house (those are the things they triggering for me right now) -Do some decluttering...I need to find my shoe chains! -Keep positive!
Have a great evening! Nat

Hi Canners Happy Tuesday-politically thrilled and also politically anxious. ugh again!DH is a political mess. My commitment to exercise last week as a stress management tool was effective- over 50 miles per Fitbit- I may need to do the same this week Glorious fall weather and busy with daily activities... work, exercise, friends and less TV news!!!! Continuing to see the trees rather than the forest as a coping strategy. We'll see Off to find my perspective

Good Tuesday afternoon, positive π₯π₯!
Jan - oooh, please send me a virtual tangerine from your tree, love them!
I also am "thrilled and anxious" about politics. Enjoying my walks, did a pre-breakfast walk in the neighborhood this morning...beautiful! It is 78Β°, breaking another record here. Fall colors are past their peak but still golden and all is illuminated by sunshine against a deep blue sky. I am trying to make a habit of early morning walking, it gives me a good start to the day.
Yes I CAN: --drag self to Old House to make some progress there --keep perspective, remind myself "everything in my life is a learning process that improves with time and practice" (that's my self-talk goal from the WW weekly topic...π)
Be well! Carol

Happy Tuesday.
Well, our city will soon be moving into the purple tier again. These dumb people just can't wear a mask and not congregate. The news looks good for the vaccine but it seems that people can't wait for it before returning to "normal". Sheesh!
Sally: I know how you feel about the political situation. Can't we just get rid of this clown? Hang in there!
Nat: Glad you got some snow but sad that masks will be an issue in your town. Our stores do not allow people in with no masks.
Carol: Your weather and ours got mixed up somehow...but glad you got some warmth before the snow flies. I sure did love all the rain we got on the weekend. Rain Barrels full.
Hi Janet! Your banana muffins sounded really good.
Busy day, need to fix dinner now so...be back tomorrow.

Good Tues evening positive peeps! Quick check in. Sorry to hear about the purple for you Jan, we can't seem to get out of it. I just read our area had it's first death and we have a high of 67 positives in the past two weeks, which is our high so far. For our little mountain that seems a lot. Good news for the vaccine, but it will still be into next year before it will start being used. I'm assuming high risk and front line workers will be first. I'm with you all on the politics anxiety/thrill feelings. Trying to listen to voices of reason, along with trying to stay off the news sites as much as possible.
Okay getting hair done tomorrow so will be off the mountain for a bit. It's still pretty frigid and white here but blue skies. I unstuck my car so I can drive it tomorrow. My DH and DBIL are off on a mining adventure in AZ, so it will be a little peaceful here for the rest of us LOL. I hope everyone has a great evening and look forward to a good Wednesday! Nat

Good Wednesday noon, positive π₯π₯, and Thank You Veterans! ππΊπΈ
Couldn't stop myself from watching TV this a.m. **Editing**
Jan - yay for full rain barrels and people who care about others! Perhaps the caring is a kind of filling of a barrel, for when we need a reminder of love.
Nat - enjoy being pampered at the salon and seeing those beautiful blue skies, as well!
Sally, Janet....hang in there!
Yes I did: --make my usual weekend omelette today, instead. Lots of yummy portabellas, a little cheddar and a smidge of real butter. --enjoy a long luxurious shower after my visit to Old House yesterday...had to deal with dead squirrel in my attic...did some overdue cleanup as well. Lawn guy did finally rake the lawn and trim some brush. Sadly, the Big Old Walnut tree next door, at the street, was cut down during street widening/rehab, but neighbor saved some logs and we will have something crafted from it after the wood cures for a time. --refill the suet feeder, saw the little downy woodpecker as well as the usual Sparrow Spa.
Yes I Can: --get out for a walk...it's still in the 60s but dropping,...
Be well! Carol

Happy Wednesday Evening. Put my flag out for Veterans Day! Kept busy today with laundry, chores, decluttering and watering the houseplants with clean rainwater. My Sweetie worked but brought home dinner from the BBQ joint we like. Moist chicken just like I like it! Am I blessed? Doesn't even have to ask what I want. Planted leaf lettuce today. Carol: That dead squirrel can't have been pleasant. I haven't seen any wild critters since the big storm last weekend. Sad about the big old tree. Was it there when you were growing up? Is your Sweetie handy with wood? Lots you could do with walnut. Wish I could really send you tangerines. The kind I have don't hold well, it's pick and eat that day for the best fruit. Nat: Enjoy your day of pampering...just be careful. Snow is melting fast? I am sure the skiers will arrive soon. Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep. We ALL need it after this past month of politics. Jan

Good Morning! Love, light, blessings, and good health. Thursday, 11.12.2020. 755 AM CST
Jan, I totally share your frustration about non-mask-wearers. If people would behave the quality of life/my quality of life would improve so quickly and so much. Sigh. Well, there is a lot I can do (exercise class/church) and I must be positive.
Nat, snow! enjoy your haircut.
Carol, I am glad your groceries are home and you are enjoying your walks.
Sally, hooray for stress management through exercise. I am trying that myself.
Yes I did: fail to check in. Sorry, I didn't realize it. I need to do better as my 20# of bread flour arrived Sunday. I have been exercising though. Yes I can: walk/stress busting breaks, tonight weight class and swim. Lots of law. Big deadline. Try to avoid stress eating.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Thursday afternoon positive peeps! Snow is melting a little but still a ton. I noticed the night ski lights on when I was coming home, so they are probably taking advantage and blowing snow while it is cold. Jan I was more careful than usual yesterday as there are more people in there (all wearing masks) and I don't want anything messing up my test next week! Carol yikes on the dead squirrel and how sad about the old tree. We have used some tree trunks that they have had to cut down here as a river bed looking path in our front yard. River bed is filled with snow right now LOL. Oh my Janet, 20# of bread flour LOL. I'd be in heaven. I made another pizza crust this week, this time I cut the recipe in half (1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup so delicious coconut yogurt alternative, 1 tsp of baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt). That would make 2 bagels instead of 4. I've never tried it the regular way with Greek yogurt since I'm still no dairying it. This is tasty though! So it is an 8 pt pizza for me, cut into 4 small slices. Sally, go girl on those steps! Yes I CAN: -Get to the store for my anti-fiber diet items that I need to focus on. I will miss my good stuff but I want as good a prep as possible. -Hit the treadmill for the rest of my steps. -Put my heart into decluttering...how hard is that? -Keep positive happy thoughts! Have a great evening! Nat

Happy Thursday Evening.
Janet: Do you use a special kind of bread flour? I always like King Arthur or Gold Medal. 20 lbs probably goes quickly. How do you store it?
Nat: Snow and cold weather must be really good things for your economy. Our restaurants, on the verge of having no eat-in starting Sat PM, still are lucky enough to be able to have outdoor seating. The rest of the cold country, not so much. I myself have not eaten in a restaurant since February. Take out yes. Good luck with your procedure...is it tomorrow?
Started the day today with a morning grocery shop. I find that weekdays around 10:30 am is the least busy in my area. Still it is stressful, especially now with Covid cases rising here. Bought a small frozen turkey. I may try it on my rotisserie for Thanksgivng. My huge freezer has been a real good thing these days in stocking up. It's mostly full of meats, breads, nuts, and fish. We eat few "TV Dinners" or microwave stuff. As a child of a working Mom, we lived on those things when I was growing up. No more. After a 45 minute reading break I did some gardening, fed the birds, washed one of the cars and watched my Sweetie paint. The color we picked is a soft light green, I call it rainwashed but that's actually not it's name. Thai food tonight as a treat! Hope your day was just as pleasant as mine.
Stay Safe my friends and be patient. This too shall pass. Sweet Dreams.

Good Thursday Night, π₯π₯!
Yes I DID: Cello practice & lesson, admin tasks, and a brisk neighborhood walk. It was still sunny but only 40s today. Most leaves are down but it still smells like autumn.
Must sleep now....sweet dreams all Carol
